Stayed for seven nights while visiting friends and family. Found the place very friendly with good food and very good basic facilities. There are plenty of shops and restaurants in the bustling metropolis of Pontardawe, should you be considering an alternative for food or need to lay in supplies. Breakfasts were fabulous (cockles and laver bread!) and were sorely missed when I moved on. Will definitely be staying again the next time I'm home.

Very minor gripes really, I found the stairs a bit of a struggle, but I do have limited mobility due to arthritis. Place probably wouldn't be suitable for a wheelchair user. Also, parking space in the car park is limited so if that's an issue, is something to consider.

Breakfast was excellent and the staff were very helpful. The Pub has exceptional food which is good value for money.

The rooms are basic and are in need of refurbishing. The TV in the room was small and the mattress needed replacing for a comfortable memory foam one or something similar. The bathrooms needs more hooks and some shelves to put toiletries on. Although relatively clean there was dust on top of the wardrobes and on the sky TV box and on the back of the TV. These are small details, however, if fixed would improve the overall quality and experience of the guests stay. The curtains and blinds are old and don't work well and should be replaced.

We are a middle aged couple with an older couple (parents) We visited our family. It was a good choice for us because our family live nearby. It was a brilliant location because it's in the heart of Pontardawe. When we arrived a helpful staff member carried our cases upstairs, which was thoughtful. The staff were friendly. We would recommend the breakfast option. It wasn't a buffet, it was a lot better. On our first morning it was a very nice breakfast we asked for a full English which we got but on our second morning we were given a menu to order from which was much better. It was a vast menu. On both mornings the breakfasts were superb. We had a tasty good value for money curry buffet on our first evening followed by a fun, informal entertaining quiz. It was a good concept because instead of writing things down, you shouted out the answers.

We used our milk and teabags on our first night, but they weren't replenished for our second night so I had to ask. There wasn't a hairdryer in our room, so I had to borrow one from the room that my parents-in- law were staying in .

The pub- hotel is in the centre of town. It has some car parking facilities. Staff were friendly, helpful and professional. My room was simple, but clean and comfortable. The price was good and a included a good breakfast was included! The pub also has a great evening menu.! It is within eazy reach of the M4, Swansea and the Gower.

The only issue is that the shower became hot at one point! This may have been a fault, but may have been my inability to use it correctly?

Everything was perfect. Beautiful place in the peaceful area with astonishing view on the flowing river. I saw Kingfisher in the morning and it was very exciting experience, because I love birds and I saw this one in the wild first time in my life. Besides bed was very comfortable, radiator warmed up quickly. Bathroom was clean and towels was fresh, easy access to charging point in the room. Very kind, friendly and helpful staff, very tasty breakfast and very good atmosphere in the restaurant. All perfect for me, I will recommend to anyone who want stay in this area. Thank you very much.

Despite a slight mix up about the day I was arriving (I had changed my booking on the website but this message didn’t get through to the hotel), the staff were extremely welcoming and took the time to show me around my room, and also let me know I could get dinner downstairs if I wanted. The room was, clean, and comfortable. The rooms are above the pub, so there was naturally a bit of noise from the pub below - but not enough to bother me and it didn’t go on late. Bed was fine, shower hot, tv worked well, Wi-Fi was working, loads of tea and coffee in the room. What more do you need? The man doing breakfasts was very friendly. Breakfast cooked to order - and it was huge! The place represents excellent value. I paid £45 including breakfast. Not sure what I was expecting for this price, but it exceeded expectations. I’m sure this place isn’t marketing itself as a 5 start luxury hotel, but it does what is does excellently: a no-nonsense good honest place to get some sleep and a fantastic breakfast. Would definitely recommend and stay here again.

Only thing I didn't like was walking into the pub to get my room key as I wasn't dressed for a night out and was only using the room to make it easier for Swansea half marathon. Staff member was pleasant, the room was huge bed very comfy and nice hot water for my shower. I slept with earplugs and didn't hear anything.

Just that I had to walk into the bar area, I felt I had a few looks from the locals when I walked in. That's my only negative everything else was perfect.

We were a group of 4 friends travelling in the area and stopped at Dillwyn Arms for a night. The staff waitress was very chill (although busy with her job in the pub), helpful and made us feel welcome within 1st minute of our arrival. The room was spacious enough, clean, well equipped with TV, bathrooms and comfy beds, and could accommodate a group of friends or a family with 2 kids. Whilst this bar/restaurant/B&B is in centre of Pontardawe town (20min outside of Swansea), few mins walk away from centre, the location is quiet and no disturbance from the busy pub downstairs or from the nearby street. There's a nice beer-garden and a parking for customers so no problem on that side either.

This accommodation is better suited for travellers moving around with a car. If you plan to experience Swansea nightlife downtown, that place may not be the best choice for you. Otherwise, its a great place to stay when travelling around at and Id highly recommend.
