I was so happy with my stay here! I didn't know what to expect, but I was positively surprised. The room was very clean, bed comfortable, complimentary shampoo/soap provided, plenty of clean towels available. My room had a private bathroom and even a mini fridge. The location is fantastic, I felt very safe and it's only a few minutes walk from Union Square. Check-in was easy and secure and the front desk employees were friendly and professional.

The only real downside was that it can be a bit noisy. The walls/doors must be pretty thin because you can hear any activity/conversation that takes place in the halls. Thankfully, I had pretty quiet neighbors and only heard cleaning crew during the day, and people coming and going at night. There was not an issue of constant street noise or any sustained noise.

The location and the service was great. Also the bed and space was good for the price.

It was very easy to hear other people on the building and that made it seem unsafe but everyone I met was very nice regardless.

Hotel Ikon surprised me - it was clean, great room, excellent central location - best value for this type of hotel I’ve experienced across many countries

location was excellent ti Chinatown, Union Square, and SamTrans and Amtrak bus stops along Mission Street.

There wasn’t enough lights in the room and there was no safe in the room or any ice machines in the hotel.

Good facility providing washing machine, simple breakfast making oven etc. shared mirror on the hallway. Big room and quiet. It is a bit cold at night as the sheet is not that thick.
