We were on a long drive heading back home and needed a place to stay for a night. It was my 3 young children, my husband, and myself. We arrived at almost midnight. There is no one at the front desk after 10pm, but they leave you a number to call and room keys to make your key. It went very smoothly to get our room. We were super impressed with how nice it was and how clean and comfortable the room was! I never actually saw any employees because we arrived so late and left early, but the one I talked to on the phone was pleasant. Overall we give it a 10/10. We are already planning on stopping there again next time we have to make that long trip!

I can't find anything I didn't like.

We checked in at around 10pm and at the counter it was posted that the front desk is only from 9am-9pm. We called the number posted and the staff was super helpful. Check in went smoothly even though it was remote! Facilities are comfortable as well. Nothing to complain about. The floor size was also big for an inn.

Not that I didn't like it but maybe something other people would like to know is that it's next to a cemetery, but we didn't even notice til it was morning because it was very dark outside when we checked in.

There was a TV that had a lot of unexpected episodes of shows my friends and I love for free. There was also an HDMI cord connected to the TV so we were able to play some games from our computers. The room (double queen beds) was really spacious; above average for a smaller hotel. It was within walking distance of an uncrowded beach (even on President's Day weekend the beach hardly had anyone there). We rearranged some furniture and were told by a really sweet employee that it wasn't a problem and that housekeeping would gladly take care of putting it back.

We had some issues with the TV remote being laggy. Also important to note that there is no freezer in the room, just a small refrigerator. On the first night of the trip, an old woman knocked on our door and then immediately left, which was bizarre. We think it could have been because of noise; but it was 7:30PM on a Saturday night and we had been playing music at a reasonable volume for about 20 minutes and even checked from outside of the room whether it would be too loud. We didn't answer the door out of caution, but we did turn down the music regardless.

i liked the staff at check in and the room was very nice. large and clean. the endless supply of soaps, shampoo, conditioner, lotions were great. it was a peaceful and quiet place.

the access from outside was only thru the lobby entrance. i parked outside of my room but could not bring my things in that way. i had to haul them all the way back to the lobby then all the way back down the hall to my room. they should allow access to doors closer to the room you stay in. the room was great but the furniture was a little shabby and worn. bed a little squeaky. nothing too bad though. . you have to keep the shudders on the windows closed at night especially because the traffic is coming right at you all night and it's very close. they had good high quality shudders though.

Room was excellent, and the gentleman at reception was very kind. If you like walking, you can easily walk to the pier where the tours leave from and the coast. There were 4 sea otters at the pier, just lounging and living their best lives! The beach is lovely and not crowded.

Not an inconvenience for me, but the room had a small refrigerator, not a microfridge. There is one microwave by reception for everyone’s use. Not something I’ve seen at other places, but maybe that’s a CA energy saving practice?

Location? Easy to find and easy to launch our days activity from. There was no breakfast, but the coffee machine was pretty good and lucky for us we had brought our cooler with food. Shampoo - conditioner and shower gel were better than expected. ':')

No breakfast offering. ':O Only surprise was the strong air freshener sprayed by housekeeping. (not needed - really ':I Otherwise we were satisfied with our accomodation - Thanks!

Moss Landing is a long time fisherman's harbor. The California State Marine Lab, was a later addition. But it's clear that the Marine Lab adds economic vitality to the area. That said, I like the "feel" of a working fisherman's harbor. Phil's Fish Market & Eatery is an authentic seafood restaurant, with good offerings, and an attractive patio setting, to eat at. The food is fresh and delicious! Moss Landing is midway between Santa Cruz and Monterey, so it's only a short drive to either.

The motel is new ... so the amenities are fresh and clean. If you like very soft beds, this is your spot ... but for me personally, I need a firm bed.

Only bananas left out that I noticed. Door lock on bathroom door needs to be fixed. Keurig coffee maker in room and large coffee etc maker in lobby.

Very comfy beds and room but the a/c unit was loud and not very efficient. Prefer all Starbucks k cups, not just one. Disappointed that the windows wouldn’t open more than a few inches. Phone needs to have call numbers marked on it, not a sign in lobby. No microwave in room.

24/7 beverage kiosk in lobby

Some kiosk coffee and hot chocolate flavors were out on day 1 and not replenished during our 4 night stay. The motel desk was not always manned during the day and there s no staff on premises from 11 pm on until someone arrives in the morning. I was uncomfortable with their lack of security and verification of replacement room key issuance and self service room key service. On one occasion I saw a guest self check using the employee computer behind the counter. The guest was shocked that she was given full access to the computer.

Room was very clean and bed/comforter was actually softer compared to others we’ve visited. I actually liked the fact that it was a hand soap pump, lotion, shampoo & conditioner that were of good quality, as other hotels typically have the travel size items that feel watered down w/bars of soap instead of a pump (I’d buy a hand soap pump instead of using the bars). I felt the room & layout was a perfect size for our family stay (2 queen beds) or for 2 traveling adults. Staff was very friendly. Reception area had complimentary coffee & hot chocolate, microwave, and fruits. The coffee was actually very good that I didn’t need to grab one from the cafe nearby. The Inn itself looks fairly new so shops that would be attached to the building are still vacant.

Nothing wrong with the Inn. I found it interesting that it was literally across from the Castroville cemetery. Not that it bothered me, but it may for travelers who watch too many scary movies. ;)
