We had an absolutely wonderful stay at this gorgeous estate. From the moment we arrived, everything exceeded expectations. The grounds are stunning, the property is impeccably maintained, and the staff were exceptionally polite, kind, and welcoming. We were lucky enough to be upgraded to a room in the mansion house, which was such a treat—highly recommended. A beautiful personal touch was a letter addressed to me waiting in the room. The hotel is incredibly well-equipped, offering everything from golf, tennis, and a pool to a luxurious spa, restaurants, and bars. The rooms are spacious and spotless, with elegant décor and luxurious Penhaligon’s Halfeti toiletries. Breakfast was varied and delicious, and having access to coffee and water anytime was a lovely convenience. For me, this hotel was the perfect base for Royal Ascot—just a short drive away. After the excitement and bustle of the races, returning to this peaceful oasis was ideal. The unique combination of race-day atmosphere and the tranquil luxury of the estate made the whole experience feel truly special. Honestly, I’m amazed this hotel only has 3 stars—it far exceeds that in every way: style, service, comfort, and overall experience. My only regret is not having more time to enjoy everything the estate has to offer. I would return in a heartbeat and really, really recommend it.

beautiful driveway with surrounding grounds on approach, very well tended.. Excellent and easy check in, found the room comfortable and well equipped on arrival we booked for the restaurant but the time offered was rather late so we opted for a bar meal, which was tasty, well presented and reasonably priced. the breakfast offerings were exceptional we accidentally left our phone chargers in the room and 'phoned to ask the staff if they had found them. Not only did they find them, but Tej on reception went above and beyond and arranged for them to be delivered to a De Vere closer to our home. many thanks to Tej and to Dan for delivering them

there is redecoration going on in the hotel so the route we were advised to get to our room was much longer than necessary, and it was via the outside in torrential rain - to be fair I am not sure if the receptionist would have been aware of the weather ! bathroom bin had not been emptied and was full so a bit disappointing. the wait for breakfast tables was massive, but there was nothing the staff could have done to alleviate this.

This hotel is beautiful with all areas exceeding expectations - the grounds were particularly lovely. The staff were very helpful and accomodating. The breakfast was delicious.

A few very minor things - the pool opened at 7 but you needed to sign in at the gold club first. Staff were running a bit late - it didn't matter too much as I wasn't in a time crunch and the staff were still very friendly. The room was very clean apart from the hairdryer was a bit dusty at the back filter, and the phone in the room was also a bit dusty. At the pool, the facilities were clean overall, but there was a big clump of hair on one of the shower walls. These are all minor things but constructive critisim for the future.

Room was very comfortable. Plenty of choice and plenty to eat for breakfast. The dinner and breakfast was Aof a good quality.

Evening dinner was rather spoilt by a group of rowdy men (golfers???) occupying a side room. Despite several requests of staff and restaurant manager to get it “toned down” it took a while (20 minutes) before the situation was resolved by closing the doors between the side room and the main dining room. This could have been done as soon as the first complaint was made. Additionally there was a bit of a mix up about paying the dinner bill. My group had pre ordered and were expecting their dinner bills to be charged to their rooms. However at the end of the meal we were presented with one bill for the whole group. In fairness to the restaurant manager although it took a bit of time he did resolve the situation by providing us all with individual bills.

The opening hours are also good 7am - 9pm. ☆We liked the vast grounds, we walked around ☆We liked the size of our room and the space ☆We liked the personalised letter on the bed and snacks on arrival 👌 . ☆ We loved the shower gel and shampoos and body lotion brand (penhaligon) ☆We liked sanitisers across the building9

On the 1st morning there was no breakfast in the mansion building, we had to go the main house.

Nestled in lush countryside, De Vere has long been our favourite retreat for golf, but this visit transformed it into our secret oasis-an elegant blend of history, comfort, and warm hospitality. The staff, always courteous and professional at any hour, truly elevate the experience. Special thanks to Chloe at the front desk, whose dedication, even just days into her role, reflected the exceptional training and standards of the entire team. The Mansion House itself is a masterpiece -rich in heritage yet flawlessly maintained, offering both historic charm and modern cleanliness. De Vere is more than a hotel; it's family. Staff were very friendly on arrival and our room was lovely and spacious and overall really nice, I couldn't fault it. One of my favourite rooms I have ever stayed in, we had stayed in this hotel before when I gave it 10/10 and we're on upper floor, this time we were the ground floor and we loved the fact we had doors that we could fully open.

There must have been an event on as breakfast was awful for waiting time in que of 20 mins and then wait for table for further five minutes by which time we food had started going cold, the hotel should had booked guests breakfasts time to prevent this, very disappointing.

We stayed in this hotel as was the middle point for our family to meet for a 83rd birthday celebration . The reception contacted us prior to look at our needs and were great helpings to plan the dinner and birthday celebration. Catrina helped me to access menus and pre plan meals before getting there she was great from reception. Brett the breakfast manger heard it was my mother’s birthday and booked us in the private room for dinner which was wonderful , very caring man . The staff who serves us came in with the cake and my mother was just so very happy . They were let by Marco the manager . We topped them extra as they were marvellous. Felt really well cared for . The rooms were clean and penhaligans shower gel and products just delightful . The swimming pool was so clean , the dry sauna was very nice Grounds lovely and the big house is nice too . We did not upgrade and were happy we Friday as most of the activity is not in the big house . The pool , bar, seating area etc is not in the big house so glad we didn’t do that . All in all wonderful .

The corridor was being painted so there was plastic on the floor but it’s winter guess and it had to be done sometime . I think if you provide free drink in the main foyer that would be good , water will do . You already have a water tap for drinking so to achieve this just provide cups and that will do next to the water tap . I often got thirsty and either had to go to the bar or to my room . There are so many lovely sitting books around and a free water station with cups would make a big difference .

we stayed at the beautiful estate manor house and upgraded for the suite. beautiful luxury room,like palace rooms, extra massive bed with 6 kingsize pillows, high quality furnitures, nespresso machine & tea /coffee supplies, massive bathroom, Penhaligons toiletries, twin sink, all villeroy bosch fixtures. proper posh manor house interior. our room was right in the middle of the mansion and we woke up to the amazing view of the well curated grounds. we had dinner at their tapas and view restaurant-excellent food. staff are all so polite and friendly, no tacky guests. serene surroundings, clean hotel, and peaceful nights sleep. we thouroughly enjoyed this place. will definitely come again. and will recommend tp everyone.

A short rest break became a rejuvenating retreat at this wonderful hotel. The warm welcome from Tej at reception, excellent facilities, luxurious accommodation, and beautiful surroundings created an unexpected opportunity for deep rest, indulgent self-care, and recovery. Thank you, Tej, for the beautiful, spacious, quiet room with a peaceful, leafy view.

Wonderful tea & coffee making facilities (Nespresso machine, kettle, and well stocked hospitality tray) were let down by the bar refrigerator not being clean.
