Clean, pleasant room. Great water pressure in the shower. Good size room with a comfortable bed and seating area. Easy walk to the high street. Convenient market and restaurants close to hotel. Breakfast was tasty.

There was a continental aspect to the breakfast but for some reason customers couldn't get their own coffee refills. When I tried to get a refill I was scolded for doing so, then it took 15 minutes for any one to come to the table to refill my coffee. Just let people pour their own coffee. hotel is dated, but stays clean and well maintained.

Nice hotel, with good friendly staff. Nice breakfast and large room. Reception girls were good. Always helpful. The hotel is on the main bus route into town. Just a ten minute ride, and plenty of buses.

You had to keep asking for the heating to be put on, as the room became cold. Loads of cars parked up from cruise passengers, who park cars in the way. If they can pay thousands for a cruise, then they should be parking in the cruise port instead of getting in the way in hotel car parks.

I stayed 4 nights at Hotel, feel very lucky to have found this place at such short notice and for such. Great price . It's the best Hotel for location, it's standards of cleanliness, the room is huge , as it is the bathroom with a proper bath and shower over. The bed is so comfortable. It has tea and coffee making facilities in room and TV. Having a lovely stay at the Hotel. The double glazing at front is particularly good at reducing noise. It's so close to the Common, shops , restaurants and the City Centre. The hotel has a great restaurant, bar and a lovely garden. This place is totally awesome

I couldn't have stayed longer

The atmosphere is casual and very dignified - the buildings (and rooms) are beautiful. There are also many interesting travellers who pass through the hotel - many on their way to cruise voyages. We very much enjoyed dining in the restaurant and the hotel is very convenient for walks into the common (especially early morning to watch for wildlife!) The busses stop just outside and run up to the uni, and down into town, so very easy to get around without a car.

Nothing much - ok here is something really small... the "full English" breakfasts used to include fried toast and black pudding. Neither are good for my waist, but golly they were tasty!

Really lovely staff, very friendly , smiling morning welcomes in Breakfast room and at reception, staff exceptionally helpful. Very clean hotel, water nice and hot for taking shower or bath. Great location for buses from airport and into the city centre. Variety of offerings for breakfast , people should be able to find something they like, and we were able to ask for preferences re beverages. Just to note hairdryers need to be asked for at reception, and toiletries are attached to walls , making that a bit awkward if having a bath, instead of showering, if you have not brought your own. We did not use the restaurant.

The only thing I would suggest is that the pillows could be doing with being replaced, simply because they had lost any support or plump. I realise there is a lot of use in a busy and popular hotel but they do make a difference to the quality of sleep and comfort . Our stay was short so I didn’t ask for any more pillows or replacements, I’m sure it would have been accommodated if I had.

This was one of the best hotels we ever stayed. The price was 76.50£ which is great.(At the same price in London you get a rubbish hotel and parking is difficult.) The room was huge, 2 double beds and one single ..The lighting was ample and plenty of 3 pin sockets to charge your devices. Seems to be very popular with the cruise crowd. The breakfast was excellent hot freshly made English cooked breakfast served at the table. ..which very rare nowadays. Paking was ample.. All the staff were extremely friendly and polite. Will certainly be coming back many more times.

the pillows could have been better.

The staff is absolutely outstanding and very accommodating. They go out of their way to assist with your needs. I’m so happy in our reservation we opted to include breakfast, it was very good and varied for different taste pallets! The hotel is very centrally located and we were able to walk back from the Titanic museum and the restaurant that is open from Monday to Friday, not only is it convenient but very good food. It had the feel of an intimate pub. It had a great variety of beers and wine and also stocked with liquor as well. We were only able to have dinner on Friday, September 20, of our 3 night stay. The B&B is relatively close to the train station (around 30 minute walk) and you are able to walk to a small market and area restaurants (not fancy). We took a taxi to the train station and on the way back we started with a taxi, but the traffic was so bad we got off and walked back to the hotel. We probably got back sooner than if we would have had we stayed in the taxi.

The room was an accommodation request because we requested no stairs due number of luggages we had. This was in the back of the building that had been updated and the room had the essential items you may need. The only inconvenience was that you needed to go through the gravel parking area with the luggage but once you got to the entrance, there were only 2 steps to get in. It was small but clean and the bathroom had a wonderful updated shower. There’s a small lobby, but during check in and check out times, seating may be a challenge, although I was always able to sit.

We received a warm welcome from friendly staff. We had a beautiful room, comfortable bed, nice en suite with a powerful shower. We enjoyed breakfast two mornings, supported/served by friendly staff. Breakfast choices were great. The hotel stored our luggage on our day of departure and we were able to enjoy some time in the city without dragging our luggage around for the day. We appreciated this very much.

We ate in the bar/restaurant the night we arrived into Southampton. The dinner choices were excellent. However, the food itself was a disapointment. The food appeared pre-prepared; the chef/cook just heated our options.

Lovely staff, great welcome. Good location for pre- cruise night. Great price of £115 with a full breakfast for family of 3. Tea, coffee tray with biscuits provided. Bus stop right outside for easy access to the High Street with cafes and bars. Very clean. Would recommend and would stay again. They also do cruise parking which we didn’t require on this occasion but would consider , if the need arose.

Our particular room 27, the entry door led into a lobby area with a locked cupboard in ; it had a few steps up then another door before you were in the room. We only had overnight case so not too bad but it you had a lot of luggage access would be made difficult. In the room itself was another locked door. Due to the age of property and adaptions this room although odd has all amenities required. Room was a bit cold but we did find an electric radiator in a cupboard that we should have used but hoped heating would come on. Bathroom radiator was hot on arrival but went off and wasn’t on for morning showers .

The hotel was perfect for us. The rooms were beautiful and very clean. We were able to park the car for the duration of our cruise, this was a little bit of a faff as all the cars were double parked but the reception staff dealt with it all no problem and directed us to the car park next door where there was plenty of space. We were able to unload our luggage first and then move the car. The evening meal was amazing, I would definitely recommend making a reservation.

The property is older and doesn’t have a lift, but there are a lot of stairs, which are quite steep. I would say it wouldn’t be suitable for expletive who struggle with stairs or mobility. Also, some of the bedrooms are located in the building next door which is okay but if it’s raining you will get wet going for dinner and breakfast!
