Excellent price compared to any other accommodation in Anchorage with the same offered services. Breakfast was both hot [scrambled eggs, shredded potato (hash brown), sausage, and rolled oats/porridge] & cold offerings [cereal, muffins, bagels, toast & jam] + tea and endless coffee. 😋 Free and fast wifi. Microwave + fridge + coffee in room. Room is a little "tired", but 100% functional & clean. Free shuttle to downtown & Airport. Uber~ $14/trip so with tip to Merrill well worth it. Also Street behind is main bus route to downtown for $2/person. Great way to see the town through the eyes of the locals (100% safe). Takes exact change or local card. Friendly & helpful staff. Highly recommend.

Through the wall aircon unit is near end of life/needs a service. However, didn't need it for the 4 nights we were there in July.

My husband and I stayed at Merrill Field Inn for one night on our way back home to Australia after 2 two weeks holidaying in Alaska. Our room was very spacious, had a kitchenette, and compared with other hotels we'd stayed at in Alaska, excellent value. We were picked up in their FREE shuttle van service within 15 minutes of phoning them from the airport. After throwing down our bags, we went to dinner at the Chinese restaurant conveniently located right next door to the Inn. It was so nice to have a good spicy Asian meal after having fairly bland European-type food for 2 weeks. Next day, we had delicious FREE breakfast at the Inn. After breakfast, the Inn co-owner(?) Anthony took us downtown where we did the "trolley" (bus) tour of the city (which was very informative) and watched the Northern Lights film at the theatre near the drop-off point. After a call to the Inn, we were promptly picked up by Anthony and shuttled to the airport. The complimentary shuttle service made our stay at Merrill Inn excellent value and enabled us to see Anchorage's attractions within the limited time we had. The staff are friendly and informative.

There is no fault, Merrill's staff are wonderful & great source of information. The venue may not be next door to the airport, but their FREE shuttle service and complimentary breakfast compensate for it.

This is lovely accomodation. You get everything you would in a bigger hotel but at a more reasonable price. The situation is slightly out of town but I don't notice it because they operate a shuttle to and from the airport 24/7. Downtown is also 20 minutes walk away. It has a friendly family atmosphere and an excellent breakfast which puts Best Western to shame.

I can't think of anything. It provides everything you need which is actually what you want in a hotel. The breakfast room has character and you can always ask advice from the owners.

Shuttle service was good. As the location is a distance to downtown. Breakfast was good with hot food and varieties of muffins and bread. There are different types of bread packed nicely in resileable bags. This is very thoughtful of the property for travellers on the go or need to check out early in the morning.

Pillows are too soft and need to request an extra pillow. Location is rather remote. There is only one chinese restaurant located next to the property.

Very helpful with shuttle from airport and downtown. But it was really only a 25 minute walk. Older hotel but many tourist use it. Not a dodgey place. Super comfortable bed. Compared to most of Anchorage hotel prices this place was half the price and much better than I thought it would be.

Fresh curtains would be good there were moth holes in ours. And black type because of Alaska summer light. Room was musty smell, maybe mold.

Free shuttle to train, airport, and downtown. 3 selections of hot food breakfast plus other selections. Restaurant options walking dsitance east or west. Gas station nearby. Great mountain views.

Not that I didn't like. Some rooms have been redone. Some rooms need to be updated. I had broken dresser in mine. But area hotels are outrageously overpriced. This hotel is $150 on average. Far better than poorly rated chain hotels that cost more. Stay here.

Management staff went above and beyond- shuttle to the airport and was a wealth of information. He made the stay stellar. Also, the breakfast was great as well- better than a normal continental breakfast we are used to.

No complaints; the individuals on the next property never bothered our vehicles, nor us, and were not the fault of the hotel management. The hotel itself and staff were great.

At first glance, we were unsure about the hotel due to it's industrial location, it's "I've been here awhile" look, and rundown neighborhood. Turns out that the hotel staff and the hotel itself were just fine. Don't let the facade fool you! The staff were very friendly as were the other people staying there. We met people from Taiwan, Australia, France, the Netherlands, the US, really from all over! The hotel had quite an international feel to it! The hotel also offered a limited free shuttle (tips appreciated). The room was clean and large. The bed and bedding were hotel comfy - not the same as home but not uncomfortable. The window was a large picture window with a view of the small airport which allowed us to watch planes landing and taking off and a view of mountains in both directions. The bathroom was separate; shower and toilet in the bathroom and sink in the hotel room. The bathroom was small. Room service was only provided if asked for. The hotel staff was on site 24/7 so any needs could be quickly taken care of. There were lots of spring flowers in bloom in the gardens and pots placed around the hotel. The summer continental breakfast was great: coffee, hot tea, milk, juice, cereals, bagels, muffins, hard boiled eggs, fresh fruit, hash browns, pork sausage, scrambled eggs, and delicious sausage gravy! The Chinese restaurant, Rice Garden, that shares a parking lot was the same. A little rundown looking but the food was very good and there was a constant flow of customers.

The location is very industrial and the neighborhood is rundown. I wouldn't walk alone day or night. The hotel is by AK1 highway and Merrill Field Airport so very convenient, but it was loud at times. The hotel windows were surprisingly mostly soundproof. I would suggest unremovable hangers in the hotel rooms so that one could hang up jackets or towels on the "closet" bar. Also, a hook or two in the bathroom for towels would be good.

Rooms met our expectations, staff were super nice and easy to deal with, breakfast was great. Our rooms were scattered but the inn is not very big, so actually the rooms were close together. 'Most were on the inner side of the U-shape. My husband and I had a room on the airfield side. Since we are both pilots, it was fun waking in the morning to the sounds of flights taking off. Obviously if someone wants a super quiet room, they should request one away from the airport like the remainder of our family had.

Nothing. We were very satified and would definitely stay here again.

I got in from rather late and was able to check-in rather quickly.. The room was above my expectations. I'd stay there again.

Just a couple of complaints. I needed to turn the TV on and off manually.. The shower bezel was just dangling. Where it lost ratings was the first towel I grabbed wasn't clean. Also had to wait about 10 minutes at the front desk one evening for the agent to appear.
