I recently had an accident which has prevented me from residing at home alone in the short-term due to mobility issues. I booked a room at The Mount Hotel and I was pleasantly surprised to find that I had use of an accessible room on the ground floor that had every facility that I could wish for and more, including a comfortable bed. The hotel is spotlessly clean and the food is superb. I cannot praise the staff enough for their kindness, help and support at a remarkably difficult time. I would recommend this hotel without hesitation.

A guest information pack either in a paper format or accessible electronically would be helpful.

Options for breakfast was great. Variety for different dietary requirements. Room was a good size with a comfortable warmth.

After giving me the menu at breakfast the staff member disappeared and I didn’t know how or where to order the breakfast. The staff member came back and I ordered porridge and eggs Benedict to follow. Both were brought out at the same time and the porridge was only lukewarm. The radiator in the bathroom never seemed to warm up the bathroom so it was chilly in there. Very little shelf space for makeup in the bathroom. And no good lighting around mirrors to do makeup in the bedroom.

I love everything about the property room was absolutely gorgeous hotel itself was clean and incredibly comfortable and stunning, I was amazed how stunning the hotel is from the moment I walk in.

The fact I made booking though Booking.Com and pay for it there a then on line…… when I got to the hotel to check in the receptionist told me I needed to pay £50 for deposit I turn to her and said I pay for my hotel on booking.come and it did not told me I needed to pay an extra £50 otherwise it would have took it the same time they collected the payment on line…. And the receptionist was very rude while demanding I of to pay that £50 which I did but were very angry and disappointed. Until now I have received my money back

The restaurant food: The restaurant food was fantastic. I enjoyed my dinner. The waitresses were very friendly and did a great job.

Deluxe Double room: We booked the Deluxe Double room, but we were given a different small room downstairs. The next door was talking all night, which was very loud for us. I found the room small but very clean, and it was just not extraordinary for a night to pay that much. This room could have had a better view, but I was not impressed with the value of the money.

Sitting by the bar it was very good did ask to put heating up. Wasn’t very helpful when booked room on booking.com. Father as a nice gift wanted to pay for my room again, but wouldn’t refund booking.com money because already took the payment, which was confusing only charged for extra add ons for the room. Was an issue sorting that out. My dad which lives in Ireland, he thought he paid for the room again nightmare trying to get sorted apparently can’t make international phone calls? so the hotel couldn’t phone my dad to check the details but I managed to sort it because I live in the UK. Only was charged for extra for the room after all that.

The stables were very lovely to stay in.

On the Saturday night, the room next door was very loud, slamming doors and swearing loudly, which woke us up. I called front desk at 04:10am, after waiting a while for the situation to calm down. I suggested the police should be called to the hotel, as it was that bad. Shortly after my call, the noise stopped.

A superb hotel with beautiful grounds. Real historical building. Excellent staff, dinner was lovely as was breakfast. Will mist definitly be returning very soon. Cheistmas decorations were beautiful. Very festive.

The pillows were very hard but ok. It would be nice to be offered a choice as some hotels do. Im sure they would have helped had i mentioned it . So a very minor point.

Staff and public rooms were lovely. Really friendly staff and cosy atmosphere. Would go back to stay as very pleasant rooms.

Food we had a meal the first night and it was horrendous would not recommend going for food. Very expensive and disappointing. Scallops were over cooked and chewy and steak was also chewy and not good. The rest of the family were not impressed with the food either.

The hotel, the staff and service was excellent. A lovely location with well kept grounds. The curtain pole fell off in our bedroom as the curtains were opened. This was repaired very quickly whilst we were out and the room cleaned to a high standard.

The breakfast was a bit on the dry side and could have been fresher. The bacon and sausage were particularly tough which was a bit disappointing. Everything else was spot on.

Great location, easy to find in a nice area. All the staff we met could not do enough to make our stay.a pleasant one (Special mention to Damien). We ate the evening bar menu and breakfast, neither of which could be faulted. Great place to stay. Good ambience, with a lovely garden if the weather is nice.

The bed could have been more comfortable but saying that, we both slept ok.
