Location was a 10/10. We were about 5 mins from the beach and 10-15 min walks from the Wharf, Cannery Row and the playground. Our room was quaint. It was nice for a lodge and clean upon arrival. We thought the beds were super comfy. It was also nice to have a fridge and a microwave and both worked well. The pool wasn't huge but it was clean and it was heated which was nice. Great place for families who are going to be on the go- not ideal however for a romantic getaway.

Not too much to complain about because going in you already know it's a lodge not a 5 star hotel. I thought for being a lodge everything was expected. The only thing I didn't like was the shower- very small and like a beach shower so water gets everywhere.

Staff was extremely friendly and accomodating. We had to cross some fairly busy streets to get to the beach and perfect grass area for our dog. Our room was like 20 steps from the back side of Chevron which was great for random snacks. House keeping was great. For the price I was satisfied.

Pool was closed day one but open the next evening. We had a 2 queen room, one bed was great the other was super worn and sunken in. This hotel has 5 pet friendly rooms, however almost everyone I saw there had dog(s). I paid for a "pet friendly room" but was charged an additional $30 a night when I got there as well. Pretty sure everyone else just didn't mention they had their pets with them.

Great Location: excellent. Near trail, close to beach. Walking distance to restaurants, shops, attractions. Well maintained. Very clean except for the comforter. ( See what didn’t like.) Room: bed was comfortable. Nice size. Lots of space. Cleanliness: Seemed very clean, sheets were definitely clean (slight bleach smell), Amenities: hot tub, pool. Clean. Courtyard is very nice. The price was excellent. Noise level was typical for a small motel could hear people above us walking in morning. Otherwise pretty quiet. Some traffic noise considering close to main thoroughfare. Complimentary water. Check-in: Very friendly check in person.

No choice for bed size. Specific rooms designated as pet rooms. Only queen size bed as an option. Was told during booking with hotel that only queen sized rooms are pet friendly. Would have preferred a king size room. Hot tub towels are small. They are more like hand towels! Pet fee per night versus a one time fee. Most places we stay charge a one time fee. If you stay any longer the pet fee would definitely add up. Comforter was too heavy. Looks like it may not have been washed. Probably due to it being so big and being easy to clean. There was some evidence of pet hairs. We did not use it.

The location is just across the street from the beach and marina, as well as an amazing park. It's a charming older hotel with beautiful grounds, a park like setting. Our son enjoyed the heated pool. The room was comfortable and clean, while a little dated. The bed was comfortable. There are a lot of windows, which caused some issues with the brightness of the room, we had to do some creative darkening. Also, there is no air conditioning, it wasn't a problem for us, it was pretty cool, but something to keep in mind.

Clean rooms with coffee machine, microwave, fridge, safe and tv (Netflix and Amazon prime compatible!). Only a fan, no air conditioning. Electric heater (not tested). Hotel reception was very friendly and went out of his way to give us recommendations and services (prolonged parking, early check-in, good fare). The location is very nice - a 30min walk to Cannery Row, or 10min to the next free-of-charge trolley stop, which offered a round trip through downtown and Cannery Row! Area is safe and clean!

No air conditioning. The beds were too soft for our taste.

Eveything. Beautiful location and vibe. Loved it so much booked a 3rd night once there. - Stayed in a fireplace king room (102) and had direct access to the garden where we used the lounges, fire pits and pool on multiple occasions. - Pool and hot tub was clean and warm, perfect for the evening when the little one was sleeping as it was open til 10pm. Our baby monitor had no problem reaching and it was close enough to the room we felt safe to do so. What an indulgence. - Stayed over a weekend in spring break but found it to be super relaxed and quiet with no noise issues at all (though we do travel with white noise for the toddler just in case). - Room was large, house keeping wonderful, shower had good pressure. Hairdryer is one that's stuck to the wall, but my hair isn't long so wasn't an issue. Lovely to get Dove toiletries. I don't believe they offer cots, but we cosleep with our 2yo when travelling so just put pillows next to her when we were at the pool at night. There was plenty of space in the room if you travel with a portable cot though. - Right across from the paddle boats, beach and large park (Dennis the menace) which was perfect for our toddler. Short drive to Cannery Row and the Aquarium. 15min from Carmel too. - We drove to the aquarium and found the street parking easy and cheap (using an app) and paid $5 for an afternoon (instead of $20 in the lot on Foam St), but good that there's options if you want to spend the whole day. Would definitely stay here again!

The inability to change the gas fireplace level in the room (had to dig deep to write something here). Oh, but I am glad we travel with a suction black out blind that we used on the double doors...as the grounds are very well lit at night, which makes it cosy and safe, but a little bright for a kid you're trying to get to sleep 😁

The front desk lady was very nice and welcoming. The lodge is quaint and the room was nicely furnished in a beachy kind of style. Housekeeping did a great job every day and kept the place sparkling clean. The proximity to the beach and the lake across the road is another big plus. We could walk to the wharf. We would love to stay here again.

No breakfast available, but not a big deal.

Very easy to find, just off the main highway. Room was clean and comfortable but we booked a Queen size bed which in UK terms is a Double. Our mistake, should have gone for a King size. Close to the centre of Monterey, 10 minutes walk along the promenade. Lots of restaurants and bars nearby. Would recommend one called 21. Two nice golf courses nearby where we had drinks and food in convivial surroundings.

Still a bit early in the season and parts of the hotel were still being renovated including the pool and cafe.

We had a big, airy room on the second floor with view on the lovely (warm!!) pool and hot tub. We loved every second of your stay! Comfortable beds and pillows, luxury toileteries, coffee maker with coffee and cream, soft towels… The location is great too, very close to the beach and kajak rental and close to a lake and park. Our best stay on the West Coast! We would definitely love to stay here again.

Staff was very friendly and welcoming with great recommendations for local places to eat was exceptionally Fast easy check in and out. (Thank you Phillip).Location is pretty close to and walking distance from from Fisherman's Wharf while across the street from Dennis the Menace park rooms were very clean not outdated but not completely brand new either however did have all the amenities such as big screen TV, phone, microwave, coffee maker, blow dryer, safe. Bed was very comfortable bathroom has Shower/Tub and another great thing is they use all Dove name brand products soap, shampoo, conditioner ect. Water pressure was great! And shower worked perfectly and hot water came almost instantly.. Also accepted pets as well in designated pet friendly rooms with a small extra pet fee charge.

Really really only one thing kinda and that's no gym however between the price and everything everything else makes it a no issues at all still.
