Upon arrival we were met by Gary who instantly made us both feel very welcome and at home. When he found out it was my son's wedding he offered to iron our clothes if needed. The hotel is without a doubt the best we have ever stayed in. The decor is out of this world and our room instantly felt like home. 5 star rating is simply not enough for this gem of a place. Then after the most amazing sleep we had the best breakfast. The produce was local and obviously cooked with love. We can't wait to come back and stay again.

The only thing we didn't like was having to leave such a beautiful place run by beautiful people.

Easy to find , safe parking, beautiful house inside and out and a personal greeting on arrival by a wonderful host! The hotel is a thoughtfully designed perfect blend of quintessentially British architecture with a subtle Thai twist, hard to picture but I assure you it’s a delight :) Gary and Philip are both born hoteliers, their passion for providing a warm and welcoming environment is a breath of fresh air. Immaculate rooms, very comfortable, warm and extremely well equipped. Breakfast cooked to order, high standard of ingredients and I can highly recommend Philips perfect scrambled eggs 10/10

Loved everything

A warm welcome from Gary and Philip, amazing hosts! Anything we needed, they were there at the ring of a bell or a phone call. They are both very passionate about their b&b (actually I'd describe it more as a boutique hotel rather than a b&b) and this is clear to see in the way they treat their guests and how they maintain their property. The Torcroft is stunning! The decor is absolutely beautiful with so many lovely finishing touches, and they keep it spotlessly clean. We were originally supposed to be staying at a travelodge with a large group of family and friends but we left it a little late to book and the price had gone up so I decided to look for something else. As soon as I found the Torcroft, I booked it as it was amazing value for money with breakfast included, a free parking space and a short walk to the town centre. We had a freshly cooked hot breakfast each morning with the option of extra cereals, toast and jams, yogurts etc. Breakfast was delicious! Can't recommend this place enough and will definitely stay here again if we visit Torquay in the future or we will enquire about Gary and Philips apartments if we bring our children and dog next time. Thank you so much Gary and Philip for looking after us, we had a lovely weekend at the Torcroft.

There was nothing we didn't like! Everything was perfect!

Everything about our stay at the Torcroft was great, starting with the location which was great, getting to the marina was a short walk down the hill and along the coast path or alternatively along the rock walk. The room was lovely with a comfy bed and the bar area and breakfast room were both beautifully decorated. The breakfast was fabulous, we stayed long enough to try a lot of the options on their menu and everything was delicious. Gary and Philip were also very lovely hosts and extremely helpful. They made lots of good suggestions for places to visit nearby and thanks to those tips we visited lots of lovely places near Torquay we wouldn't have otherwise thought to visit. We didn't quite manage to visit everywhere they recommended so will definitely be returning in the future!

The Torcroft was up a short incline which was great as many of the hotels/guesthouses are a lot higher up in this quite hilly resort. It was about ten minutes walk on the flat to the town and most of the restaurants although there are a few quite near the hotel. The breakfast was plentiful with a few different choices. There was a lovely honesty bar in the lounge with a fantastic variety of beers, wines and spirits. The owners are a lovely couple of guys who made us feel really welcome.

The room was lovely and comfortable but a bit smaller than we had anticipated for a standard room. Plenty of tea & coffee with fresh milk in the fridge downstairs to help yourself to…although no biccies to have with an afternoon cuppa. The “buffet” part of the breakfast was in fact table service. I personally would have preferred to choose my own buffet food so that I could control how much cereal, etc., I wanted…the portions were quite large. Please note that these are not criticisms, merely my observations and personal choice. This is a fabulous, friendly small hotel and we would definitely visit again.

We the best time at Philip and Gary’s beautifully renovated character B&B. They are both truly wonderful hosts, and nothing is too much trouble for them to keep their guests happy. Our twin room was a good size with great amenities such as a coffee machine and selection of teas. Loved the room decor as well. The private bathroom had rain and standard shower heads and a heated towel rail. The daily breakfast was a highlight with a great selection of cold and hot and cold options. And the honesty bar was a nice touch too. Philip and Gary were very helpful with tips on where to visit and dine. And even thought the weather was not great we had a wonderful time. I’d highly recommend this lovely B&B and cracking hosts!

Nothing at all

Torcroft is in a great location to explore the southwest portion of the UK, the English Rivera, Penzance, St. Michael’s, St. Ives, and Cornwall. This B&B was beautifully restored and impeccably clean. Comfortable rooms, modern bathrooms, delicious breakfast and delightful hosts. Private parking is also a huge plus. Phillip and Gary gave us a great overview of this area providing us with a wide variety of things to enjoy. Truly, we can’t say enough about how much we enjoyed our visit.

The Owner Phillip met us on our arrival…. He went through all the procedures at their hotel. He explained all that was on offer from Breakfast choices to drinks at their most Amazing Bar and Refreshments. Also giving us local information and the best restaurants to visit. Our too. Was impeccably clean and fresh. The hotel or boutique was of the most excellent standard. The owners Gary and Phillip along with their 2 dogs have gone above and beyond to ensure their guest experience a truly memorable stay. The breakfast the next morning was simply the best I have ever had being a seasoned stayer I. Hotels and bed and breakfast accommodation for my work. So many choices from homemade yogurt to locally sourced meats. I can 100 % assure you you will not be disappointed staying with these guys who go to any Length to assure your satisfaction and a pleasant stay. We will be going back here for years to come.

Gary and Phillip were exceptional hosts. Torcroft was a beautiful, the property is in a great location and it was styled beautifully, such attention to detail throughout the property. The bedrooms had super comfy beds and tastfully styled. The lounge area with a very well stocked bar was a great space to enjoy some down time and a drink after a busy day of exploring. It felt like a home away from home. Gary and Philip were the kindest most enthusiastic hosts l have ever met. They shared their extensive knowledge of the region and helped us design a great itinerary for our day of exploring. Thank you so much for your hospitality we absolutely loved our stay at Torcroft

This is a fantastic place to stay and we would highly recommend it. Full of character and beautifully decorated throughout. Gary and Philip are super friendly and genuinely care about you having a great stay. The hotel is immaculate throughout and the bedroom has everything we needed. The bed, pillows and bedding were all top quality and it was very peaceful, given just how great the location is to the sea front. Breakfast was excellent, with top end ingredients and a massive shout out to Izzie who was looked after us at breakfast. She was super efficient, friendly and is a real star. This was our first time staying, but definitely won’t be our last.
