Warm welcome and friendly service from manager and barmaid throughout the time we stayed; Decor & furnishings throughout were well presented and very comfortable - both in pub and room; Excellent food - we had lunch, dinner & breakfast; room was spacious, light and well equipped with huge bed

Breakfast is self service and is very well set out and provided for. Unfortunately the power was tripped at breakfast just before we arrived; However when owner arrived he quickly provided coffee and the situation rectified by the manager.

The room was clean and well equipped. It was quite a big room and so could have had a bigger TV as it was a long way away! That’s hardly a complaint as the room was very nice and we had a huge bathroom too. The welcome when we arrive was great, the food and beer in the pub downstairs was good. The breakfast is a help yourself continental breakfast, they have kettle, toaster and egg steamer for you to use. All the usual breakfast items and all good quality. Will be back if we are in the area again

The stairs are a little dark and a banister rail would be useful. Other than that I can’t find fault at all, very good place to stay.

We were met by the very friendly manager who took us to our lovely large bright room. There was large king size bed with a large en-suite bathroom with both separate bath and shower plus a selection of soaps, shower gels and shampoos. Dinner was excellent in the pub downstairs. Breakfast was self service mainly Continental style with a DIY egg boiler, toaster and microwave. No full English breakfast but everything was perfectly acceptable.

There was very little wrong with this hotel considering we used it as a one night stopover. Maybe there was a bit of noise from the pub below our room but it was not a problem.

Fantastic pub in very quiet village, more than adequate continental breakfast provided on a self service basis, very handy for early starts. Comfortable room, great shower, nice staff. We only had one evening meal, pizzas, but very very good, expensive but very generous size.

Rooms very hot, to be expected in a very old pub. Could provide a better fan with long cable to direct air better, could provide a thin bed sheet as an option in hot conditions, just a thought. We had 2 rooms, one double and 1 superior double. Couldn't tell much difference in the rooms given the price difference. Couple of issues with food and drinks ordered on different evenings which got forgotten and never appeared, seemed to be a bit of a staff shortage? None of the above would stop us returning, purely observations for management benefit

The owner and manager went out of their way to be friendly and helpful. The menu and the quality of the food at the bar and the restaurant were exceptional and the breakfast was a very good continental selection with the option of boiling your own eggs, which was great as that's all I normally eat anyway! The room we had was very clean , well presented and the bed very comfortable. The location is very rural so very quiet at night. Parking outside off the road was no problem.

The top (highest!) room at the Inn has a rather difficult stairway so I would avoid it if you have mobility issues.

It was not an easy place to get to following a my meeting I had in Northampton but well worth the effort as I was met by a cordial Claudia who welcomed me almost as an old lost friend, he could not have been more obliging. My bedroom was superb with everything I could ever need. The food was excellent and the breakfast was well set out. The location was quite picturesque and charming and I will certainly stay there again when next I am in the area on business and will certainly be recommending it to my friends and business associates.

Nothing!!!!!

This was a late booking made on the day, so it was a very pleasant surprise to be greeted in such a friendly way. Eat in the pub that evening and the food was very good and of a very high standard. Breakfast was self service but there was a reasonable choice and suited my needs.

Nothing, to be fair I felt for the price I couldn’t complain about anything. Older buildings are never perfect but that just added to the character of the room.

The staff were fantastic and definitely made the trip - all so welcoming and friendly. The bed was super comfortable and very big, the shower was lovely. The food was delicious, on the pricier side (more expensive than restaurants in the city we had travelled from) and service charge of 12.5% added on to the total bill. Where I would usually prefer the option of paying service charge, the staff made such efforts that we didn’t mind paying. The bar had an open fire and log burner which give it a warm cosy feel. The continental breakfast was fine, cereals, bread, spreads, eggs to cook and cheese. More left out the second morning, avocados, fruit for cereal, freshly squeezed orange juice and offers of americancos / lattes etc. The Northamptonshire countryside is picturesque, and whilst I grew up near by, we explored villages I’d not been familiar with. Lots of wildlife around, birds and deers, and we also saw a couple of Llamas in a field on the outskirts of the village. Thank you to all the staff who made our stay so lovely!

Lovely old pub

Parking and entrance weren’t clear, pub wasn’t open at 4pm when check in was available from so we had to call and they unlocked the door for us, no sign or anything to make this clear, a small notice by the door would be really helpful. Check out also not clear as no staff members seen at breakfast or when wanting to leave. Breakfast was okay, self-serve selection. Fruit was very soft so not sure how long it had been there but most of the other options were very nice. We had dinner in the pub which was quite expensive and service on the slower side but it was very nice. Lovely room but minor cleaning issues such as stains and dust.

Very friendly staff, large comfortable accommodation, warm & welcoming, very adequate breakfast

The bar area was great with a lovely real fire BUT very disappointed that a large glass of white wine was £13.50!!!!! Yes I should have checked before ordering but in a rural country pub I would never have expected to pay that much - that’s fine dining restaurant prices ☹️
