Beautiful grounds Hotel was nice and cozy . We had dinner at the iron Grill and Staffware lovely. We were upgraded room to a bigger room I think and it was my partners birthday and they were kind enough to leave a complementary drink with a handwritten birthday card and chocolates which was a nice touch. Overall spent a lovely weekend . Breakfast was also really good with a really big selection of buffet and they also made eggs to order. Overall would stay again

Not really a dislike but did not know that there would be £100 deposit on checking in which was not really an issue because it was sent back just to note for anyone staying

Restaurant staff were amazing, I believe it to be the manager particularly professional too, he served us in Vardons. I had a problem with my salad and the way he resolved it was extremely quickly and professionally & made my opinion feel valid and important.

I arrived at the spa and the lady serving couldn’t manage a hello let alone a smile , Just shown the code for the bathroom/changing room. Understandable we all have these days at work but this also happened on the Sunday morning too with the same lady . I don’t think all of the spa staff are following suit to the rest of the staff at the hotel. Politeness should be a minimum.

Lovely swimming pool! Beautiful hotel and grounds. So child friendly. Staff exceptional... Rohan at breakfast has an eagle eye and manages everything so effortlessly and makes everyone feel like they're the most important guest there. You're not rushed like at some hotel breakfasts. Candice (or was it calice) was always so friendly and efficient. Cleaning staff... Everyone really... Lovely. Forgot the name is the ladies who served us dinner and the dinner manager but they were all lovely too

Not much choice for kids lunch and dinner. Just one kids menus with only three mains. When you're having lunch and dinner and staying three nights, can get boring

Amazing pool and surroundings. Gorgeous room. Friendly and lovely staff.... Shout out to: Rohan at breakfast... His usual, attentive, helpful, efficient self, zara on reception for making it so special for my daughter, oliver at dinner for being very friendly and funny as he served, all the girls on reception (plus the male receptionist who very kindly came to our room to remove a beetle lol!) we will be back!

Not enough choice on the kids menu for dinner... Would be good if they also did the food that vardons did.

We live 20 minutes away. It’s nice to stay in a large old building. The room was beautifully furnished. We loved to be able to use the pool, sauna and jacuzzi. The staff are really impressively polite and helpful. The breakfast was very impressive.

We found it hard to book dinner by phone as we kept getting sent to sone global hub so we had to eat at 5.30 which is a bit early. The tea and coffee in the room were just the same as if we were staying in a room in a very ordinary hotel for a third of the price. It didn’t feel like luxury in that respect - but that’s a small thing. The dinner was very nice but not amazing for £50 a head. It was hard to find the pool area from the 5th floor.

We loved the spa and the facilities, the size and cleanliness of the room, the staff and service were also both fantastic, and the manor grounds are absolutely amazing. Breakfast was good and we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves! I would definitely recommend it if youre looking for a nice wind down or golf trip in the countryside.

We were not told about the fire alarm test on Mondays at 11am! My partner and I were literally shocked out of bed, as an unexpected alarm suddenly blasted through our bedroom. It was extremely startling and had the potential to ruin our day if we allowed it to (which we didnt of course). Not a major issue but had we been informed of this beforehand it wouldnt have been such a surprise haha! All things considered, we thoroughly enjoyed our trip.

The room was comfortable and clean. Very good shower. Breakfast was also good although not a huge variety but good enough. The swimming pool area is lovely and was not at all busy. The jacuzzi and sauna were great. The hotel grounds are gorgeous.

Room was a good 5 minutes from reception to one side of the property. At one point the key stopped working so I had to leave my 3 kids outside the room while I ran back to reception to get it sorted.

1. The location is convenient, the grounds are gorgeous. 2. The staff are classy, smiling but not pretentious, helpful. 3. The room is large 4. The bed is INSANELY comfortable. I did not want to leave this bed 5. The pool water is so warm, no shock to the system at all. Absolutely delicious for my purposes. If i was training, I'd want it much colder. But this is supposed to be a time of relaxation. Warm water works well. 6. The jacuzzi 😍 the way it drains means no disgusting frothy foam filled with other people's germs. When i build my jacuzzi, it will be just like this one 7. Giant chess! 8. Delicious breakfast, delicious wine (i had pinot noir), delicious chips with little screw bottles of ketchup. 9. Grand decor. Though i prefer modern (marble, acrylic pianos, led lights, etc) the decor here wasn't dark and gloomy even with all the wood 10. The Spa. Can bed booked separately without going to hotel. Booking this in future

I'm reaching to find something I'd change. 1. Drinks are bit pricey? 2. Oh i know! So an idea i had, is that they could number the car parking spaces and hook them all up to an app that will tell you where you parked your bloody car. Wandering around in the rain with suitcase and bags is not the one.

We got married here in 2011 so have very fond memories. there have been some refurbishments. some staff have returned post Covid and they add a lot to the customer service experience.

it’s definitely not the best value location locally, we will return for sentimental reasons but with so many other good options locally, maybe annually.

The building and the grounds are amazing.History oozes down every corridor.The spa is beautiful.The staff are all pleasant but still professional.As it was my partner's 60th I'd let them know this in advance and there was some prosecco and a card in the room which she loved.The Christmas decorations were tasteful but really lovely .We didn't eat there as we know the area and the local eateries, but im sure the food was lovely too.

There was nothing I didn't like .
