We recently had the pleasure of staying at Jamestown Hotel, and I am delighted to share our positive experience. From the moment we arrived, we were greeted by a warm and friendly staff that made us feel genuinely welcome. The team's hospitality and attentiveness throughout our stay were truly remarkable. One aspect that truly impressed me was the hotel's interior, the attention to detail in the refurbishment was evident everywhere I looked. The interior design was tasteful, matching well the building, blending elegance with a cozy ambiance. Upon entering our room, we were instantly captivated by its spaciousness and impeccable cleanliness. The hotel's restaurant exceeded my expectations as well. What stood out most, however, was the exceptional service provided by the restaurant staff. Their genuine passion for hospitality was evident in their attentive and friendly manner. Additionally, the hotel's location on a lovely street added an extra touch of charm to our stay. It provided a perfect backdrop for leisure after a busy day. We look forward to returning in the future.

My 2nd stay with the Jamestown Hotel. The previous owners have sold the hotel to the Chicken Ranch, so it seemed a wee bit different to me, but its still a beautiful place to stay. My boyfriend and myself were going to a party in La Grange and the hotel was kind enough to let us check in an hour earlier in order to clean up for the party, a BIG thank you for that!

It took forever to get our breakfast, but once it arrived, it was delicious! It didn't seem like there were that many antiques up, like with the past owner, but because they are under new ownership, maybe they are working on revamping the hotel too? Needless to say, its a wonderful place with SO MUCH history!

We were really tired when we arrived in Jamestown but felt very welcome at the hotel. The first impression of the room was a bit questionable, but I turned out to be a great room. Especially the bed. Wonderful, maybe the best of our entire trip. No television, that was new, but it wasn't missed. We decided to have dinner at the hotel restaurant and service and friendliness were great there as well. The next morning it turned out that our coffee machine was missing. I went down and entered the kitchen and only had to mention.. "no coffee..." and we were provided with enough coffee.

Locking the doors (as well as the room and the bathroom) was a bit of an adventure. But finally we managed.

The room was spacious, impeccably clean, stylish and comfortable. Gorgeous shower with beautiful tiles. Soft pillows and clean, beautiful bed linens that looked hand embroidered. Furnished with tasteful antiques. The concierge went above and beyond to be helpful. I couldn't believe the valve for the price. It offers the romance of a touch of history paired with the freshness of a modern upgrade.

I can't think of anything I didn't like about it. It's a sleepy little town that rolls up early so if that's not your thing it might not be for you.

It's a very neat place, and we had a 'suite', room #1, right on the Main St., and that extra space is super nice to have. The building is great, as is the location, the bar, the breakfast, and... all the staff were genuinely friendly. On that score, the day manager on 3/18 got that evening's band (that we didn't know they'd be having when we booked) to move up their show by a whole hour to play from 7-10 instead of 8-11 as the prior night's band had played, so a very big thanks to her. Made a big difference in our night, and to our departure morning, as we had to leave before sun-up on the 19th to both get to work that morning back in the Bay Area, and had considered changing hotels and getting a refund for the 2nd night. Very customer friendly thing to have done, and we're really glad we got to stay, as it's a great spot, and we had a great room (balcony overlooking Main St), and we ended up watching the 2nd night's band's last two sets, in fact, after our great Mexican dinner across the street.

Only thing they really ought to do is make it PROMINENTLY known to people booking online, on whatever website or service, and then AGAIN in the emailed booking confirmation, that they have live bands in the downstairs bar on the week-ends during the cold months (and outside, apparently during the warm ones). No chance at all for a quiet or early night in that case, and in the case of our first night, it went on until 11:00 PM, pretty late to be having pounding drums and loud amplifiers playing in a hotel. The locals know there's music there, but no one booking online would. I would also make the 10 PM end time for music the rule, rather than the exception we got on night #2. 11:00 is way too late for that much noise in a hotel, even if you know about it ahead of time.

The hotel looks and feels very vintage / authentic but the rooms are nicely remodeled and very comfortable (at least my room was). Good location. Nice balcony overlooking main street.

There was no staff present at check in (around 8:30pm). There was a closed sign and the door was locked. I called the number with no response. After 20min of waiting, I went to the brewery next door where I happened to bump into two hotel employees. They were off the clock but let me in (no apology for the inconvenience). Apparently there was a night guy but he did’t start for another hour. So basically the hotel was unmanned and check in was impossible. Later that night, I found another customer locked out side withe their luggage also waiting to check in - again the desk was unmanned and the door locked. Total disaster. No matter how good the hotel is, if your customers cant get in or check in, its a deal breaker.

Great place, staff very friendly. Bed very comfortable, linens nice. Would stay again if in that area. Close parking. No lift though and long staircase to room on second floor, but staff carried our bags up and down for us.

Plantation shutters in 1bedroom were broken and not repaired. In 2nd bedroom the carpet was soiled. Both items should have been addressed if a hotel/inn keeper.

Super friendly staff, especially Becca who checked us in and got us settled. Super easy, hassle free check in/out. Room was big, inviting, and felt recently refurbished (in a classical style) - with a beautiful, clean, tiled bathroom. Highly recommended stopover on the way to/from Yosemite.

Despite the room being small, it had such a consistent theme that really brought us back in time. The bathroom was a complete 180, modern and beautifully tiled. All in all, super clean, great staff, and perfect value.

Smallish room, but it's what we paid for.

Historic and beautiful. We arrived late and the staff member did his best to get us all checked in. The room was beautiful and had so much character. The bathroom was fully renovated with an old time flare and the outside varanda was perfect for morning coffee.

Wish we were able to stay longer to check out the bar!
