The gentlemen at the evening check in was extremely welcoming. They saw that we were traveling with children and immediately informed us about cookies and hot chocolate that were available. Thank you for that! Also, the breakfast was great- Egg omelets, potatoes and sausage, French toast, cereal, fruit, bagels etc.

The homeless encampment around the bend was not pleasant (the railings in the parking lot + security helped ease any concerns).

Overall this was a pleasant stay. The automated text messages sent before my arrival were out of date, talking about COVID restrictions that were long ago updated - they should fix that. As is common with many hotels now, I was surprised to see parking tacked on at 11.50 a night. Honestly, hotels should EXPECT to provide parking as part of the room cost. I did re-check the hotel listing - normally I avoid hotels with extra charges - but it IS in the listing, I just missed it. With a light rail stop directly outside the hotel, I was pleased to be able to leave my car in the hotel's over-priced parking lot and travel into town by light rail (I was attending meetings at the Capitol) for just $3.50 a day. The outdoor pool was chilly but very pleasant. The breakfast was not very special - particularly their choice of only one (or no) meat dish. One day was just biscuits and gravy. However, the coffee was hot and the fruit juice was good.

The air conditioning was a little odd - getting it to cool the first day was a battle. I think they had left it switched off and it was having to cool the room down from a high temperature. At one point I thought I'd have to call the front desk to get an engineer. They do not normally offer room cleaning. That should have been mentioned at check-in. I didn't mind, apart from the fact that I had to call down to get coffee for the in-room coffee machine. I didn't need a fridge, and it didn't have an on/off switch, so I had to wear earplugs at night so as not to be woken by the whirring. Having a fridge for those who need it is a plus, but not having a way to turn it off if you don't want it is an inconvenience.

Some things I liked: big picture window on 4th floor with double drapes so I could enjoy the sun/view or darken the room. I used the provided desk the most. I really enjoyed the chaise lounge and little table abutting where I had my morning coffee and read and looked out the window. Very relaxing. The bathroom was very roomy. My guests and I enjoyed the clean pool and plenty of pool towels, and chairs and tables around the pool.Goo

Very nice rooms - well laid out, inviting lobby. Bed was very comfortable. Great sheets. Lovely bathroom/shower. Clean and light. Good AC! Also, the front desk manager, Glen made it a great stay. He’s a class act. Helpful, kind and personable. Thanks Glen.

There was what looked like a spaghetti sauce stain on the room rug that hadn’t been cleaned. The room hvac was really loud - be also very cooling, so it was an acceptable tradeoff when it was 105 degrees outside!

Breakfast was great for me. Getting to and from the hotel was a little weird because of the somewhat strange steeets around it. Once I got used to it it was fine.

Only complaint was that the TV control did not seem to work properly. Don't know whether it was the TV itself or the control. I didn't complain and get it resolved because, frankly, I didn't want to watch TV very much and didn't want to take the time to resolve the issue.

Frank at reception was a great guy and made our stay even better. Frank was always very polite and helpful and it was nice to be greeted by a friendly person when returning or leaving the complex. Our room was spacious modern and clean. The beds were comfy. Having a full breakfast provided by the motel every morning was a great addition to our stay. Alfred the chef was always up for a chat and gave us plenty of suggestions on what to do in the area. Alfred’s food was always cooked fresh and spot on. The location was perfect for us located right next to Sacramento State University we will definitely be back. Just a special thanks to Frank and Alfred for making our trip to America extra special.

There was a huge amount of land fill rubbish spread all over the hill out side our window. When the property lost power because of a storm we couldn’t open our window to cool the room because of the rubbish smell. Also the cost for parking should be free.

Wonderful people, very friendly, beautiful room, comfortable beds, close to the area we wanted to be. Breakfast was terrific, although seating was a little limited. They provided many options.

The only reason I didn't give it a 10, was the construction of the walk-in shower allowed water to flow in the wrong direction causing flooding in the bathroom. Staff was very accommodating.

The location was close to where we wanted to be. The room was comfortable and clean. The hotel staff was friendly and helpful.

I didn’t like that we had to pay an extra fee for parking. Why don’t the hotels simply include any parking fee in the room price. It would be much more up front and not hit you with add ons?
