Location excellent Bar and food excellent. Highly recommend the afternoon tea. Staff friendly, helpful and welcoming. We can't wait to go back it was better than expected.

Only one thing we didnt like and its a shame really. Ok Room 16 has an absolutely fabulous spacious room BUT the bed on one side is so uncomfortable. Its as soft as cotton wool but too soft and it has a huge dip in the middle. I felt like I was in a hammock. Made me wonder if they put the matress topper on which explains the softness to compensate for the matress that's had its day a while ago. Opposite side of bed was flatter, didnt dip but you could feel the springs poking through Only thing that let our stay down, was the rubbish matress. Shame really But a good night's sleep is the important part of any hotel stay

The breakfast last year it was lovely for £6 extra this year it came out like a stack all built up with a hard fryed egg on top and a wooden stick in it looked like a burger in fact someone commented who having burger for breakfast sorry but not what you want there was 6 of us we left most of it everyone left the eggs not what you expect for english breakfast sorry but next time we be sticking to the continental breakfast included in price or if we do want english will eat elswere

Excellent location just a 10 minute walk from the railway station and shops. Evening meal was so good, teryaki salmon with rice for my daughter and cottage pie with seasonal vegetables for me. Followed by generous sized desserts. The room was cosy but ideal for the 2 of us. Comfy bed. Continental breakfast was very fresh with a wide choice of pastries, cereals, fruit , cheese, meats etc. Our host was really helpful and attentive throughout and we were able to leave our bags until we had finished at a local spa and were ready to go home. Will definitely stay here again in the future.

At times we could hear the TV/ voices from the room next door, really clearly. Not to a point it affected our stay.

Lovely old hotel with conservatory area for eating and drinking. Close to Lord Street - walking distance into the main part of town. Lift up to 2nd floor room - good for husband with bad knees! Friendly and helpful staff. Excellent shower in the bathroom, comfy bed. Excellent breakfast - self service for continental, great choice of everything - wish I could have eaten more! The cooked breakfast was also both large and delicious. I would stay there again.

Only problem was no parking on the property. But what can you expect with an old building in a busy town. We found a non-paying space on the square just up the road where we left the car and then walked everywhere. Christmas lights were on, so very pretty!

Great location to see the fireworks competition, the staff were very friendly and accommodating. The food was good too and the room was a good size. I'd booked a twin bed room but when I got to it it was set up as a double but they were very fast at fixing the situation in time for when my friend arrived the next day.

The room was looking a little bit scruffy, a few scuffs on the walls and stains on the carpets but I guess that can be expected from a 3 star hotel and it wouldn't put me off staying again. One of the taps in the bathroom was really wobberly too and it was quite a warm room, luckily I'm a cold person so like a warm room but my friends who were also staying couldn't have copied with it, but they were on the ground floor where it was much cooler.

Dukes Folly is in an excellent location away from the main street but within easy reach of the shops and bars, cafes etc, the beach is also within easy reach of the hotel. On arrival we considering going for the full English breakfast but decided to try the continental breakfast, we are pleased we did, this has got to be the best continental breakfast we have had, plenty of choice, good decision. The room was a little cramped and very warm , but the weather was unusually warm for the time year. We are looking forward to our next visit.

great location,right on the edge of Lord street , so shops ,restaurants and bars within a five minute walk . lovely and clean hotel and very welcoming, staff were very pleasant and nothing was to much trouble for them , room was clean ,I found the bed a little uncomfortable but everyone’s comfort is different , shower was good and there are toiletries for your use , tea and coffee and bottled water in the fridge at the end of the hallway . nice clean towels and a hairdryer, we had a wheelchair user with us and found everywhere accessible. , Nice bar area and prices very reasonable, .Breakfast was continental but plenty of it , The Sunday lunch looked gorgeous although we didn’t have one ,because we had other plans . we would return to this lovely hotel

Room and wet room spacious, chilled water bottles available daily, parking close by and reasonable price, bar /conservatory area lovely and buffet provided for the function tasty.

Cooked breakfast was additional cost although when booking it said breakfast included. A continental breakfast was included but not specified. Pre-booked cooked breakfast was brought out but no choice given. Bar closed at 10pm so at 9.45pm each evening we were asked to sit in reception area (small area) which was not ideal.

The location was good near to Lord Street. We had the continental breakfast which had plenty of variety and choice, and was tasty and filling. The restaurant was light and airy. The room and bathroom were quite small but fine for two people. It was good to have a key fob for late night access. The staff were always available and helpful

Had we been staying for more than one or two nights, we would have liked the option of a larger room.

The room was really comfortable and exactly as described. Plenty of space and a lovely big bathroom. The welcome we got was lovely and friendly and we loved the cold water you could take up to your room, this was a lovely touch. We had dinner in the restaurant, they had a midweek special of a main meal, pudding and a coffee for £10, very good value for money and even 10% off your food if you were staying there. The staff were all lovely and couldn't do enough for you. Highly recommend
