Breakfast was great. Our room was clean and nice. Loved the location and it was easy to find. The bed was very comfortable.

Where the carpet met the tile for the kitchen the carpet tack strip was sticking up. My husband stepped on it a couple times before we covered it up with a towel to remember not to step there. The hot tub didn’t seem to have enough water so when the jets turned on it sprayed water up really high and would soak your hair which I did not want to do. It was also kinda dirty which was surprising because everything else seemed to be well kept.

Motorcycling across country from Richmond, Virginia to the Grand Canyon, we've stayed in a different place each night. Baymont by Wyndham in Cortez checks all the boxes for 5 stars, for me...clean rooms, comfortable beds and pillows, great location, beautiful pool area with awesome mature tropical plants. They seem to be fully staffed and everyone is friendly. The reason I can't give it all five stars, is because our room smelled of heavy smoke. They were very kind and offered some Febreze, and even offered to give us another room, but we'd been on the road all day and were exhausted. Being ex-smokers, albeit many years ago, we decided to live with. We actually slept very well. So yea, great place except for that smokey aroma.

The king suite was spacious with a seating area furnished with a fold-out sofa, oversized chair, large coffee table and French doors that opened to the balcony. The kitchenette had a small coffee pot, microwave and refrigerator. The room also included a desk & chair, dresser and large cabinet for hanging clothes. An iron & ironing board and hair dryer were provided. The elevator and open walkways to the room surrounded an inner courtyard with sky lighting, hanging plants on each level and indoor pool & spa on the ground level.

The staff was cheerful and helpful. She put us in a ground floor room in the back, which was helpful with my dog. The room was very clean, roomy and the bed was very comfortable. It had a nice strong shower. The AC worked well. Breakfast was nice with options like waffles and pre-made cheese omelets.

I would have liked English muffins rather than just toast or uninspiring bagels, and better coffee (it had a bitter aftertaste). But otherwise a good selection for breakfast.

The location was very convenient. Check in was fast and efficient. There was a great breakfast with many options: coffee, yogurt, pastries, eggs, sausages, waffles, etc. The room was very large, quiet and with exterior direct access using stairs instead of going through the lobby to take the elevator. The room had a nice kitchenette well furnished with dishes, silverware, detergent, etc. People were enjoying the pool but we didn't use it.

We noticed that guests were not wearing masks although it is required under "House rules, The fine print": "Due to the coronavirus (COVID-19), wearing a face mask is mandatory in all indoor common areas."

Thought this would just be a basic stop-over hotel on our way to Mesa Verde, but it turned out to be alot more. Laundry facilities were excellent, and the staff were beyond helpful (gave us free detergent). The swimming pool area is an amazing little paradise that the pictures online do not do justice. The plants hanging from the balconies not only give it character, but they are also real (which was very unexpected). The hot tub was the perfect temperature for my sore muscles, and my daughter had to be dragged from the pool. Location was ideal for getting out of town early for Mesa Verde. A hotel that definitely exceeded my expectations.

The interior of the rooms was a touch dated, and the shower and toilet were slightly temperamental. Breakfast was basic, but functional. The hotel set-up is also a little weird: some are outside the main area, and others are inside by the pool. Hard to describe, but it all works out fine.

The room was great. The only problem was at 2:30 in the morning the TV in the adjacent room. It was on for about 2 hours. We did not report this to the front desk as we just thought it was bad luck. The next night, the same thing happened at the same time but we were leaving. I reported it to the front desk when we checked out only to find out there was a problem with the room beside ours with an electrical problem that turned the TV on at 2;30. My question was why they put us in that room in the first place. It was a nice room but had a problem in the next room.

Breakfast was good and a good variety. At our previous nights stay at another motel they charged $12 for less than half of the Baymont's and it wasn't worth $3.

Mattress in our room was a bit dated and sagged. Needs replacing this year. Pillows weren't up to par, so they should be updated as well. Overall the room was in good condition and comfortable.

Cortez has quite a few large motels that are quite empty in May, so perhaps it's a ski destination. Anyway, this rather standard Wyndham Baymont has great beds and showers, and a decent breakfast. But the most wonderful thing was their Wifi -- it's by Amerispot, and we got 160 Mbps downloads -- I don't even get that at home, and I didn't know my laptop was capable of that speed. The other worthwhile thing to know is that there is a huge parking lot with room for your RV or trailer. In fact there were about six commercial trucks there with no problem finding space. Check out the Google map satellite view before you come to plan where you'll stop. Walmart is in walking distance, and Denny's is practically next door.

Check in customer service was horrible le. I waited over 10 minutes for the boy to come to the desk and he immediately picked up the ringing phone and left me standing there for another 5 minutes while he talked on the phone, instead of placing the caller on hold. Then, I used the laundry facilities and after loading the washer and putting in the quarters, it didn't work! The same boy did refund my money.
