Everything about this hotel was close to perfect from the staff to the location to the food! Dinner was phenomenal! The hotel is dog friendly and the families with dogs dine in a separate room from those without. The steak was so delicious we would book again just for that!! The room we had was pretty big, nicely decorated and had a view of the hills and river that was to die for. Ample parking, friendly staff, wonderful. The area surrounding the hotel was lovely and we went for a walk around it. There's a lovely bench beside the river and plenty of outdoor seating. The bed was by far the most comfortable I'd slept in at any hotel.
Only small things! The water at reception hadn't been changed in the morning when we grabbed a glass and the apple juice at breakfast had a broken tap that wouldn't pour. The bathroom was a bit of an issue. If you're on the larger size it might be wise to call ahead and ask for a larger/ accessible bathroom as it is very cramped and I couldn't squeeze into the shower that has a sliding door without help from my other half. The gas shower also didn't keep warm which I presume may be caused by old pipes/plumbing not keeping pressure. Despite these issues, the stay was still 100% worth it and I am eager to return!

The hotel is in an excellent location and the staff were very nice, polite and gave great customer service. The room was nicely presented and facilities were excellent. The restaurant and bar are really good and the food for both breakfast and dinner was great. I particularly like the dinner menu because it wasn't over the top and had a nice selection which meant every dish was prepared very well. The rooms are very secure and there's lift access for the floors. Parking is ample but it can get busy in the evenings but there always seemed to be enough room for everyone. I was on a motorbike and the car park is good hard standing, keeping the bike secure.

Pleasantly surprised how lovely this hotel was for the price we paid. The rooms have been upgraded to a good standard with modern en-suites and comfortable bedrooms. Quality towels and bedding too. We stayed in a dog friendly room which was spotless and they also provided a dog bed, treats and a water bowl for my 2 shitzus. The hotel itself has a warm welcoming atmosphere which made it ideal for an autumn break away. It also sits in a beautiful setting by Loch Tay which offers lovely walks. We will definitely be back soon!
Little not to like but some staff seemed more approachable than others but I am a stickler for good customer service, also we had dinner one evening which I thought was average, but with both these things I am being picky! It will definitely not stop us from going back as we thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Killin Hotel.

Easy to find and park. Staff were friendly and check in was smooth. Our room was cosy and well appointed . Needed to ask for more tea bags but that's a minor. Dog bed , .metal bowl and a big bag of dog treats were provided. One very happy pooch !! Good choices on the menu for evening meal and a lovely ambience. Soft trad scottish music playing - nice. Food was delicious and arrived promptly. Staff were lovely. Pooch gives it 5/5 on Pupadvisor
The hotel is old building which has been updated but is still a little tired in places ( high traffic areas ) but nothing a lick of paint here and there wouldn't solve. Some of the decor items are a bit random but now I'm just being picky.

The Killin Hotel is a classic Scottish hotel, it’s an old building in a beautiful location by the river. The rooms are clean, comfortable and well-equipped with good amounts of storage, a hairdryer, iron, tea/coffee station and tv. The bathroom might be a bit small for some but it was fine for us and the water pressure was good. We had great views of the river from our room and the bed was really comfortable. The meal we had at the restaurant was fantastic, huge portions for a reasonable price and really good service. The staff throughout our stay were great and super-friendly.

Amazing location, I couldn’t stop looking out over the river. I got upgraded from a double room with river views to a four poster bed corner room (room 17) with river views. Lovely room with character and a lots of space. The staff was very friendly. Diner surprised me, I had steak and all pie with crisps and mixed vegetables. The crips where chunky and crispy, the vegetables where cooked to al dente perfection and the puff pastry was puffy-ing, a simpel dish but very well prepared.
Just a couple of things. The restaurant interior in the conservatory needs an upgrade. I had to change my chair because it was unstable and wobbly. The seat fabric and walls are stained. The floor was dirty and slippery from what I think was oil or something. Needs new furniture and a good cleaning. The duvet and duvet cover need replacing, it’s worn out and old.

Lovely hotel, lovely staff, food was good, plenty of choices to eat. Breakfast was lovely and plentiful, you only had to ask. They even catered for our German shepherd, who was delighted to be given freshly cooked sausages on both mornings. Well stocked bar, bit expensive, but everything has gone up, so you've got understand why. Hotel lovely and nice and warm with the log fire in the bar.
We have been coming here for 15 years and it was a shame that we had to bring up a complaint with the manageress, who I must say was very apologetic. The only let down, was from the room cleaner When we arrived, coffee, tea etc had not been stocked up. After the first night we went out in the village. We came back late at night at 9pm, to find our room had not been touched, no clean towels and no toilet roll. We ended up having to get toilet roll etc from the manageress who was on the bar at the time. Our room wasn't the only room untouched, as our friend who was in the next room, was in the same predicament. Not cleaned, no replacement towels and no toilet roll.

I've been coming here for 25 years, and the food at the moment Jan 2024 is the beat there has ever been. So, whoever your chef is, you need to hold onto him. We were with another couple of friends, so we stayed in the annexe for the first time ever. The rooms were loveley and we we had a small adjoining vestibule which was nice. So whoever allocated these rooms mast have knew we were going to be noisy with all the laughter 😃. However we really missed the view so it's back to the hotel rooms in future. There was a good hairdryer in the room, and the underfloor hearing was cozy, so don't leave your carryout or chocolate on the floor 😃 .
The drinks are overpriced and if the Falls of Dochart or Shutters had been opened, then we would have drank there but they have a captive audience in January. They are short staffed and that could be down to the season however we seen 6 Hill walkers come in for lunch, and no one was around to serve them so they just left. 99% of the staff are loveley but there is just one that needs to learn how to crack a smile .

A lovely traditional hotel, in a great location, just a short walk from the Falls of Dochart. After weeks of rain, the Falls were in full flow and very impressive. Our room was warm and comfortable, with all the extras expected in a good hotel. Some of the interior fire doors were looking a bit tired, but it appears that these are being replaced in turn. Dinner in the restaurant was very good, and the breakfast did not disappoint. Good choice for that area.
Some interior decor looking a bit tired.

Friendly staff Comfortable Good atmosphere Good location Beautiful surroundings Food was very good Restaurant staff were very attentive Beds made with fresh clean sheets and were very comfortable! Had a very restful sleep. Room sizes excellent
Bedroom was tired looking and required more attention to detail - Dust on lamps and bulbs Dirty marks on doors In the ensuite - taps, shower tray, the cover waste trap and tube cup were left very dirty. Just needs a good deep clean! TV could do with being bigger
