Wonderful old hotel ,with atmosphere. Courteous staff and always helpful when questions were asked.

The property needs a cafe where you can have quality simple meals or snack or breakfast that isn’t like McDonalds , or breakfast in a paper bag. There was no style or elegance instead it is a very unattractive place.I had pasta there the night we arrived and it was poor quality food and my friend had a watery soup with old stale bread. The tables and seating are unattractive. The wastage of plastic, cardboard and paper is not sustainable, I was surprised,no recycling! We found a small , delightful restaurant near the Westin St Francis, which was atmospheric, where we could have a glass of wine and a delicious meal at not an exorbitant price, eg two gin and tonic’s at Caruso’s bar $36. We would liked to have linged over breakfast , but retired very quickly from this place.

If you like a hotel that has a rich history in a city and at the same time is immaculate and strives to meet your every need, the St. Francis is a hotel for you.

There was a $25 per day hotel fee that I didn't quite understand but with it we received tickets for the trolley, a free bike rental coupon and a few other amenities and also could purchase food at the hotel with that $25 that was required to be paid. Every day we made that work by purchasing morning coffee. We also ate a few pasta dishes from a casual restaurant in the lobby that were fine for a traveler--not like grandma makes, but good!

The best location in san francisco, in walking distance to all the nice places. It had a very old american feeling to it which was normal considering the building dates back to 30’s. jeff from the consierge was very patient listening to my car rental problems and he really helped so I would like to thank him again. Bottled water is free in this hotel from the moment you check in till you leave and that is a big plus since nobody likes to pay absurd amounts of money for drinking water.

We stayed at the towers, which need to be renewed soon bec both the room and the bathroom was very outdated but it was very clean so we didn’t mind. At the check out, we found out that they charged us for something named “destination fee”, which we knew nothing about. When we told this to someone at the front desk, he reluctantly accepted to cancel the fee :(

The staff were incredibly helpful and friendly. The room comfortable. I liked that the thermostat could be turned off, especially during the nightI also appreciated that the bed had both a heavy comforter and a light one. Being a warm sleeper, I only needed the light one, therefore I had a really good nights sleep. Unusual for me in hotels.

The half and half in the room was spoiled and we didn't have time to call for more. The coffee in the coffee shop in the lobby was not good, even the Americanos. Don't know if it was the quality of the coffee or the inexperience of the one who prepared it. I love it that you gave out refillable bottles but don't know why you were also giving away single use bottles of water. It would be much more consistent and better for us all, including the environment, if you installed "fill your own bottle stations" near the elevators.

Location is good, close to cable car start where they flip it, close to all Hop on hop off buses, close to Macy's. Staff is nice, rooms are clean and comfortable beds. We received free cable car tickets and thermoses. Elevator was awesome, especially as we had our rooms on one of the higher tower levels - we could see the city during going up and down. The interior is lovely, full of flowers.

Many crazy homeless strange people are wandering around the area. Although we had no problems during our stay, we just experienced a shop theft in the CVS next to the hotel...

I liked that the front desk accommodated us by giving us a room looking over Union Square. I asked for it on my reservations through Booking.com, but didn't transfer to the hotel computer. So Im pleased you put us in room 429 with two windows looking over the square, and not charging us extra. Thank you so much. Oh, I also love the waterflow machine, that was great! The water is cold and amazing tasting. 👏The staff, security, house keeping are all very nice, professional, and helpful.

I don't like that you can hardly see the sign for the parking garage where valet is for the hotel off Geary St. We had to park in public parking across the street. Which turned out to be cheaper by $100 dollars. I think directions need to be a little more visible with signs you can see. I also think answering the phone quickly would be great for business, I got the run around on the phone, with people not knowing the answer to questions.

Swift check in & check out. City views from Junior Suite were excellent. Central location was convenient for breakfast, lunch & dinner dining as well as pick up point for tours. BART Station nearby for airport connection with Street Car & Cable Car stops also nearby

No Hotel Directory or Local tourist information in room. Hotel Concierge desk was unmanned for the first 2 days of our visit.

Wonderful hotel, location and all the Staff were very welcoming. We had the pleasure of meeting Azucena for our check-in. In addition to welcoming us on our first stay in San Francisco, she provided so much information about the hotel, dining, services and the area. We checked in with Azucena daily….such a wonderful woman who truly cares about the guests staying at the hotel and goes beyond to ensure everyone feels welcome and taken care of during their stay. The Westin is lucky to have Azucena as part of their team.

Upon check in the first host was rude to my daughter. Her name was added to be on the check in and he said that he not able to see that since we booked through booking.com. She didn’t see his name but on his name tag it said “my passion is Disney”. He should have been more considerate since she did travel quite a ways to meet us there. Once we got there the second check in host was absolutely amazing!

Absolutely love the location and the lobby including the history of the hotel. We also got a free upgrade to a higher floor with a good view of the city during our last 2 nights. Staff were always prompt to address our concerns.

We were in the Tower bldg which seemed a bit old. The water in the toilet bowl was a bit yellowish which the staff explained must be due to the old pipes. And since we were there for the New Year, the elevators were always almost full.
