The location was superb. I had the small breakfast which was included with my booking this was far from small and very good. I had a meal at night this was also of good quality. The rooms were small self contained units but very comforable. These were situated at the far end of the car park.

With the rooms not located in the main Pub building and located at the far end of the car park I would have felt more secure with a mortice lock fitted on the doors not a standard Yale lock, I never left anything of value in the rooms when I was out due to this. Some could say I was nit picking but worth noting all the same.

Very comfy room, at the back of the pub carpark in a couple of little single storey blocks. Right next to the Grand Union Canal. Everything you might need in the room with a very comfy bed. Close to Silverstone.

A5 very busy and noisy, likewise quite close to a railway line which was quite busy, however didn't notice it during the night so they didn't disturb my sleep. Bathroom looking a little tired but shower had plenty of hot water and powerful jet.

We are locals with few decent options for visiting family & friends. The Narrow Boat is nearby, has a pub with decent food on the property (though no breakfast), lovely views across the canal and a small play area for children. The rooms were small but comfortable, clean and provided water bottles each evening of 3 stays. It's a comparable price to other nearby hotels, a little high in our view for what is on offer, but conveniently located for our logistics. Despite what is mentioned below, our very picky adult daughter (with young child) said she'd happily stay here again.

We booked via Booking.com but paid on site on arrival at the pub. But the pub wasn't always open or staff weren't available to handle payment and handing over the key so we locals had to make several trips to do that. Might be as it was a holiday weekend. (The 3 nights stays were not consecutive.)

The location is perfect and so quiet at night which is what we wanted. We were attending the MotoGP at Silverstone and it was only 15 minutes away by car and a very easy drive. We ate our evening meal in the Narrowboat's restaurant and the meal was superb. Staff are extremely friendly and helpful. Unfortunately the weather that weekend was awful otherwise it would have been nice to sit out in the pub's garden, which is right next to the river. The accommodation is lovely and very comfortable. We will definitely stay there again

Overall, the room was comfortable, the location for getting to our destination (Dodmoor House for a wedding) was perfect and it was relatively easy to get a Taxi with Midland Taxi (based in Daventry just down the road). Bed was comfortable, room clean and had customer controlled electric radiator. Provided bedclothes and blankets were of good quality.

Because the property is located separate to the pub and the pub doesn't open until 10am, we had to wait outside the pub to attract the attention of the staff to ask any questions when we wanted to check out a little earlier (Admittedly this was before the "check out at 10am" time that was mentioned). Breakfast is also served when the pub opens at 10am rather than a more standard time - but it made things a bit awkward. The main function of the property is really a pub/restaurant and this shows through in that this is where their focus is. Window handles in the room "tiller" were loose (needed doing up) and the door to the room let through a lot of noise from the road despite being set back from the road by a good 50 metres.

We enjoyed the evening meal and the waitress was very efficient and pleasant. However they did not provide any breakfast.

The room was really cold on arrival and didn’t heat up quickly. It was pleasant by the next morning but sadly we had to leave. Perhaps the heater could have been on before we arrived to warm the room up ? The pub was situated on the main road, which was difficult to cross because of the heavy volume of traffic.

Lovely place to stay right by the canal liked the accomodation away from the pub but only a short walk across the car park for a drink. Large rooms bathroom had a great shower plenty of hot water. Tea and coffee facilities good. Overall a super stay will definately be back.

We didnt have food here as to be honest reviews put us off but everyone in the pub seemed happy with their meals didnt here any complaints. Next door neighbours were a little noisy on their return at 1am but not the owners fault.

Friendly staff and service, room feels like a private cottage, picturesque view outside whilst eating dinner, the big narrowboat breakfast is great to fuel you for the whole day especially if you're going Silverstone, remote area so handy to have a restaurant on site.

Hairs/insects in room so could have been more thoroughly cleaned. Wasn't aware of £6.50 surplus charge pp for bigger breakfast before ordering, would recommend this is printed on the menu.

Really welcoming and friendly staff. Great having a pub just across from my room for drinks and dinner. The food was excellent. Very lovely scenery of the river and lock overlooking the countryside.

Blinds could have been better to keep out light so I'd bring a face mask if a light sleeper. Better pillows would be an improvement.

lovely place to stay, rooms were clean and cosy, staff were really nice as we arrived early in the morning and explained we were going to silverstone for the F1 and wouldn’t be back until around midnight and as we weren’t meant to check in until 3 and they don’t have staff on late, they made arrangements for us

not a con as such but it was 20 minutes to silverstone but due to the location this cost us £70 each way for a taxi as there were no local taxis but the taxi driver was lovely friendly and helpful. we were also advised that due to the check in issues they would take the payment from the card we booked on but then later called and said they couldn’t and had to do this over the phone which was a bit difficult being at the formula 1, but not a huge inconvenience and overall would say I’d recommend as long as you are aware of the location etc
