Overall we love this hotel. We prefer to stay in the main hotel which was able to be arranged on this occasion and our request for rooms next door to each other was also met. The rooms are great. I hate corporate hotels (we all know the ones we mean!) and the Rose and Crown is ideal with bedroom windows that actually open, lovely old wood floors, individual decor etc.

Our only slight issue this time was with the breakfast in that it appeared to be on a buffet service but the heat had been switched off which meant it was cold! However, the staff quickly remedied this and provided freshly cooked breakfast with the same great produce which we always get at this hotel. I believe the hotel is not able to offer lunch and dinner at the moment which does not affect us directly but may have been the reason for the slight breakfast issue.

Hotel is feeling a bit tired e.g. single glaze windows. Bathroom needs coat of paint.

The breakfast was delicious. Id recommend the scrambled eggs done to perfection as was the fried toast and toast. Lovely sausage and well cooked fried eggs aswell. Staff very quick to serve you when you went for your breakfast

I got a malibu and coke and a small coke one night and it came to £6. On the Sunday I got malibu and coke a small coke and a small lemonade yet that came to £10 so someone had the prices wrong. The window in the bedroom wouldnt shut right. There was also the moths every night when you put the lights on. Trying to get the shower to the right temperature was difficult was either too warm or cold(bath was also very slippy). The decor was better this time and the picture was aswell but there was wallpaper coming off the wall. The wardrobe aswell also had bits missing. However apart from that the bed was comfy enough and the tv worked and apart from one day (when id a seizure during the night) the room was always tidied.

The Teas, coffee and biscuits was a nice touch. The staff could not have been more friendly and helpful. The rooms were a decent size. Parking was great at no extra cost even though you are in the town where the car parks charge quite a lot to park. We would stay again.

The room was a bit dated, I believe it’s all going to have a makeover. The shower was a bit slow but the bathroom and the room itself was very clean. I hope there will be double glazing to prevent the traffic noise. This did not spoil our stay.

I loved this hotel. Loads of character. I was in one of the older rooms. The floors are uneven, the doors and ceilings low (I am tall!), but that all adds to its charm. Staff mostly friendly, breakfast staff perhaps a little grumpy, but then I don't blame them given the time they need to get up! Ok, it's not a Hilton Gardens or DoubleTree, but it's not trying to be. I'd stay again.

Shower pressure a little poor, but it was adequate and I know these things are hard in older properties to get right. I could have done with a socket or usb port by the bed.

The hotel was lovely staff we’re great however I was woken in the early hours by the bin truck and traffic as it is on the main road, it was so hot we had to have window open but when the window was closed the noise from the road was quite loud. If I stayed again I would request a room at the bck of the property. Other than that which is not the hotels fault I would recommend them

“Room” Room was comfortable, with comfy bed, tea and coffee making facility etc. The size of the room( I stayed in a single bed) is also very good-very happy about that.the only complaint that I sadly have is the shower didn’t work well. But that was quite manageable as it is still summer and I enjoyed having a cold shower. I was very impressed with the cleanliness and neatness of the room. “ Breakfast” Breakfast was good. I was given Soya milk even though I didn’t specify my intolerance to Lactose. So I do appreciate the ability to cater to different food requirements. “Location” I love the location of the Hotel, which is actually situated in the middle of the town centre which is so easy to commute to different locations and even walk to the train station.

The hand held shower in the bathroom could have been well maintained in the working condition. I’ve no other complaints to make.

Great location for the castle/river and nearby restaurants/bars etc The hotel for a short stay is a reasonable experience and staff were really friendly

Room was a little dimly lit but not really a big issue as didn't spend much time in the room at night beyond sleeping Room got very hot during the night, think even a small fan during the summer months would be appreciated for guests in the upper floor rooms.

On the main road in central Tonbridge, 15min walk from the railway station. Set in a traditional coaching inn with twisty corridors and random steps, my first floor single room was spacious and well equipped. The bathroom was adequate with WC, sink and mirror, shower and large towel rail. Room featured, large wardrobe, bedside table, bedside power socket, dressing table with chair and mirror, additional side chair. Two opening windows with additional glazing, heavy blackout curtains and view over main road. Internal connecting doors to next room.

Main road outside, lots of traffic noise and Friday night revellers (according to the map on the rear of the door very few rooms are over the main road so may be quieter further back). Windows and extra glazing did little to block out the noise. Room was very hot, not helped by the towel rail in the bathroom being on full. Sadly I had a neighbouring guest who decided to smoke, the smell of which filled my room via the inter-connecting doors (I do hope he was charged the £200 cleaning fee!)

Very convenient for me room very comfortable two of us ate in the restaurant it was ok staff exceptional but I hope the hotel gets a chance to be what it should and could be an asset to Tonbridge I stay often and bring friend's and family

See above I get sad when It could be wonderful and buzzing I am 67 and I was 30 years old when I first visited time has not been kind and that is a shame well done for trying under very difficult circumstances thankyou and I will stay again.
