I arrived early as I was traveling the country on my Harley.. all hotels across the nation have accommodated my early arrival times without question.The manager was rude here about it and I was cool I said I could wait and I would sit in the Lobby until a room was ready the front desk lady told me well we can't have you hanging out in the Lobby ....What? Anyway, a room became available miraculously quickly. They make you feel like a criminal with their check in policy. Room is very nice thankfully.Glad I'm only here one night the view from the balcony is spectacular. The manager needs to learn some people skills and be friendly.

Beautiful, well appointed large room . I loved the view , the bed, the refrigerator, the microwave and other little nice amenities. One thing I didn’t like was no elevator and we had to carry our luggage to the 3 floor. It would have been nice to have help as we are 70 years old. We did not know which room we had been assigned until we got there. I’m sure we would have been happy on the first or second floor if we had known or if someone had offered to help with our luggage. Other then that everything else was lovely.

Very nice take away breakfast with premade egg croissant and English muffin sandwiches, yogurts, many pastries, fruit, juices etc. it was perfect to take on the go or back to the room for eating later. Also appreciated breakfast stopping at 11, as we slept in one day. The location was perfect and the room was very clean. Walls were a bit thin at times, but not really an issue as it seemed the place wasn’t full.

This isn’t exactly a complaint, but the bed was extremely high. I am 5’7” and so it was okay, but might have been difficult for a short woman. However, it had plenty of warm quilts and blankets.

The location, room, staff, and town are the reasons any traveler would immensely appreciate the North Cliff Hotel. We were on a month-long journey exploring California and came upon this jewel of a hotel. We were immensely satisfied of the accommodations, views, and restaurants - our winner as the best hotel we stayed at from our stays in South Lake Tahoe, LA, Joshua Tree, San Simeon, Monterey, Napa Valley, and Bodega Bay. The sunset views were awesome, and the seals were delightful.

We should have stayed more than the 2 days we allowed on our travels

Beautiful views, large rooms. Nice bathroom, easy to find and park. Loved the large bath tub by the window from which we could watch the sunset and hear the harbor seals beg for food at the docks. Neutral: mattresses are very soft. I am not a fan but that's a personal thing :)

- breakfast was good but if I have to eat it in my room I would like an actual table to eat it at instead of hunching over it from the couch or sit on the floor! Quite uncomfortable. - there was a foghorn (?) blowing all night, and I like to sleep with the window open (there was no ac unit) - bubbles could be a stronger in the bath tub :) - No smart tv

Upon arrival the staff was very friendly. Was so pleased when entering the room, which was very clean and the view was beautiful! Enjoyed the spa tub, and also seating on the deck. The location is fantastic, as we enjoyed the state parks in the surrounding area and shopping in Mendocino. The hotel is close to the lovely Mendocino botanical gardens, a must see and with the discount tickets at the front desk at North Cliff Hotel was a plus. It was such a quiet and peaceful time, other guests, hardly knew they were there. Close to the harbor to feast on great fish and chips. Would definitely return!!!

The property layout is very smart and seemingly well planned. Everything (parking, office, ice) was close and the room has a great use of space (refrigerator, tub, swivel tv, view) whereas everything is right at the guest’s fingertips.

Although the mattress is in good condition, the sides sloped downward and we had to leverage ourselves more towards the middle of the bed where there’s a hump. Maybe the mattress needs to be flipped or the underside and frame be checked. We still slept great.

The ambience of the waves crashing on the rock was so cool being able to go out on our extra large balcony watch the sea otters play We also had a fireplace with a Jacuzzi overlooking the water.

I could not get on the Wi-Fi

Spacious room with jacuzzi tub big enough for two, beautiful furnishings, beautiful view. Nice touches like bath robes, bath fizzies, remote controlled battery operated candles, chocolate, 2 complimentary water bottles and a choice of bottle of champagne or bottle of wine. Accommodated special request to have rose petals on the bed to celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary. Wall mounted TV had adjustable arms so you could change position the TV towards the sitting area or bed. Complimentary grab ‘n go breakfast was decent and coffee was great.

I’m a short person and the beds mattress was really tall. It would have been nice if there was a stool at the bedside in consideration of shorter people. Luckily, there was a chair in the room that I was able to use like a stool to climb into the bed. The only other thing that would have made our stay perfect is if there was an elevator and air conditioning or ceiling fan. There is a fan stored in the closet, that we used but a ceiling fan would have been more convenient. Overall, we loved our stay on the 3rd floor in the mermaid suite, but the fact that there is no elevator would make it impossible for older people, with mobility issues, to enjoy any upper level rooms, which are the most luxurious.

We loved this hotel. Easy to find & good location. Beautiful views from our room and from the bed, you can look at the ocean. They have 3 bench swings overlooking the ocean. Trail down to the beach. Room 108 is great. Equipped with hair dryer, ironing, plenty of drawer space (including 2 in the bed frame, safe, microwave, nice refrigerator (w/2 bottles of water), nice toiletries inc makeup removal pads, and jacuzzi tub was great. Two people fit in it easily. Comfortable bed, but if you’re short, you kind of need to jump up on it. I could have used a step box. Lol. Oh yeah, no hot breakfast, but they provide all types of muffins, breakfast sandwiches to heat in microwave, hard boiled eggs, yogurt, granola, OJ, etc., all of which were Very good! They have ice machine & vending machine on 2nd floor, but gas station store right across the street. I will definitely stay here again. Staff very friendly!
