The staff were really friendly and helpful. Magdalena who ran the bar was exceptional. She kept the place ticking over with a friendly and efficient manner. Staff and guests were happily dealt with, reassuring everyone Magdalena had things covered. The food was well prepared and tasted delicious. Chef was able to deal with our allergen requirements comfortably. The room was pleasant and the bed was very comfortable, giving us both a great nights sleep. Top stuff!

The room was a little tired and would enjoy a little refreshing with fresh paint etc. Also the toilet was a little tricky to flush, again, just needing a little TLC.

This time we stayed in room 4 on the first floor and it was adequate for a one night stay. A little tired but for the cost we didn't expect any more. The shower did not work, but there was a bath which sufficed. It is a tired property in need of some maintenance and redecoration, but for the money it is fine a for night or too.

Shower did not work properly and was a little tired, but again, you get what you pay for and it was cheap and cheerful. Downstairs was lovely.

It was a budget price but certainly not a Budget hotel. Old building that was what we were expecting it’s a beautiful old house, the decor and lovely original ceilings and room were delightful. I would stay there again and again. The staff at reception, restaurant were brilliant , friendly very helpful and got things done. The breakfast was superb. We ate in the restaurant and I had the Hand Battered Cod, the batter was gorgeous but the fish very small but I had far to many chips.

The only thing I can find any fault with was the small fish for dinner (but it petty of me mention it) sorry

Lovely staff. Decor needs updating but they know that, the important things have been prioritised and everything worked exactly as expected and was lovely and clean. Bed was lovely and comfy, we had a great night sleep. Check out is 11AM so not in any hurry in morning

We pretty much knew where the hotel was in relation to the traffic lights and the pub on other side of road but we overshot and had to go some way down road to turn round and then we had to make a busy cross over on the road immediately after traffic lights. This was primarily because the hotel road sign was either not visible from approach road or not illuminated, not sure which but the hotel is very hard to see as you approach in the dark. There was also a slightly funky smell in our room, it smelt like some sort of cleaning/polishing chemical. Bearable but weird.

Great staff. Was made to feel welcome with great service from arriving to leaving. Main hotel areas tastefully decorated. Nice atmosphere. Lovely bar and restaurant. Bar prices weren't crazy high. Huge pleasant outdoor area to sit at table and benches. Good parking. Excellent breakfast.

Room was in need of updating( but equipped with everything needed for a comfortable stay) Evening meal- excellent starter (homemade pate with chutney and bread) Main meal was bland and didn't match how the description on the menu stated (sea bass) Wasn't good value for money.

family rooms are great for us. They have single beds for the kids rather than sofa beds like some hotels. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The bar and restaurant were lovely and a relaxing space for breakfast, dinner, drinks.

It’s an old property so it’s expected to have some issues associated with that. Some areas could do with some refreshing but it was fine for us and added to the character .

My room was ground floor annexe so away from the road traffic noise. The room was spacious, very clean and provided tea and coffee plus heater, fan, flat screen tv/radio, iron and ironing board.

The bed was clean and large but it was difficult to sleep on the ultra firm mattress and boulder strength pillows. The structure of the property meant it was possible to hear the occupant of the room above yawning, walking about and every aspect of their morning ablutions! The noise and speed of the road traffic in front of the hotel does detract from the setting of the lovely beer garden of the hotel.

This is a vintage building and I think you need to accept that before you stay. I believe this is more than value for your money despite parts looking worn (again this is a vintage building). Rooms are clean. Beds are comfortable. We've stayed twice and had a shower/bath which is important for my partner. The pub downstairs is high end with a lovely garden to enjoy the sun. Around the corner is the village of Wombourne which has all the amenities you may need. All in all. This place is a joy if your passing for a longer journey, or want a cheeky night away with the girlfriend so you can both have a drink and relax.

Staff here are excellent, the table service at the restaurant particularly so. If you want to chat they chat with you, if you're just wanting a quick meal etc they are super efficient. All the staff seem to be wearing a permenant grin. We loved the old building and grounds too beautiful.

Some areas good admittedly benefit from a clean, some marks on the wall could have been wiped and a duster around the beds headboard. Carpets, bedding and bathroom were cleaned to a high standard, cleaners might have just got into a routine.

The staff were super friendly and very accommodating. Nothing was too much of a problem. The meals we had at dinner time were lovely.

The decor was tired, and some old screw holes left in the walls. The windows needed a paint and we’re deteriorating. It would be nice to see the history of the hotel around the hotel.
