It was in a beautiful location, own little private entrance outside of the pub. Nicely furnished. Comfortable and warm. Loved being able to have my dog with me aswell he enjoyed the stay too. Breakfast was nice for the price. The whole price was budget and for a budget price we were very impressed.

It was clean but there were a lot of spiders webs in the bathroom which were quite substantial so I think they may have been there a while. I’m not a fan of spiders so it’s never nice to see haha. Other than that the cleanliness was great. We also ate at the restaurant the evening before and something made me think the usual chef may not have been there as the food came out burnt. For the price of the food I wasn’t too happy but I think it was maybe a one off as I’ve heard great things about the food usually.

The dedication of the staff. You could clearly see the staff who were there ( we only saw one at night and one in the morning, both lovely ) were having to multi task their roles. Especially the breakfast lassie who we were informed the night before was having to go and do housekeeping as soon as breakfast was over . 👏 now I’m in the industry and have been for 43 years, I can truly appreciate how hard a job it all is. I make sure I never read negative reviews as I will judge for myself . We had a great sleep in a comfortable bed, we had plenty of tea / coffee stock including biscuits ( thank you very much , nice touch indeedy) . We could turn down our heating on the radiator. The one in the bathroom was a main one and couldn’t turn down however you could just shut the bathroom door. We had a big window that opened so again you could if you got too hot open it. There wasn’t a bad smell in the room and we had plenty of storage. Location: perfect and we had absolutely no noise disturbances. The pub itself was just so quaint and had all you need in a local pub including a pool table ✅ bonus . Lots of car parking… Breakfast: this was a continental breakfast and lots of choice. Gluten free bread and gluten free cereal were also an option. The tables were cleared as soon as people left and you definitely knew there was a member of staff around . Thank you all so very much. Well done

Nothing all was good

Great location and room was easy to access from the car park. Good sized room. Friendly staff. Food in the pub was very good and the breakfast, although just continental style, was great for me. Lots of tea bags and milk in the room with biscuits too! I would stay again as I felt safe as a solo female traveller.

I did book a room with a bath but got a shower. I was shown a small room with a bath, but decided to keep the original room as it was a nice size and ground floor. Overall the room was quite clean but the lamp bases were very dusty. A bath sheet would have been nice as a bath sheet didn't go round me! The room was a little on the cold side. The free wi-fi wasn't working and they were waiting for an engineer to come out.

I loved that it felt really homely, the room was comfortable and better than I expected following seeing some mixed reviews. I had a lovely welcome and was made to feel welcome during my stay especially by the bar staff and the chef. Food was lovely and not a rip off, drinks were priced well and they had a pool table which was a nice little treat.

The room was clean but generally the hotel needed a spruce. Just someone to clean it he cob webs and spiders away. I noticed the staff member who seemed to be on reception when we arrived and left wasn’t doing anything at all really. She didn’t even ask if we had a nice stay etc. Some maintenance would be really beneficial and you could then charge that little bit extra.

We loved this genuine, value-for-money country hotel in a lovely quiet scenic part of Somerset. The new manager was very kind and helpful. The meals and the drinks were excellent. There were some lovely little walks you could do around the village to while away the afternoon. We visited the nearby church and were welcomed in to look around. The whole vibe was old-world and authentic and really made us feel we had experienced a slice of old-fashioned country England. The breakfast was a continental type one but excellent, tasty and healthy.

The only thing a little bit difficult was reaching the hotel due to our approach across country lanes and then finding road closures which seemed to stymy us a bit until we got around them. Of course, this is not the hotel’s fault!!

This is a good value hotel in a great location for those visiting local attractions (Fleet Air Arm Museum, lots of nearby National Trust properties etc.) or heading Westwards on A303. I assume it was initially the village pub but now more of a Restaurant/Bar with Rooms. I did not eat in the Restaurant as I had made prior arrangements in nearby Ilchester. Room was comfortable with nice bed and a desk. Nice quiet village setting but not far from main arterial road.

When I arrived at 6 pm my room was not ready and I got the impression that things were somewhat disorganised. Reading some of the other reviews suggests this is often the case. Not a problem for me as I was there to relax and chill out but could be if your visit was for an event, occasion or work. Breakfast was basically a choice between 3 or 4 cereals followed by toast . It was sufficient for me and you could not really expect more for the room price but people expecting a 'Full English' would be disappointed .

Great location but did suffer from Helicopter noise during the night, but only for a short period of time. Staff very friendly and helpfull. Generally very clean. Look, it's a budget choice and with that in mind, no it's not the Hilton but for a few short comings it's very good value for money and will stay again. Thanks to all the staff that try so hard to make the stay a nice experience. G

No cooked breakfast , not a great lover of continental breakfasts. But again, plenty of good coffee and enough cereal etc to go round.

Excellent place, very peaceful, stuff polite. I was surprised by that price. It was an amazing bundle. Also, they could not provide one room with a double bed and sofa bed, so they offered us instead 2 double rooms, which satisfied me even more. Nice view outside, next to hotel small river, birds singing, very quiet and peaceful. I would recommend this hotel to people who want to relax from busy cities. Continental breakfast had lovely fresh pastries, homemade, and delicious coffee

On breakfast, I would prefer to have eggs at least boiled

A friendly small hotel. Staff were very helpful and a fair range of food and drinks were available. Very quiet location, but especially convenient if you wanted to visit the Royal Navy Air Museum.

Its location was absolutely fine for me, but the Booking.com website put it under the general heading "Yeovil" and that was 6 or 7 miles away. There are also a lot of nearby road improvements taking place which has meant that the usual signage has been removed so SatNav is VERY useful.

It was very cozy. Very good food and lovely staff. Great atmosphere in pub area and in local village for a walk. Fantastic price for stopover.

Could hear people walking upstairs. My dinner, which was lovely, took 50 minutes to arrive. Not a big deal but I was hungry after long, long drive. And breakfast is continental, not full English. But can’t complain too much for the amazing price.
