Little cozy pub in amazing location, just next door to a beutiful church! Very pleased with a service, comfortable beds.

Rusty shower fittings and mildew was no to us.

Location of hotel was excellent - close proximity to Worton Hall where we attended a wedding. The room was warm and comfortable with a small but fully-functioning shower room ensuite. Proprietor was very welcoming at breakfast and keen to get the order right for everyone. Lovely olde worlde pub with rooms. Very flexible on return times in the evening. Nice people running the place.

A little up-dating of the ensuite would be nice, removal of scale and perhaps a little more soap in the dispensers (although adequate if you had forgotten your own!) A larger duvet which hangs down each side of the bed would be good.

The place had a very pleasant and cosy feel to it and it's rural location adds to that feel. The place is also a great location for a nights stay for visiting Oxford as it is very close by and very convenient. The staff and owners were very friendly and welcoming make the stay all the more pleasant and appealing. The food at breakfast and dinner was delicious and served very efficiently and the process of booking a table was very straightforward and easy in the restaurant. The room was very spacious and more than up to the standards expected and had lovely cosy feel to it. The beds were extremely comfortable and made for a lovely night's sleep.

Nothing everything was extremely excellent

The host's were very welcoming and could not do enough for us. We had a lovely Indian Meal cooked by our host which was all fresh,hot and tasted good. The village of Cassington is lovely and a good base to stay for Oxforxd City and other places of Intrest.

We stayed in the Twin Room which was nice but a few thing could be updated lighting was not great only one lamp for whole of the room and shower needs updating. Breakfast was fine but could do with using local produce, found sausage and bacon poor and bread for toast not great. Maybe a breakfast menu would add a nice touch too.

Stayed here for a visit to Blenheim, and well what can we say? The customer service was absolutely incredible! This charming, family-run inn made us feel so welcome. We loved relaxing by the wood fire and enjoying the most amazing home-cooked curries. Nothing was ever too much trouble, and while the rooms could use a little updating, the exceptional hospitality more than made up for it. The location is perfect—just 10 minutes from Blenheim Palace but still in a peaceful village. We’ll definitely be back!

Few little bits but as I said the customer service made up for it .

We stayed here for 2 nights whilst on a roadtrip holiday from Australia. Host was friendly and helpful, he even helped us carry our luggage upstairs. Room was a bit older and fairly bare but comfortable, clean, tidy. Food on site was good- we enjoyed Indian one night and Fish chips and Lasagna the second night. All were good servings. The shower was nice and hot. Wifi worked well. The free parking is good onsite Loved looking inside the 900 year old church right next door. Drove to the local Pear St Park n ride spot and caught the 300 bus into Oxford to explore the historical city centre. All in all a good stay here whilst visiting Oxford an Blenheim Palace.

Sink drained slowly, otherwise nothing to report.

Delightful, well kept inn run by charming hosts in the pretty village of Cassington. Alongside standard pub grub an authentic Indian menu available, all home cooked. A decent English breakfast included in price. Nice, clean room with neat little bathroom and comfy beds. Reasonably priced room rate for location, exceeded our expectations - especially the hosts who were most friendly and welcoming and the delicious Indian food - best we've eaten in a long time! Thank you.

The breakfast a little small portions and no vegetarian option. But food was nice and staff was friendly.

The mattress was not comfortable as you could hear the springs and feel them when you moved . We both slept on the quilt to give a bit more comfort. Pillows was all flat and really needed to have been put in the bin . Room was next to stairs so rather noisy at times with people coming and going. Was clean and food was nice apart from mattress and pillows it was a nice stay . This pub would do well to offer a cream teas option. Friendly staff/ owner .

As you drive toward the chequers it’s looks very welcoming. we weren’t disappointed. it’s as good inside as it looks outside. we were greeted by Babu , who introduced himself and welcomed us. bookin in was straightforward , we were shown to our room. which was spotless, coffee and tea etc was plenty. downstairs the bar / dining area is lovely. ( I had forgotten how nice the so called inns are. so much better that the ‘ chain ‘ hotels.) lovely ales on tap. nice conservatory area to eat in. The food ……(apologies I have forgotten Babus . lovely wife’s name.) everything is home cooked. as an added bonus if you like Indian cuisine. ( I love it. ) a separate Indian menu is available. I had the lamb curry, I can honestly say it’s one of the best curry’s I have had in a long time. wonderful stay with two very nice hosts. I only wish we had stayed another night so I could have sampled another wonderful dish. breakfast was equally as good. well done the chequers , if only every hotel was half as good as the one you run. as a side point the other negative reviews on tripadviser etc are out of date as chequers has new owners, since . try it you won’t be disappointed..

can’t think of anything to dislike…

I had the loveliest stay at this Inn while traveling in Oxford. I arrived later than expected and the owners, a very warm-spirited couple, welcomed me into such an inviting atmosphere. I asked if they served meals, and even though it was late at night, they heated me up some fresh-made curry and chutney which was some of the best I've had. I stayed up even later in lively conversation with them and a friend of theirs over curry and a half pint. A+ hospitality :) really lovely people. My room was spacious, impeccably clean, and my bed was comfortable. I had a nice view from my window into the quaint neighborhood as well. It is just a short bus or Uber from Oxford, which was fine since I didn't have a car. Stay here - you won't regret it!!
