Food was excellent and hosts amazingly attentive as well as showing an interest in their guests, they offered helpful suggestions on where to go locally. Hotel felt welcoming on entrance. ultimately the hotel is good value for money and I'd stay again.

Room temperature was a little cold for my comfort and could not be changed. Shower pressure weak but temperature acceptable although towel supplied was on the small side for an adult. Some road noise but not enough to put me off staying again. TV signal not great.

The twin/double on-suite room was a decent size for a old building. The decor was fresh and clean.

They had joined the twin bed into a double which I had requested, but there was a ridge or height drop between the two making impossible to use as a double comfortably, unfortunately. I was also looking for a longer lie, but my timing was out as the recycling lorry for the empty glass bottles arrived and you know what sound that makes when being emptied from a great height. The price of a pint was a bit of a shock, dearer than my home city.

Amazing staff. Customer service was impeccable. Any question I had was answered promptly. Anything that they could do to help they did. An amazing hidden gem. I almost don't want to tell anyone about this place , its so lovely. We booked the Kings Arms as we were attending a wedding in the area. I asked about check in times, taxis. Possibility to check in early. We arrived met by a lovely lady on the bar who showed us to our room. She was very friendly and made us feel instantly welcome. The room was super clean. Spotless. We ate lunch, which was really tasty and well priced. Breakfast...wow! Absolutely perfect. Thank you so much for a lovely stay. You were so accommodating and really did go above and beyond. 10 out of 10, and we would love to stay again

We had booked to stay Thursday and Friday night. On the Wednesday we were phoned and asked if we were planning to eat in on Thursday night. We were glad they did because every table was full, mostly with non-residence and we could understand why as the food was very good. All of the staff were pleasant and made us feel at home in what is obviously a very popular local pub. The King's Arms is well located for visiting several National Trust properties.

There was nothing to dislike apart from the tight stairs, but even they added to the character of the place and caused us no problems.

It is conveniently located for visiting nearby Newby Hall and the Harrogate Autumn Flower Show. The chef was able to cater for my severe food allergies and adapt menu dishes to suit. The food was flavoursome and well presented. Staff were friendly and helpful. Apart from very soft pillows, the room was very comfortable and clean, with tea/coffee facilities. Wifi access code was clearly available, and the signal strength was good for my needs. As a solo traveller, I felt very safe.

I'm used to sleeping on a firm pillow, so If I'd known in advance that the pillows in my room were soft featherdown ones, I would have taken my own ... though to be fair to the hotel, I didn't think to ask at the time if firmer ones were available.

I’ve stayed many times - very handy to stay fairly close to the A1 Room comfortable & clean, breakfast minimal but freshly prepared.

I arrived on Sunday evening to find that the restaurant had finished serving earlier than advertised. I understand the staff need time off, but that should’ve been made clear when I booked. The room is subject to early morning commuting traffic noise, even though the location appears to be a quiet village.

The food was excellent, both breakfast and the evening meal. The fillet steak I had was as good if not better than any I've had previously (and I hadn't had a drink at this point) The staff were friendly and attentive. You could tell the owner/chef is proud of this wonderful place and rightly so

The rooms were good but I would have liked easier access to the sockets to plug in my phone charger. The water was exceptionally hot, which was fine for myself once id found out but some could be caught out The remote batteries were flat but were quickly sorted.

Room was spotless, bed was comfortable, lovely clean bathroom. Food in restaurant was lovely. Breakfast was excellent!

Dinner in the evening - service was slow. Only seemed to be one member of staff for a busy area. Other members of staff were spliting there time between bar and restaurant. Also we were in the front rooms over the bar, which was busy when we arrived and the noise could be heard in the room, thankfully it had quietened down when we came back from dinner.

The staff I spoke to were all brilliant and exceptionally friendly. The food was incredible (Beef & Chorizo Lasagna, The Kings Arms Mars Cheesecake and also the included fried breakfast 🤤). The location is quiet and away from tlany main roads. I had a chat with the owner, and he is an absolute gentleman. I booked this location to stay in whilst taking part in a very long cycle event. The owner offered me exclusive use of a spare room to store my bike freeing up space in my own room. I've never received such brilliant service and genuine friendliness. Should I ever take part in the bike event again, I will happily return!!

Good food evening and morning. Friendly greeting and service, with plenty of tea / coffee available in the room.

Parking was a little exposed for a motorcycle as I watched two separate drivers struggle to manoeuvre around my bike (their poor driving skills as I was parked squarely in the middle of a marked bay). Evening menu was a little "curry heavy", limiting my choices - a couple of curry spices and my stomach do NOT agree!!
