It was the most spacious room I have ever experienced - on the ground floor in its own little annexe, which meant we were less likely to be disturbed by any events at the hotel. This afforded a safe space for me and my dog and sufficient comfort for me to spend an afternoon reading. The grounds were sufficiently spacious for gentle dog strolls at either end of the day yet gave direct access to more extensive country walks so that I could avoid driving. I enjoyed the opportunity to keep my dog with me for meals in the bar and for breakfast in a clearly defined area in the hotel, where he was treated to a carefully prepared sausage in a dog bowl. The staff genuinely enjoyed welcoming dogs and every guest. I also appreciated the care taken over the plantbased dishes - yes, only one option for breakfast and one on the bar menu, but both were imaginative, balanced, and delicious. Teas and coffees in the apartment were the same high quality as those served in the restaurant. When staff said, 'If there's anything you need, just ask', it felt genuine: we needed nothing, but would have felt comfortable asking.
Nothing. I guess anyone allergic to or very frightened of dogs might feel uncomfortable, but I thought the dog policy was sensible, and sufficient care had been taken to ensure separate areas.

Breakfast was excellent. Staff were very welcoming, helpful and gave very good service. Appreciated the coffee making facilities in the room.
We were given an upgraded room (which always makes me suspicious) and sure enough it was the oak room which looked onto the entrance to a wedding event. So there was some noise and disturbance outside our room. I have to say this was not too bad but it does make me wonder (cynically) about the 'value' of upgrades and what thinking goes on behind these. The bathroom floor of the oak room could have been cleaner (corners, and behind pipes). Needs attention beyond the normal daily clean. Sink design meant that got splashed every time turned on tap. Drinks very expensive.

Room was amazing, so big, which was a result with 2 dogs The receptionist was lovely & helpful A lovely little woodland walk for the dogs
The breakfast chef who was unable to deviate from the menu - I ordered 2 slices of GF toast, 2 lightly cooked Bacon & avocado I got 2 slices of GF toast, with avocado on, 2 poached eggs & 2 well done / crispy bacon ?? Being charged twice for our evening meal & didn't know about it, till I was checking out - next time I would get a receipt/ copy - turned out to be an IT glitch, but lucky I checked !

This place is phenomenal. The building itself is beautiful, the room was exceptionally clean and has absolutely everything you need. I travelling with my 2 dogs and were allocated an outside room, like a little cottage, own parking space & front door, so no piloting 2 large dogs down corridors, stairs etc
Very little i didn't like, if I had to be picky the towel rail in the bathroom was permanently on and very hot. Also where we were situated we had a delivery right outside the windows just before 6am who wasn't very considerate.

The Hare and Hounds Hotel is an absolutely beautiful place to stay. The restaurant and bar had a lovely, cozy atmosphere, the food and service were excellent, and the drawing room and library were perfect for enjoying a glass of wine or coffee by the fire. I stayed in a room in the main building, which was beautiful, spacious, clean, and well-equipped with great amenities. The breakfast was delicious and offered everything you could want (and more). The staff were incredibly welcoming and friendly, which really enhanced my stay. As a solo female traveler visiting a slightly remote area (although there are many great destinations just a few minutes’ drive away), staying at a hotel can feel a bit daunting. However, I felt completely relaxed and safe, allowing me to fully enjoy my stay. The reception team also put me in contact with a local chauffeur service (Steven) and he was incredibly friendly and took me to a couple of different locations around Tetbury. He was very reasonably priced, provided a 10/10 service and I would highly recommend him if you have travelled by the train and need to get around the Cotswolds. I'm honestly surprised this hotel isn't rated 5 stars, as it’s one of the loveliest and coziest hotels I’ve stayed at, with every little detail thoughtfully considered by the management team. I would absolutely stay here again and highly recommend it!
Nothing, it was perfect

Welcoming staff, lovely good sized room and excellent bathroom. Did like to the old wood furniture, nice touch compared to the clinical cold modern rooms that seem in vogue. Breakfast was excellent, good choice, well prepared. Would definitely stay again but would ask for different room to see how compared.
The mattress was initially comfortable however we ended up waking up several times in the night and felt achy in the morning. One off? Mattress replacement time? Score for this reason, otherwise 10.

Every staff member I came into contact with was friendly, helpful and very well trained (even though many seemed to be temporary summer staff). The evening dinner (off the bar menu) was delicious and it was a bonus that the night of our stay it was a very hot evening and therefore my friend and I could sit outside and eat in the garden. The breakfast was also excellent. I had a single room which, whilst small, was well equipped and the en-suite bathroom was large. There was plenty of parking.
No air conditioning in my room - the temperature was at 25.5C all night, even though I opened the window (in spite of road noise). I asked for a fan - and got one - but it was still an uncomfortable night. I hadn't noticed at the time of booking that there was no air con in the room I had booked - if I had, I wouldn't have booked and would then have missed out on an otherwise lovely experience at the hotel. So perhaps it was just as well that I hadn't noticed the lack of air con at the time of booking ?? I would definitely stay at the hotel again - but only in colder weather.

staff were exceptionally friendly, professional and helpful. Nothing was too much bother. Very impressed that, although a single room, bed bigger than a single, everything very well placed, given size. Bathroom excellent. Amazed to find iron, ironing board, heater and fan all neatly stored. All common areas were lovely. Restaurant great/ well bar. Staff so lovely. Big car park. I loved it.
Room not enormous, but big enough and, given I could have paid less for other chains, and not been half as satisfied, I don't really have anything I didn't like. It really is a lovely hotel.

This is really an exceptional hotel . We had a superior room which was very good standard .Staff very professional and helpful. Facilities were excellent . Breakfast and evening meal super . We had one of the best fillet steaks we ever experienced.Car parking convenient just outside the front of the hotel. The grounds were kept beautifully , plenty of seating outside Jack hares bar . Also very very close to Highgrove, which we visited.
Nothing at all.

Staff very helpful Very comfy bed Hot efficient shower Dinner excellent
No tissues or shower gel in the room. The hotel advertises Morton and Brown toiletries in the room so assumed there would be shower gel. On the first morning asked for just baked beans and black pudding for my cooked breakfast so was disappointed just to receive one very thin slice of black pudding and a spoonful of baked beans thought perhaps the amount of food might have been increased.
