I loved this hotel! The staff were all very friendly and helpful. The location was excellent, gorgeous view, great shopping within walking distance. The food was delicious and the bar drinks were excellent. We arrived very early so they watched our luggage so we could start our site seeing, once we returned several hours later they had taken our luggage to our room and allowed us to check-in even though it was still a couple of hours before normal check-in time. They had everything in our room from fudge on the bed to multiple selections of coffees, water and excellent specialty soaps in the bathroom. I wanted to purchase some of the soaps, however they were out of the ones for purchase, so a staff member hooked me up with some as a gift! If we ever return to the UK we will definitely spend a few days here! I can't say enough good things about this hotel and staff. I didn't want to leave!!

It is an old hotel so there is no elevator, the stairs are very narrow, however there is just one flight and the staff took our luggage up for us. The floor boards are very squeaky. It does get quite loud at the pub on weekend nights, but they do close a little after 11 PM so as to not keep the guests awake.

Lovely old building, and they make great use of it. Pretty and very clean. Decorated nicely. The siting on the Thames is just wonderful, and the restaurant and bar have perfect views of it, both inside and out . Watching the boats go by is nice; there's a boating club just down the river so you see shells rowing by. Fabulous path along the Thames for walking. Staff are uniformly outgoing, friendly and helpful. Even though it's in busy Staines, the hotel's neighborhood is in a little pocket that is peaceful and seems almost like a village. There's a train station nearby so getting there from downtown London isn't bad. If you're willing to take a taxi or Uber it's not too far from Heathrow. We use it for a relaxing night or two before flying out. The three rooms we've had have all had beautiful views.

The upper rooms have a steep staircase ( but good railings and the staff are great about helping with your suitcases)

Everyone was extremely nice. It was great to sit by the Thames drinking a traditional English IPA. The dinner menu looks great--I am going to be in London for a few hours again soon, and if I can possibly fit it in, I'm going down for dinner and to say hi. Although I put N/A for the breakfast, that's because I wasn't hungry enough to go down. The breakfast was definitely available.

Not the hotel's fault but although it's close to Heathrow, Google does not give good transit information. You want to take bus 8; it runs every hour and goes straight to Staines. I would up taking a cab (set fare 40 pounts) because I didn't figure that out. But I took bus 8 back! The busstop is right in Terminal 5.

Fairly close to Heathrow for a last night or two stay (longish cab ride). Fabulous location tucked away in a pretty little neighborhood right on the Thames, with big windows overlooking the Thames, then outdoor seating on two levels. Boats can tie up for a drinik or lunch, and they do. Watch the shells row up and down, and boats going while you have there nice breakfast (or lunch or dinner) Really a lovely old-fashioned hotel on the water. The staff really were exceptionally nice. Some steep stairs, but the staff was great about helping with suitcases. There's a pretty walk along the Thames in both directions. We've now been there three times and go back as our last two nights before flying away. Also a great night away.

Our experience at the Swan hotel was wonderful! It’s a very fascinating building with a very good location . Our room was superb, cleaned and stylish , with a breathtaking view overlooking the river and we were welcomed with biscuits and other treats. In the room you’ll find everything you need for your stay and even more: not only is there a kettle with varieties of teas but also a coffee machine with pods and other kinds of flavoured coffee and chocolate. The members of the staff are all nice and efficient and our breakfast was amazing, very rich ! And there were a wide range of choices, even vegetarian. I would definitely recommend the Swan hotel to anyone ! And I really home to come back one day!

Everything! Room, atmosphere, staff, food

Lovely location and views from restaurant and room. Food was great for breakfast and dinner, went for an anniversary break. Menu for dinner was limited, but understandably was quality not quantity. Friendly staff on checking in, and checking on parking situation. Room was comfy and modern touches and nice coffee and tea in room.

Bedroom walls look tired, could do with fresh paint, stair carpet going up to 2nd floor had a massive stain on. In the Bathroom above mirror was missing a bulb which could have been put in. Generally room was a bit dusty in places. Parking was a little tricky until reassured by staff once you get the permit.

We got the last room and it was at the front, but it was still a very charming room. Waiting for us was a bottle of bubbly since we'd mentioned it was our 30th wedding anniversary (we were also attending the PGA Golf as part of the celebration - readers, that's the sort of girl I married). The facilities tea/coffee (huge variety) in the room were exceptional. We had a nice dinner downstairs that evening but were blown away by the quality of the breakfast. Better than very high end, famous London hotels we've stayed at!

The room/1st floor was slightly on the shabby side but this only added to the charm (for me). But the room was very clean.

The hotel is exceptionally quaint and clean with a unique view on the Thames. The room was clean and well appointed with both coffee machine and tea making facilities. I was given a portable AC unit as it was a bit of an issue in the 18th century! I am sure the room would be so cosy in Winter. For me the location was excellent as I had meetings close by, but be aware it is not close to Central London. Staff was very courteous and the breakfast was delicious. Would surely revisit if my visit takes me in that location.

Room itself was very cozy. Comfortable bed. Warm friendly staff. waterfront room given upon request which was great. Coffee machine and assorted tea, coffee and chocolate was really nice. I had egg benedict for breakfast which was very tasty. we had dinner at the restaurant the first night. it was simple but tasty but slightly overpriced I would say. High street with restaurants and shopping centre is only 10 to 15 min walk.

Charming old pub right beside the river. The place was very welcoming after a long flight and conveniently close to Heathrow airport. The breakfast was outstanding. The staff were very friendly and professional.

It was a warm evening so people were sitting outside drinking and chatting right below my window. I wanted to keep the window open because the room was very warm, but the noise made it difficult to sleep, a situation no doubt exacerbated by my jetlag. As with other English accommodation, there was a ridiculously thick duvet on the bed, given that the room was already very warm indeed.
