Quiet, peaceful, clean, comfortable, secure, well managed, updated and well maintained property.  There’s no smoking and no pets which is a big plus for us. Mary does a great job all around. What an asset to the property. Continental style breakfast is not the usual, same stuff as you get in every other property, It is home prepared and has personal attention. Very comfortable experience. Rooms have air-conditioning and widescreen TV with complete entertainment selections. Those amenities were not listed.  You will not be disappointed like so many other places in the area. 

The only thing I would suggest is to have some softer seating in the rooms to view the television. The period chairs are not well suited for that purpose, but a great room nonetheless 

We stayed in the suite. it was a very large room and very clean. Beautifully decorated. The bathroom was large and the two person tub and shower were both very nice. Loved the little balcony. It was very clean and overlooked a very old cemetery. All part of the historic town. Breakfast is simple (bagels, English muffins, yogurt, hard boiled eggs, oatmeal and juice). Enough to get your day started.

We expected more of a b&b atmosphere. When we arrived we were told to “Sit down we have rules.” 😐 We also expected (from booking websites)welcome drinks and happy hour. Wine in the room or cookies at night would have heightened the stay. Most shops close by 4:00 so much time is spent in the room. Again the room was beautiful. Staff is not on site after 5:30.

The attention to detail such as beautiful gardens, excellent toiletries, cozy robes, wonderful breakfast, comfy beds, nice linings, extreme cleanliness and wonderful friendly, professional and helpful service by the staff made our stay unforgettable. We will definitely come back. We have stayed in many nice hotels and B&B’s, I can say with confidence that The Inn at 161 is absolutely exceptional.

I can’t provide any constructive feedback when I get excellence and my expectations are exceeded.

This is a great location for walking to town. The room was large with a very comfortable bed and a great air conditioner. The staff is wonderful. There is a lovely outside area where we were able to picnic with our Gold Dust pizza (best pizza ever). The inn even provides wine glasses and opener. The breakfast room is delightful with real tea/coffee service. They have a refrigerator to keep your leftovers which is great since there's no fridge in the room.

It would have been nice to have a few more items for breakfast. This is a basic continental breakfast with hard-boiled eggs, yogurt, bagels, cereal, coffee cake, fruit, and tea or coffee. Overall, it was a great stay and I would highly recommend it.

I guess the only reason it didn’t get a 10 from me is because the breakfast was kind of boring. It was the exact same both mornings and if they’re doing a Continental Breakfast, it would have been nice to have some pastries, croissants… something a little more special. Maybe add a mimosa option for breakfast. But I would go back and I’d recommend it

The hosts were extremely skilled at making guests feel welcome, comfortable, and happy. Both Mary and Keri (sp?) seemed to really enjoy what they do. The Inn, grounds, and rooms are meticulously maintained. The breakfast was perfect. We were sad that we missed the Fri/Sat wine session in the afternoon. I'm sure it was as good as everything else.

If I were to complain about anything, it would be the road noise in room #4. Old Highway 49 is busy until maybe 9 or 10 PM, and starts up again at 4:30 AM. If you are a light sleeper, that is not the room for you. There are other rooms that are away from the road, so next time that's where we'll sleep. Really the only problem.

The inn is built in a home that was built in the 1800's. It has been beautifully renovated on the inside, and the grounds are immaculate. The staff is very friendly, the rooms are very nice and comfy, and the location to downtown is great.

Most of the bed and breakfast locations in Sutter Creek offer a delicious homecooked breakfast. We have stayed at three inns in town, and the breakfast here was the worst of the three. It is a continental breakfast with yogurt, granola, store bought muffins, and bagels. The inn overall is great, the breakfast, not so much.

The breakfast was great, we loved the complimentary wine and charcuterie on Friday and Saturday. The staff was very nice and helpful. The location was quiet and not on the main street but still close enough to walk. The room was spacious and the bathroom had plenty of room, which was nice, because I wasn't sure from the pictures how small it would be. There was one small refrigerator to share and there was always room, I was able to bring a few things I needed to be put in the fridge.

The bed was a little uncomfortable but we had the room with the queen bed however the pillows were really great and comfortable. It would be nice if there was a towel bar in the bathroom or more hooks for the towels.

Very welcoming host, well-thought out, comfortable and large room, and a good breakfast. Love the bathtub. Pretty gardens accessible to sit out and enjoy, and a short walk to the main street for dinner or wine-tasting.

This is a suggestion, not compliant - the room was large enough that it might have been nice to have a relaxing-type chair, but not a big deal.

Our only complaint was that we slept on the lower level and the creaking of the floors from people in the rooms above us kept waking us up all morning. If we stayed again we would request a room on the upper level.
