Everything good. Clean rooms with good facilities. Breakfast was excellent, served in a very pleasant dining room by friendly, efficient staff

The staff were all very friendly and professional. My only suggestion, is perhaps more staff at peak times, especially in the bar and food area. I appreciate that costs have to be kept down, and employment costs are high, but perhaps more focus on when staff are utilised I only mention this, as on the several occasions my friends and I went into the bar, we had to find or wait for a staff member, who was trying to do several jobs at once ( not their fault). That said ,every member of staff apologised for the delay, & was friendly and professional

Lovely old building with beautifully manicured grounds, spotlessly clean.

Wish we hadn't ate on site. Both evening meal and breakfast were a huge disappointment. We waited over half an hour for starters and couldn't believe the portion size for the price we paid..over £7 for 2 chicken wings and same for a cup of nachos !! 'chunky chips' were solid and hollow, side salad drowned in vinegar. Chose Full English for breakfast, requested no black pudding, mushrooms or beans..no replacement offered, when it came tomatoes took up half my plate and were cold..one piece of bacon, one sausage, one hash brown, one egg and a triangle of deep fried bread...£12..

A very nice hotel with lovely staff. The room was comfy with a pleasant view of the garden. The facilities in the room were very good. Generally a rather quiet hotel situated slightly away from the centre which is by no means a bad thing. I would certainly stay at the hotel for longer than the one night as I feel to thoroughly enjoy the hotel you would need to have a stay of at least a couple of nights

Not much could be improved, garden view room was a little noisy a bit later into the night than I personally would have preferred but that was simply due to a couple families in the garden enjoying their holiday

It’s an old building which what attracted to me. The food was great but come on menu laminated your better than this.

The bathroom needs updating it’s very dated floor was nice but feel it was too small for the layout. Would have preferred carpet in the room. And plug well away from bed with no usb point. Felt like in the late afternoon the local drinkers got slightly better treatment. And I have to say. For a beautiful place it attracts the chavs in tracksuits which I feel bought the class of the place down. And although a lot of bins there was rubbish. When I came down to my vehicle there was lots of rubbish which my son and I picked up and put on bin.

We loved the history & the look of the building, plus the room looked very smart & everywhere looked clean and tidy. We had a lovely breakfast and hope to go over and go to the steak night in the week.

I forgot to report that - as often is the case with seaside hotels - the water took a long time to drain away. Despite how physically well we looked, my mum & myself had problems with accessing the shower over the bath: there were no handles for either of us to grip, in order for us to feel safe in getting in & out of it. Although we loved the history, etc of the house, we found it a bit too much to tackle the stairs to access the 2nd floor, if we had been staying longer than 1 night.

The room was lovey, we had a very comfortable bed, plenty of hanging space and drawers, beautifully decorated and a large TV . the bathroom was spacious and the shower quite powerful , nice big fluffy towels, we had a bath mat for safety so wasn't a slip hazard in the bath when showering Bar area was quiet, if you wanted more noise you could venture into the sports bar, we didn't have dinner but looking at the food coming from the kitchen it would be well worth it. Breakfast was very nice, service was quick and professional, and plenty of choice on the menu and at the continental table All in All fantastic well done, we will be staying again if a room is available when we visit the area again, the best one we have stayed in, we visit once a month to see an elderly Mother

I am not too keen on shower curtains, they tend to cling to you but can understand why they use them as practical

Just far enough from the town centre to be nice and quiet on a night but close enough to walk in about 10 minutes. Loads of parking (safest in the overflow car park at the rear) and easy access. On entering the property we were greeted with a lovely smiley receptionist. Smartly dressed, knowledgeable and attentive the lady booked us in, quickly and efficiently and made us feel at home. We were asked if we would like a hand with our luggage, which we politely declined but it was nice to be asked and elderly guests will be grateful for as there is no lift. We were given a suite which consisted of a self contained living room with a lovely comfy double blue settee and a TV. The bedroom had a comfortable double bed and was completed by immaculate crisp white sheets, colourful scatter cushions and a cheerful runner. It all looked very extravagant. The bed was reasonably comfortable but disappointingly not a comfortable as it looked. I got the feeling the mattress was a little well worn but we still slept ok.a change of mattress may well have upped my score but for the price of £120 per night the suite was well worth it and the mattress forgivable. The ensuite bathroom had a bath and shower which were clean and fully functional. The decor was a little bland and looked dated, a touch of TLC would go a long way to getting an excellent score but it was obvious the hotel had put a lot of work into turning, I'm guessing, two prior rooms into a large guest suite. If you like a lot of space then you will love the suite. We also liked that the suite was in a quiet area and the lock was secure and made you feel safe. Breakfast was in the very modern and comfortable dining room. My partner had a full English breakfast and I was delighted that my request for 2 sausage, 2 bacon and a slice of fried bread and baked beans was not a problem at all. Overall we enjoyed the Vine very much and would stay again.

My only dislike really was the stairs. They were narrow and twisty in places and it was hard to manoeuvre the luggage at times. However, as I said earlier, we were offered to have our cases carried up for us so I really cannot complain.

All the staff were so friendly and helpful - they couldn't do enough for us. The food was INCREDIBLE! Great price, generous proportions and so, so tasty. The room itself was comfortable and clean, and I slept well. I'd definitely stay again.

I was surprised that the breakfast on Monday morning was so different from the breakfast on Sunday. There was a big reduction in price, so this wasn't a problem, but it was a surprise initially to discover that the only breakfast on Monday was 'continental' (it wasn't, it was cereal, fruit, toast and yoghurt. So a buffet rather than continental). But, as I say, it wasn't actually a problem and it was reflected in the different prices.

Absolute lovely hotel to stay at, originally booked for 1 night but decided to stay for another night and the staff went out of there way to help and make everything comfortable for me and my family, we had our 2 children with us, both under 2 and was so helpful making things baby friendly. Family room was exceptional including the cot they set up, everything was very clean and smelt lovely. Would definitely recommend to anyone that wants a break away with or without children. The location of the hotel is lovely and the surrounding area. 5* from me and my family. Will be booking again soon.

Superb breakfast. Staff brilliant. The two bar girls provided us with an ice bucket to take to the room. The barman was very helpful and explained to us how to get to the grammar school. Décor great but I'd lose the chandelier in our room and replace the bedside lamps with something more modern. The curtains and pelmet were dated, and the ceiling was chocolate coloured and made roof seem to0 low. En-suite lovely and bright and so clean.
