Quiet times are not followed or "enforced". I've had other hostels do a better job at ensuring quiet times are followed and respected by all travelers. Cat roaming free in the room and on the beds (It's the hostels cat). Note: I'm sure they would have done something about it if I said I did not like cats or prefer not having one around, but I'm not afraid or allergic to cats, so I didn't bother bringing it up. Also, if you like cats I guess this might be a plus to you. The rest of the stuff I "did not like" I expected since it is a hostel such as (number of people in room, snoring, ...). But still fine for the the price. Note: they have a sign that say you can ask to switch rooms if your roommate snores and they offer earplugs for free.

It is RIGHT on the beach which is what drew me to this hostel. I stayed in the 8 bed women's room, and because it is upstairs in the back, it was a pretty quiet room - probably the best location for me. I did wear earplugs to sleep since I tend to go to bed pretty early. There are daily events which are fun, and the deck is great - hammocks and couches, and there is always fun music playing and people hanging out. They also have beach chairs and stuff to borrow which was awesome. I went to Heart Yoga in nearby Mission Beach for beach yoga and it was lifechanging.

I wish the bunk beds had things like curtains or privacy screens, and shelves with outlets, like I've seen at other hostels. Also, the bathroom in our 8 bed women's room was a traditional bathroom, so if someone was taking a shower or was in there a long time, you had to go downstairs and hope the one off the deck was open. In other hostels, they have toilet stalls and shower stalls so that there is more availability.

right on the beach .. very chill vibes .. staff especially Stacie was amazing .. it’s not the Hilton but it’s not supposed to be .. it’s a beach bungalow on the beach .. sandy and kind of old exactly what you would expect for a beachfront bungalow ..I had a great relaxing chill weekend ..especially on the hammock..the hostel has activities every night that you can participate in or you can just chill and do your own thing .. no judgement at all..

The hostel is right by the beach and has amazing sunset views from the common deck where a lot of travellers hang out. They had a free barbecue dinner for everyone on Sat night which was super fun. Super convenient for surfers to rent boards and wet suits and go out surfing.

The make your own breakfast included was a little chaotic for ppl who are not very good at cooking ( like me) but was still part of a fun experience so I wouldn’t complain

Loved the location. Most of the staff was pretty awesome and helpful. Loved the breakfast and the common areas. I think everyone loves the hammocks!

The quiet hours are optional. I'm a night owl but I do like my sleep. It was loud with music past 1AM and people talking all night until sunrise (and I did have a private room).

The Morning views of the beach and surfers was pretty amazing. The location is in a cool area with lots to explore and or do. Breakfast was pretty filling and was always on time and full of pancakes, bannanas, oatmeal, hot coffee , and tea options. Occasionally some other things were on the table as well.

The room that I stayed in was "FAIR" the door did not lock, and no card keys were given. The bathroom shower could have been cleaner. There are other rooms that were like the photos on booking.com but my room was not that nice.

Excellent location! This hostel faces the magnificent Pacific Ocean. It is the very best seaside hostel I have stayed. I wish I would have known this hostel earlier as I feel that the previous four nights were wasted on staying at various beachside hostels at San Diego and LA.

The condition of this hostel is slightly aged and it definitely needs upgrades in future. The beach is crowded with people.

This place is amazingly decorated with many surfing-inspired graffiti and surf board decorations. The location is 100/100. Just by the beach. There are place for hanging wetsuits and put surf board. It also offer soft top surf board rental at $20 a day which is very cheap. It is very clean considering it’s a hostel dorm.

It was a great place with a definite Cali vibe. My wife and I decided to do something different for a honeymoon, and this fit us just right! Met some incredible people, and didn't feel unsafe rooming with strangers. Everyone is respectful and easy to talk to.

The only thing my wife and I didn't like was just how thin the bathroom doors were. Everyone could hear everyone with all the beds in the same room. Otherwise all was just great.

This is a great little spot for anyone looking to stay in a great space. The beach is right at your front door, and it's a fun place. It's definitely a place people have fun at, so it may not be a perfect fit for an older crowd, but the staff is super friendly, helpful and you can see how much they care about each other. They bring that care to the people there.
