Great location right along main street. A true historic building with a well maintained main floor. Access out the back stairways made it easy traveling with a small dog.

The rooms are very small and a bit time-worn. This is understandable given the age and historic nature of the property but definitely not for more than a couple on a weekend or even a single person. Restaurant and bar were closed, which is a shame as they appeared to have great potential given the furnishings and architectural details.

Such a quirky place! Absolutely loved it. It felt like we were traveling on an old timey train out west! The shared bathrooms are probably not for everyone, but we didn't mind and felt like it was part of the experience! Would absolutely stay again. Also the location is unbeatable, right in town, incredible views.

The bathrooms were a little musty, but honestly what can you expect with such an antique place! Didn't bother us. Just remember to bring your own slippers perhaps.

A great location. A historic hotel. beds were old fashion Victorian design. We notice rips in curtains and other fabrics in the room. WIFI was good. Room view toward ocean. Sofa bed was a bit uncomfortable, but OK. Garden and hotel setting areas was awesome. Hotel's restaurant was closed due to manpower issues. Our room was in a different building than the main building. We enjoyed the ocean and the nature around this hotel.

Hotel looked a bit old, but not bad. We noticed fabrics in the rooms had rips in them. Master bed was too high as they places a steep stool in the room. There are no elevators in this hotel, so you have to use steps to get your luggage to 2nd floors.

Great location with balcony with ocean view available to all guests. What you would expect in Mendocino, victorian home converted into a hotel.

Noise from other rooms travels easily. The inn doesn't provide a cup/glass in the room so it was a little inconvenient trying to take medicine. They do not provide shampoo, conditioner, etc. Not a problem for me since I brought my own toiletries but take into account when packing.

We are long time repeat customers of the Mendocino Hotel! The history and location are amazing. The room Ms are quaint and cozy! We like the Victorian rooms best with access to the veranda and deck that wraps around the hotel. Such beautiful views from the front of the building on the upstairs deck! The lobby and sitting area are beautiful too - and filled with antiques. A very special place!

Our suite! We loved the views, the balcony, the ability to open up windows for fresh, ocean air. We loved the devan, the armoire, the full length mirror, the comfortable chair, the couch, the long, claw foot tub, the comfy bed, the French doors! We loved touring the entire premises as well: sitting on the porch swing, walking on the wrap around deck.

The lobby and stairs had a dirty carpet full of pet hair.

This is our favorite spot in Mendocino! Walking distance to town, bluff and beach - simple but comfortable rooms. Love that there’s not daily housekeeping and the rooms feel like your home away from home.

Fireplace in the lobby was out of order which is a bummer, one of our favorite ways to pass foggy afternoons! Also would be great if there were mini fridges in the room.

The hotel was wonderful and filled with antiques. It was built in 1878. It had a beautiful view of the park across the street and the ocean and cliffs. Mr. and Mrs. Duck were out in the park eating every day and I grew very attached to watching them in the afternoons and evenings. The location was great and the town was one block behind the hotel. Great for walking. My room was lovely, comfortable bed and windows you could open for fresh air. The staff provided an ice bucket every evening and there was a coffee maker and frig in the room. There was a patio outside the 3rd floor suite with a table and chairs. Most evenings were spent out there looking at the view.

What can I say about the stairs?? Three steep flights to the 3rd floor with a heavy bag. It wasn't bad but having just had knee surgery, it was a little tough. Railings on both sides which was good. Next time I think I would get a room on the 2nd floor. The stairs were my problem, not theirs, just wanted to mention it.

Disappoi t restaurant still isn't open from COVID reduced tourism and it's new owners want to redo restaurant and rooms. I pray the new owners quick the affordability of this hotel with a handful shared bathrooms to some of the guests rooms to keep the heritage of the original hotel.

Quirky, super interesting little hotel with decor to fit the time! Amazing location!

Comfy bed, but be prepared for the party in the little pub next door on the weekend! Some might find it keeps them awake, but seriously it’s the kind of place where your never too old to go join the party!! Had an absolute ball in this little town, super friendly place!!
