Location was great, right on the beach, cute little rooms with comfy beds, balconies overlooking the gorgeous Pacific. Amenities were pretty minimal but we didn’t mind.

Parking situation: plenty of spaces, we just couldn’t pay. You’re supposed to scan a QR code at the front desk in order to pay for your parking but the app NEVER worked. It never allowed payment. Staff had no clue and actually one manager got attitude basically saying it “wasn’t her problem.” Ridiculous, so we never parked at the hotel fearing getting towed. Eventually (after our return home) someone reached out from LAZ PARKING and said he’d alert his IT support.

The location was great! It was right on the beach and surrounded by restaurants. The gentleman at the front desk was very friendly. The pool was nice and clean. We were on a ground-floor level which provided great access to the beach. Housekeeping has to be requested but they worked quickly and were very clean!

The room has some upgrades like the sink/vanity but is still dated. The shower head was very low so I had to bend over while showering to wash my hair. The bed was also weirdly low. On the ground floor rooms, there is a porch light above the back door that stays on all night and is bright enough to see around the curtains.

the view wasn't bad but could be better. pretty clean. bed was comfortable. was quiet at night for the most part. beach area is okay but down the beach towards belmont park was more fun. a lot of food options around. wifi didn't work the first day but then it was fine. lady at the front desk and the cleaners were very nice. woody's restaurant right in front had amazing tasting pancakes and a good acai bowl, both filling, shown in my photo

pillows were extremely lumpy, not good at all. people above our room were being loud walking or banging things around at night. room was pretty small and weirdly shaped when you first walk in. shower water pressure was not good.

This is our years long tradition place we keep coming back to- it has the best location right on Pacific beach. It’s great to start the day with a coffee from Woodies right outside the hotel gate and walk forever on the beach! The staff is wonderful! We have known Mercedes for years and she always has a smile and kind reception! The junior suites are spacious with a bar area with sink, microwave and fridge. The beds are so comfortable and you can hear the waves at night. It’s a great vacation there!

No blow dryer in the room. Coffee pot didn’t work.

Ocean view room. Very friendly and helpful staff. Real, down to earth experience... it's not fancy like a Hilton, it's welcoming and more like and old fashioned motel with a few upgrades and sitting right on the beach. There's no food served because they're surrounded by all sorts of wonderful places to eat any kind of food you can imagine. The microwave is in the lobby but your room has a fridge for those left-overs, snacks and beverages. I liked the liveliness on the boardwalk, the chatter of people on the beach all mixed in with the soothing sound of the waves... it's a soothing sound. When I wanted quiet, I just closed the doors. This place is all about what you're going to do outside and there's a lot to do.

The chain smoker on the balcony over from mine. Whenever they were in their room, I had to keep my sliding glass doors shut. But that wasn't the hotels fault and they didn't stay long.

Service was extraordinary! Bed was comfy and sheets/towels were spotlessly white. Hot water when needed. Great view of the ocean close by. Pool was 82 degrees and very clean. Right next to World Famous Restaurant which has fabulous food, and easy walking distance to other restaurants and a grocery store. Other guests were polite and friendly. Dogs were welcome. We will definately go back again as soon as possible.The hoe

The hotel is older and needs refreshing. However, everything was in working order. A new paint job on the exterior and new carpeting in the hallways would be nice. But this is a beach hotel with kids and dogs, so wear and tear is to be expected.

I loved being so close to the ocean. The room was clean and maid service through reservation was a nice touch. The pool was clean and water temperature was perfect.

I did not like that parking was not included in the booking price. For the price we paid, parking should have been included.

THE LOCATION WAS AMAZING!! I was nervous because so many reviews mentioned the smell of mold, but other than the normal atmosphere caused by being close to the beach and the staff not using those flowery, fake "air fresheners", which I REALLY hate, there wasn't any problem with this in my opinion--and I'm very sensitive to airborne contaminants. Would DEFINITELY stay here again.

Parking was an issue. I asked if they had parking, which they do have. What they didn't tell me was that there was a charge for it. Also, I was there on Memorial Day weekend, so the place was BUSY and parking was VERY tight. The spots are TINY and there were tons of guests that brought trucks/suvs that were just shy of being RVs. There was NO way they would fit in the hotel's tiny spots, so these vehicles took up extra spaces that just made parking even harder to find.

Ocean view is breathtaking! Hotel is perfect for a boardwalk stay. Walking distance from everything you need for an amazing experience. Staff were friendly, courteous, and quick to help make things better.

Hotel fixtures could use an update. Basic amenities meet your needs but a microwave in the room would be a nice upgrade for most people, in my opinion. If you don’t plan on spending much time in the room, this place is great! But soaking in a bathtub after a long day at the beach is pretty much impossible here because they only have a shower stall in the room.
