we arrived at the hotel, and were meet by the very friendly staff, we booked in and went to our room, we like to sleep in a well ventilated room, but the window would not stay open, we called down to the service desk and there handyman was at our door in no time and fixed the problem, 10 out of 10 for the service, we had dinner at the hotel that night, and the food was exceptional

we struggled to find the hotel, so maybe a sign on the main street would have helped, but we asked a passer by who told us to turn right at the cobbled street and we found it straight away

I liked the breakfast it was buffet style but had a good range and was normally hot and fresh when I visited at 07:30 during my 3 night stay. The location was good for visiting the Dewars Centre which was were the Convention I was attending was being held. All the Staff seemed very friendly and happy to help. I had a drink in the bar on most nights and a meal on my final night, I could not find fault in the value or service of any of these things.

I was a bit concerned about the parking situation on a cobbled lot at the front of the hotel, it looked like it would not have enough room for everyone if it was fully occupied. There is mention of an overflow car park in some reviews but nothing provided by the hotel or the chain give any information about it. Some of the fire procedue notices mention the overflow car part is the muster point so I think it probably does exist, I just never found it.

Staff very friendly and helpful. Food in restaurant was awesome. Lots of variety at breakfast, including haggis and pineapple juice. In evening the squid and pork both cooked to perfection. Part of the hotel is in an interesting old building, with mill race stream just outside. Cinema and start of shopping area only a couple of minutes walk away.

2nd floor never got cool, even at night with the windows open. Carpets a bit threadbare in corridors. If there was a lift in my wing of the building I didn't find it.

Location was perfect, staff were lovely and room was a good size.

We were facing the roadside and you could hear people coming out of the hotel and speaking on their phones, and we were wakened one night by a couple of men arguing in the alleyway to the estate behind the hotel. Took hours to get back to sleep. Don't think the windows are double glazed. We also left our room at 8.30 one morning and we left the 'gone exploring' ticket on our door for cleaner to come and empty our bin and give us clean towels, toilet rolls etc, but when we got back after 8 at night, it hadn't been touched. The girl at reception was lovely though and gave us towels, toilet roll and teabags.

Beautiful features with the water running under the hotel was mesmerised and loved the garden area with the bridge, Staff were fabulous and friendly, breakfast was good, and Christmas Dinner was amazing loved every bit, hotel is smack bang in the life of town shopping round the corner and off road parking. So welcoming for our dog too, We would come back.

Room decor was a bit out dated and lots of the furniture had chipped tops, we stayed for four days and no one cleaned or tidied up our room or topped up tea Coffee and sugars, although this could be collected at reception, and the one day we left our hanger on the door it still wasn't cleaned by 2pm so we was back from our day out before it could be done again. Bathroom had a small bit of mould around the edges, bathroom unit top chipped. We had a king-size bed, two singles zipped together and rolled around every time you moved so had to wedge a chair to stop it moving.

The location of the hotel is great for the city centre. The decor in the reception, brasserie and bar areas is lovely. The bathroom in the room could do with an update, in my ooinion, toilet was a bit unsteady, and a walk-in shower would be better. Saying that it was very clean and the soap/shower/shampoo all smelled delicious. A good selection of teas and coffee are supplied too The breakfast was superb, a very good selection of continental and cooked options. Not too much cooked at one time and regularly refreshed so everything was fresh for your plate. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Will definitely return to Mercure Hotel Perth.

Very comfortable bed with the best pillows we have ever had in a hotel. Big room and very clean with tea and coffee. Very good buffet breakfast catering for most tastes. Very friendly and helpful staff. We asked for a second chair in the room and it was delivered quickly. The walk into town is just a few minutes so really convenient.

The free wi-fi is unreliable as constantly drops off. Breakfast is 0730 to 0930 but the staff start to remove the food just after without asking guests still seated if they are finished or would like to have more.

Have stayed here before so knew the location was very handy for restaurants, bars and shops. Breakfast was ideal to start the day. The room was a good size but the bathroom could do with an upgrade. We were in Room 19.

We went into the bar for a nite cap around 10pm. There were a few folk in but there was no one actually behind the bar serving. Around 10mins later the barman appeared. There was only one bottle of tonic left also, so one of us had to take lemonade with our gin.

Laura was just so friendly, approachable and kind. Andrew behind the bar was also lovely. Laura made my birthday and there was also a bottle of wine in the room from the Manager (Chloe I think) - these little touches make such a difference.

Blaine the most rudest member of staff I have ever encountered. This would have scored 10 had it not been for her attitude. I think she is in the wrong job!
