Simon was a great host, especially in the bar. Just a small pub with about 6 rooms I think, shared bathroom and I think meals are limited if there are few guests. However, small grocery next door,got a pie and warmed it up in the oven in a good sized kitchen

Although mainly clean, there were a couple of places that let it down. I mentioned it to the hosts who were really sorry and would have words with the outside contract cleaners and gave me a free drink for my inconvenience, which was not necessary, but appreciated.

Being told that the breakfast that was pre ordered had been changed by us, when it hadn't and hearing staff bickering about it in the kitchen. Also no offer of fruit juices for breakfast.

Full English Breakfast was superb. Plentiful and well cooked to perfection. Staff were friendly but could do with extra staff for basics like cleaning. My wife left a gold bracelet behind in the room and after a quick phone call to them it was posted back to us within a few days.

Overall the place appeared tired and in need of a good overhaul. The room seemed relatively clean but the areas leading to the rooms were in drastic need of a hoover and deep clean. We had drinks in the terrace at the back of the hotel on arrival but this area was also in need of a good overhaul and tidy up. It has a beautiful garden bordering a stream at the bottom but they are not making best use of it. On our last night we arrived back at the hotel around 8pm and it was completely shut. We had wanted to enjoy a couple of drinks before bed.not very welcoming. I believe this hotel is owned by a Blackpool based company and I was told that the management had only been in charge for a few months. They were very nice but need some support.

Lovely staff showed me to my room and answered my questions. Very nice and welcoming. The bed was nice and comfy.

I tried using the hairdryer in the hotel but after 10 seconds of use it got so hot that luckily it switched itself off. It is a fire hazard so I would suggest the owner looks into it. No mention of Wi-Fi anywhere, luckily my phone had some signal for hot spot. Water in the shower lukewarm which wasn't pleasant in the morning.

The young man behind the bar was the best thing about the property. He was polite and efficient and working hard.

The property can best be described as tired. At breakfast no tea or coffee offered.? Staff member at breakfast obviously had issues with the chef which should not have been shared with guests.
