The garden! I had the Woodland Room downstairs with patio door opening direct into a garden all to myself. What a restful delight - comfy seating, birdsong, flowers, the subtle sound of water trickling into the fish pond... Ellen is the perfect hostess, friendly but not intrusive and makes a really delicious breakfast. Guests choose exactly what items they want for breakfast by ticking a little form, and leaving it in the hall before 10pm the night before - you could even ask to have it anytime from 7am to 9am. A lot of thought had obviously gone into being as helpful as possible to their guests, for example, chilled water and fresh milk was always available in the fridge in the hallway. It was very clean and the decor was top quality and pleasant, reflecting a fondness for British wildlife. I knew there was a dog about the place, called Rosie, but I never saw it (I had told Ellen that dogs can make me nervous), and it's also a very quiet dog, I only heard a very little barking once while I was there. Apparently there's a cockerel too, but I didn't hear it, though I did hear the occasional fighter jet flying over on training flights from Coningsby. In summary: delightful.

It's a pity about the traffic noise from the busy A16 (but the garden was still restful). Mirror above sink is right opposite the shower. The switch for the shower (and extractor fan) is in the bedroom. It is requested to be quiet after 11pm.

Host was very friendly and welcoming. Myself and my husband had booked a twin room as the website said we could 'upgrade' to a twin from a double, and the host immediately offered to rearrange the room for us so we could have a double. She was helpful and offered recommendations on where we could go to eat on the evening. The cottage itself was immaculately clean, bathroom was very nice and modern and the room was spacious with a lovely view and access to our own private garden area. We liked that we were able to order breakfast the night before and select what exactly we wanted on our cooked breakfast, which was cooked really well and was lovely, with locally sourced ingredients (eggs from their own hens/ducks etc).

The cottage was a bit out of the way from the nearest village so we were restricted a little on where we could go to eat after we arrived, however this was our own fault for not planning properly beforehand. The cottage itself was in a lovely quiet and peaceful area.

This is not a slick fancy boutique hotel that you need a mortgage to buy drinks at the bar.....it is far better.......why?..Homely, comforting...like staying at a favourite family members home. Very welcoming face on arrival, easy, no fuss booking in. Our room upstairs was large, as expected it had the country cottage feel. A large ensuite bathroom with a shower that you don't bang your elbows on eveytime you turn. A fabulous welcome touch was two home baked scones, cream and jam with selection of hot beverages if required. The next morning a proper, Full English Breakfast is on offer with quality produce, eggs from their own chickens. If your visiting friends or just passing through we recommend a stop off here

Absolutely amazing B&B! The owners Ellen and Stephen are the loveliest of people. The B & B itself is immaculate, clean, amazing facilities, spacious modern rooms with lots of extras and the grounds are just lovely. The breakfast was fab and plenty of choice. I couldn't recommend this place enough and will definately return. As we chatted to the owners they told us how they bought the property and have renovated to create the B&B. It's beautiful!

The room was really nice, light and airy, spotlessly clean, the breakfast was 1st. class, with a menu given the day before, so as to make choices for which you wanted for your cooked breakfast. Location was very quiet, far enough from the main road so not to hear any traffic noise, and only 4/5 miles from the Heritage Aviation Museum, where we had spent the day. Finally our host was lovely, very eager to please.

This was a great place. We stayed here because we were going to the Lincolnshire Aviation Museum and it was such a lucky find- a fabulous place to stay. The breakfast was absolutely delicious- cooked to order and lots of nice touches. The jam and marmalade was home made, the chunky toast was made from real bread and the tea and coffee were really decent- Yorkshire tea and not a catering teabag in sight. Ellen, the owner, was very friendly and welcoming but also unobtrusive and discreet. Our room opened onto a private garden with a summer house- everything was carefully thought of, even a little note to tell guests where to find the cushions for the outdoor seats. The property had been renovated to a very high standard and was so clean- it was just spotless. We had a very good quality comfortable bed- and everything was very thoughtfully done, again with lots of nice little touches such as scissors being provided to help open the complementary drink sachets; a toothbrush each; a corkscrew and wineglasses- and a guest fridge in the hall with a dinky bottle of fresh milk and bottles of chilled water. The bedding was good quality and the towels were nice and thick- there was even a free novel to take home. Finally, the property was situated in an idyllic location on a private lane with beautiful gardens. We stayed in a heatwave so had the doors open to the garden yet our room was lovely and cool. All in all we couldn’t fault this place and would thoroughly recommend it.

Absolutely no complaints

From the moment we arrived, the picturesque cottage and its gardens were a hit. The hosts were so friendly they were just like family, even a fridge was provided in the entrance area for residents to use. Everything you could think of was available, and more was offered if required. Breakfast was cooked exactly as requested, with sealed preserves/jams/yoghurt & fruit compotes etc, so much was on offer. This little establishment was definitely a little gem, perfect in every way. We will certainly return, our hosts were brilliant.

Nothing - it was perfect !!

Beautiful cottage with spacious accommodation and great facilities. The owners are very pleasant and work hard to provide excellent service whilst staying in the background to allow you to enjoy your stay. The gardens deserve particular mention as they are an extensive succession of lovely areas to sit out in or just walk around. We will definitely book again when up in the area.

Nothing.

Fabulous from start to finish. Excellent communication, very flexible with our arrival time due to local event. Very warm welcome and parking on-site. Room and ensuite finished to a very high standard, so many little details that made the stay comfortable, well thought out from the guest's perspective. Breakfast first-rate and full English cooked using high quality ingredients. Other B&B/hotel owners could learn a lot from these wonderful hosts. We will be back!
