The hotel promotes a 10/10 as its main goal, and it pretty much met what it advertises. There was a warm welcome from front of house, who also accommodated my request for a quiet room. The room itself was comfortable and clean, and food in the restaurant (whilst slightly limited - as most of these kind of hotels are) was perfectly acceptable.

The hotel car park is limited in terms of spaces but i was lucky, and also think there is a car par quite close by. The hotel is situated near a bus depot, but it didn't bother me in the least (and i am a light sleeper), and whilst the hotel was convenient for work, the city centre traffic is what it is (cant blame the hotel for that), but nothing about the hotel would put me off staying again.

The staff here were incredible! Nothing was too much trouble and they were super friendly! The breakfast was varied and we had vegetarian sausages cooked especially for us - these were really tasty. There was a good variety of hot foods, pastries, fruit, breads and cereals. The room was spotlessly clean with a bath and a shower. The space was used well with good facilities such as hairdryer, desk and reading lights. There were little signs that made it clear that if you need something (such as a different pillow) you should just ask - your opinion is clearly important here. The room was modern and stylish and in a good location for the town centre and football ground. The parking was free. This is how a hotel should be run! Well done all!

Because it was high up, the window didn’t open - I guess this is fairly standard but I do like a bit of fresh air. On the plus side, there was air conditioning. The room could have been a little bigger but the price was good so there is a compromise to be had. It would have been nice to have a small fridge but this is me being super fussy.

This is the second time I have stayed at the Holiday Inn, it's a fantastic hotel. Admittedly from the outside, it's quite an archaic, and oppressive looking building. However the inside is absolutely exceptional, the décor is modern and clean. The staff are always exceptional, and the rooms are super clean.

Not allot to complain about, the only thing I would like is a more modern TV, maybe with smart features such as Netflix or Prime, so you could login with your own account. If I had to be really pedantic, and unfair. My only complaint from this stay, would be the fact the reception staff didn't ask how my stay was during checkout. But that is really a pathetic thing to complain about.

I loved having access to the Mini Gym. I was welcomed by the reception staff and every interaction with them was a positive one.

I thought charging someone £6.50 for a pint of shandy was a little extreme, especially as the pint on it's own would've been £4.50!!! I like the option to not have your room cleaned everyday, but just wish they'd pop in and fill up the tea and coffee facilities. I can see that some people would be put off not having their room cleaned, if it meant the refreshments weren't stocked.

Even though I had asked for a twin room, I got a standard double, which normally if I'd been travelling with a partner and not my grandaughter it would have been fine. But the room it's self was very clean and tidy

The receptionist said I couldn't pay for my room with cash, unless I put £100holding fee with a card, so when I did this she then told me I couldn't pay with cash as there was a card on the system. Then when she gave us the room key cards she never explained where the room was, where the lift was where the restaurant was or any of the facilities if we needed them, no fire exits were shown to us either.

Booked this hotel at the last minute due to a change of plans. I was in Preston for the comic con that Saturday and needed a place to stay. This is the best hotel I could find at a reasonable price, at short notice. The hotel was really easy to get to and close enough to all the major amenities in town. The room was very comfortable, and the staff were very friendly.

There weren't enough parking spaces at the hotel. However, I was very lucky to bag myself the last available parking space in the car park the night I arrive. On the Saturday, while I was out at the comic con, I was rather disappointed that the housekeeping staff only replaced the towels and did not make the beds or empty the bin in the bathroom. There were no vegan options on the restaurant menu, so I ended up getting a takeaway meal on the Saturday night.

I actually liked everything about this hotel. The decor and spaciousness was especially nice and calming. All the staff, from reception to waiting staff to housekeeping staff were really very pleasant and efficient. The bed was super comfy and the breakfast buffet was excellent.

I didn't like that when we arrived we were given a double room when I was under the impression I had booked a two twin bedroom. The receptionist said that it was an issue on booking.com that offered you the choice to tick which you would prefer double or twin. Booking.com did not advise that we would not be assured twin beds and would only have them if they were available. As it happened it was OK as I was sharing with my daughter. However it could have been awkward to expect twin beds and be given a double. I do not hold the hotel responsible in any way for this misunderstanding. All in all it was a lovely stay in a beautiful very well run hotel.

The reception staff are very friendly and welcoming. The room was clean. The bed was very comfortable. The breakfast staff were excellent friendly and helpful.

The windows in the room had a gap somewhere even though closed, the wind was howling through constantly as the weather was really bad. There were no vegetarian sausage options. Little overpriced as the room was tiny and not much different to the cheaper travelodge.

The location and view

The bed and pillows were harder than we are used to. Breakfast was very good but we would have liked porridge. Our main complaint at breakfast is that the tea and coffee were waiter served - we had to wait for our first cup and they did not come around offering top-ups. We did get a second cup of tea when we requested it but we would have preferred to have helped ourselves. It seemed a bit pointless not being able to help yourself to hot drinks when you could help yourself to all the food on offer.
