Great location, deluxe room was fantastic - very comfortable and warm, loved the open coal fires in the lounge bar areas Good room service
Meal times restaurant - nice food, little hiccup with our evening main meals not coming together, had to wait another 10 minutes for mine to arrive - waitress did apologise and the main meal was taken of final bill. Breakfast time - would be better for table service for hot food and just buffet for rest - congested at times through door ways to get your food - cereal table in totally wrong place in corridor adjacent to doorway, juggling to put milk on on small table area

Quiet room Very professional staff in the restaurant Interior decor Molton Brown toiletries The grounds The choice of shower heads Full-body mirror Plenty of lights, including a reading one
Dark car park - even though there are lights there I think bigger / more signs which building is reception would be helpful A bit hard to get to as it’s a bit in the middle of nowhere and the main road is very dark too. Once you stop the car and look around, you can see some signs that just aren’t very visible when you’re driving (at least the first time you’re trying to get there) I couldn’t use the regular shower head as the water pressure was very weak. It was fine using the waterfall head. The chair at the desk - too low for the desk and although comfortable, not great if you had a couple of hours of work to do. You sink in it too and you’re even lower then. I’m 5f6” so not that tiny.

A lovely historic building in a beautiful setting. Our room was in the main building and overlooked the picturesque grounds. It was charming and very comfortable. The guest information folder contained interesting information about the history of this fascinating place. The many original period features and cosy fireplaces enhance the ambiance of the place. The staff were pleasant and helpful. We also enjoyed using the Spa facilities - the lovely pool and the steam room & sauna - which are available to hotel guests. We had a lovely meal in the restaurant and an excellent breakfast. All in all, we very much enjoyed our stay.

This was a beautiful stately and perfectly appointed place to stay. We consider our accommodation choices carefully when choosing them as they contribute to our overall travel experience. This property was easily a 10 out of 10 on all levels. The staff were helpful. The room was fantastic. The bed was comfortable. The food was delicious. It was easy to park our car. The grounds were perfectly kept and the manner itself had been kept in pristine condition. I will also add that the staff were very helpful and very polite. I would recommend this property to anyone who considers their accommodation as part of their journey.

Staff excellent, breakfast super, lovely log fires and very christmasy
Bar food expensive for what we had. Doors banging in the magnolia barn. Poorly lit path down to the spa

Fantastic choice at breakfast, sat in a lovely panelled dining room. The room was nice and comfortable, lovely clean sheets and towels. Toiletries included in the bathroom. The building is stunning, lots of history and beautiful grounds. The fires in the panelled areas made it very cosy.
Dining in the bar was difficult at the low tables, it was great for a drink but not idea for eating. The spa offered treatments and the pool was really nice but the sauna and steam room were very small and there were no other facilities. We thought there might be a few more things, or the sauna and steam room a bit bigger as it was tight to get in.

Gorgeous location and historical listed building. Outside and the interiors of the main house were quite special. Surrounding grounds were also well looked after and beautiful. We also enjoyed the complimentary use of the Spa facilities, free towels, and robes, plus Toilettries. We stayed in the barn, nicely decorated spacious room. Snacks and breakfast were lovely, but I was disappointed with the evening meal, plus no reasonable priced red wine. All staff were very, very friendly, helpful, and warm in their interactions. However, it was a thoroughly enjoyable stay.
Rooms weren't ready for check-in and we had a bit of a wait. Got cold in the barn rooms during the night

Most of the staff were extremely helpful, friendly and welcoming. The room was clean and cosy and communal areas comfortable. The grounds are lovely- would like to return in sunnier weather to enjoy them. Bar staff particularly attentive, providing lap trays as the tables in the bar were low.
Having a buffet breakfast is a little disappointing. A set of drawers in the room would have made it possible to unpack instead of living out of a suitcase for 3 nights. One day the tea tray wasn't restocked properly but this was easily rectified by the friendly receptionist..

Overall this was a very pleasant stay. The premises and room were first rate. The staff were also very good with only one exception. Breakfast was exceptional, One of the best hot buffets I have experienced. Lunchtime snacks and dinner also very good again with one exception, as below. The Spa facilities awere also of the first order. The location of the premises is stunning.
The dining room has a mixture of tables. For two persons there are square and round topped ones. We always asked for a square one as in our opinion the round ones did not provide sufficient space to dine comfortably. On the second evening we were kept waiting as the Restaurant Manager was absent from the point from where you congregate prior to being seated. One of the waitresses had to go and find him. No apology was given. After the meal I commented that the soup had been tasteless. I was not given a reply and the person seemed unconcerned.

Beautiful property and grounds. Friendly staff.
Breakfast service too late to be used on one day of stay - I could have checked this more carefully on booking, but most properties I stay with accommodate an earlier breakfast. When booking an evening meal it would have been nice to have been informed of a dress code - having to go and change on arrival is inconvenient, furniture in restaurant is tired - I sat at a table sharing a sofa with the next table where we had to take care to sit still as it wobbled a lot and felt like it could collapse. Spiral staircase you are directed to use to reach rooms on first floor is difficult to use safely with a suitcase, stairs from bar although not signed connect to first floor and are much easier/safer to use.
