Lovely fabulous location amazing views from room with balcony although balcony didn't lock but felt safe good facilities staff excellent very friendly good parking options amd great location

Lovely only thing that was on downside was breakfast advertised at £15 I got charged £18 and it really wasn't worth it at all overcooked bacon and sausage snotty eggs and pastures a bit stale but a good selection and fruit and cereal available

We've been coming here for 20 years. It has gone downhill a bit but still great.

Undercooked bacon and sausages at breakfast and no fried eggs. Inedible fried bread harder than pork scratchings. Taking six attempts to get the car park barrier to let you out is annoying.

the hotel and location was amazing.

The petite lady who greeted us every morning For breakfast, on the very first morning, as she was talking us through where the different foods where, thought it was ok to slowly stare me and my partner up and down, from our shoes to our heads, one at a time, whilst standing a foot away from us. It was so blatant. We felt very uncomfortable around her and have never experienced this kind of rudeness in any hotels in our years of travelling. I don’t like to single anybody out, but when we’ve paid a lot of money to stay somewhere rudeness from staff for no reason, is unacceptable. This put a little taint on our trip and unfortunately we won’t be returning to this beautiful hotel.

The room was excellent , large and clean. The breakfast was very good with an excellent choice of food. Some of the staff in particular the bar staff were unhelpful and quite rude which was disappointing. The hotel itself is beautiful with stunning views.

Shower over the bath, in this modern day a walk in shower should be the norm, no USB socket in the room for charging our phones

The rooms were spacious; even the non sea view rooms were lovely. The staff were kind and attentive. The location was superb. The food was delicious (dinner / breakfast). I returned for a second visit; and Sandra was particularly gracious when booking my return visit via phone. It felt like I was being welcomed home before I even set foot on the property. I highly recommend the Imperial in Torquay.

Phenomenal views from our room and the breakfast room. The staff were very polite and helpful and the location (8 mins from the harbour) was ideal, as you're close to restaurants, but the hotel itself was in a quiet and picturesque spot. The outside pool and terrace was also great. Breakfast was £15 per adult and delicious - with full English and extensive continental. There's so many lovely parts of this hotel: we loved staying here and hope to come back.

No mini fridge. The decor of the rooms was perhaps a bit dated, however it did create a bit of 90s charm that we found rather endearing. No plugs by the bed.

The hotel was lovely and grand, the views over Torquay and Torbay were unbeatable. It is only a short walk into the harbour area (10m approx) but its important to note that the hotel is on a fairly steep hill so the walk back up can be a little challenging! At the harbour there are restaurants and also the Western Lady service, we took 2 boat trips with them to Brixham and to Dartmouth which we really enjoyed. Teignmouth is less than 30 mins drive away and the hotel is nicely located at the "right end" of town for Kents Cavern and Babbacombe. It was great to have the pool and spa although we didnt try the outdoor pool. The breakfast was great with plenty of vegetarian options. Staff were friendly and helpful and I was able to squeeze in a quick treatment in the spa before checkout which was lovely. Husband was pleased with the gym. On arrival we were advised we had been upgraded to a slightly larger room which was excellent. We'd be delighted to return.

We were very happy overall with our stay. The bed could have been softer and some things in the hotel were quite "tired" for example the furniture in the room had seen better days and the indoor pool area could do with a spruce up. Plus someone in the 1960s decided to hideously clad the outside of the building which is such a shame. The spa treatment I originally wanted was unavailable due to staff having not been trained for it which was a pity, but they did suggest an alternative which ended up being lovely.

Location is perfect, my 6th visit! View from balcony never disappoints and very handy to walk down to the harbour. My bed was very comfortable (it outweighed breakfast on some mornings). Possibly slightly outdated furnishings but I prefer this to ultra-modern because very comfortable. Staff were helpful, friendly and welcoming. I asked for a specific room again and they delivered - thank you!

Food, as in previous years, to me is an area for improvement. Choice at breakfast is incredible but quality of cooked breakfast is disappointing to the point where I skipped it for a lie-in a few times. Bar menu is limited and not great quality (lukewarm soup) and restaurant food also mixed quality for me. Shame that the outdoor pool was open so little this year, despite beautiful warm weather in mid-late September.

We stayed with our dog in see facing room with balcony on ground level It was close to garden doors so we could take dog to the garden for a walk There was pub in the hotel where dogs at allowed so we could spend evenings there Large car park where our car was kept at night

We were in the room where dogs are allowed so I understand that but when heating was on and was getting warm in the room it was smelling horribly, I needed to open large sliding doors even if was cold outside (no small window to open, only sliding doors) because I couldn’t breathe so I woke up in the middle of night and open and close the door
