The grounds and pool and hot tub area are lovely, as is the Spanish Colonial style building. Fire pit is a great place for morning coffee or evening wine. Very accommodating to dog family members. We want to return every year around July 4th. Lots of great beaches and hiking nearby. Good restaurants in town.

The included breakfast is pretty chintzy - mostly carbs and sugar with only hard boiled eggs. The toilet in the room was very low, almost child sized, so hard on elders’ knees. It ran most of the time, requiring lots of jiggling. Should be replaced. The refrigerator kept freezing things even tho maintenance came and turned the cold setting down.

We liked our stay in Half Moon Bay Lodge very much. The room was really big and super clean with a nice litte terrace. Beautiful! The whole location is very pretty and quiet. Beaches nearby as well. The staff was exceptional helpful and friendly. This is definitely worth mentioning it. The breakfast was good for my kids. They liked it and the breakfast room was very comfy and especially nice.

I personally didn't like the fact, that there was absolutely nothing I could eat for breakfast, because I have celiac disease. Well, one orange maybe. I would have appreciated, if at least after my written request beforehand, that the hotel would have offered me a slice of gluten-free bread. California normally is very progressive with gluten-free food.

Breakfast (great coffee), room layout, nice bathroom, layout of lodge (can walk out of room to a patio and then to the firepit). Location was wonderful.

1) Bed was waaaay too soft. My back ached the entire stay. 2) Room furniture not appropriate. E.G., there's a nice big fridge, but no place for 2 people to eat. No 2 chairs suitable for sitting at the desk. Who needs a desk anyway at that lodge? A small dining table and 2 comfy chairs would be better. 3) The USB ports on both night table lamps did not work, making it impossible to charge a device while sitting in bed. Need either outlets or working USB at both bedsides. 4) when the bathroom was redone, the tub should have been given a non-skid finish. Well, that ship sailed. So I suggest provided a rubber tub mat in every room. Guests can choose to use or not. Despite the drawbacks, we would stay there again. Hoping they can be corrected before we return next year.

We enjoyed the (mostly) renovated room which was spacious and had great lighting. The 2nd floor room had a great view overlooking the garden and golf course. It was in a quiet location and we slept extremely soundly. The hotel is walking distance (or short drive) to the beautiful coastal trail alongside the Pacific Ocean. The front desk staff were very helpful and provided us with a good list of restaurants for the area.

We were overlooking the shared garden/patio and there was a large group using the space that were making a lot of noise. But it was Memorial Day weekend - and it wasn't a deal breaker as they packed up around 9pm.

The room was comfortable and clean. It is next door to the Ritz Carlton, and we spent the day at the Ritz getting massages and having a meal. We were close by without having to pay a high price for the rooms at the Ritz.

The staff was not personable. I believe they were, understandably, trying to avoid contact due to covid. We ate our breakfast elsewhere because the complimentary breakfast was not what we wanted.

Loved every thing. The hotel room was beautiful, while still staying cozy. The fireplace was lovely, and heated pool was amazing! Even just the walk from car to the room was beautiful, and the reception workers we met were so friendly and welcoming. Note : you get a free wood bag for the fireplace each night you stay!

Only big complaint is no microwave in the rooms. I wouldn't say it put a major dent in our trip, but it was a bit move of an inconvenience than we expected.

Our room was updated, comfortable and clean. The continental breakfast was extensive with lots of options. The grounds are beautiful and amenities like pool and firepit were beautiful! The outdoor spaces were welcoming and a great extension of the facility.

Next time we will request a room away from the pool, firepit and common areas. There were screaming children in the pool, loudly talking people late at night and barking dogs.

Room was comfortable and nice. Staff and facility were very nice and everything looked very clean and neat. Breakfast was fine--coffee cakes were very fresh and good. I definitely would have loved using a microwave to warm them, however!

Both women's toilets in Club Room needed attention (I don't know if they could not be flushed, but they weren't!) We alerted Office staff and she advised that maintenance had been advised. Timing was the problem, I assume, and hotel staff had not been advised prior to our attempt to use the facility. Our room only had 1 coffee cup......just a reminder that 2 would have been nice!

We loved the hotel, it was very comfy and the golf course view was cool. The hotel had everything we needed, it was quiet at night, guests were friendly, hotel staff were great.

The room and pool needed more towels. We only had 2 in our room for 4 guests, and the pool didn’t have any when we arrived. More were brought out, but immediately taken. Also most of the towels were old and worn, not warm after a swim on a cool night.
