Nice central location, a hop from Leadville RR station (a boon - it is a tourist railroad with only a mid-day train each day, so NO regular trains or noise from that ... ), helpful friendly staff, cozy and roomy lounge, even with a fireplace, I think. Kitchen facilities for guests, even coffee always available. Wish I could've stayed longer. Comfy bed.

Rooms and dorms were in the basement with a very steep staircase - normally OK, but could be an issue, I opted to leave the rather heavy suitcase in the car. "My" room (named Mt. Elbert, a double) was tiny and didn't have a window, so was suitable for sleeping only and not to hang out in (again, nice lounge for that), yet this was sufficient for the one night I stayed there passing through with unfortunately little time to really enjoy the place.

The staff was friendly and communicated wonderfully. This isn't the Four Seasons, so you can't expect the facilities to be luxurious, but if you have the right expectations, everything is great. I booked a private room and it was clean, the bed was comfy, the sheets and towels were good, and the room had little extras (like a fan, lamp, etc) to add comfort.

You do have to share a bathroom and that would be my one downgrade for the place. The floor in the shared mens room was constantly wet and very slippery, which made using the toilets a bit annoying.

I can't say enough about this visit. The hosts were exceptional at making you feel at home. There is a full kitchen, dining room, sitting area, television viewing, books, games, DVDs, and comfy couches and chairs. They have quiet time starting at 10 p.m. which is nice for everyone staying there. You can still come and go but voices and volumes must be low. -Comfortable, clean beds. -Clean showers/restrooms, linens -Friendly people eager to share their stories/adventures (if you want that) -Washer and dryers -Great for family and pets

um, I was there a week and I didn't really feel anything was missing from our stay. We were there to enjoy the mountains and community and we were able to do both of those things.

This was my first stay in a hostel. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The kitchen area was very well equipped and even had some free food options. The full-size beds were very comfortable and seemed new. There were three common areas where we enjoyed visiting with others. Outside had tables and chairs, huge dining table with room for all, and a very comfortable den like area.

I would have liked a TV in the room.

Owner is friendly, well-organized, and firm on house rules including quiet hours. Fully equipped kitchen with storage space in labeled bins. Good location a few blocks from restaurants and attractions. Supermarket about 1 mile away.

We had requested lower bunks but the request got lost in the system (and I failed to follow up/double-check), and the first night they were completely booked and only had uppers. The owner was apologetic, and we managed. After that they moved me to a lower bunk.

The Inn was great. It had a real "home-like" feeling to it. There was largely a friendly feeling amongst the guest. Leadville itself is a really cool little town, Pikes Pizza was amazing and a stop in at the Saloon was a must. It has really good access to climbing 14ers and if you need something a little bigger Frisco isn't far away.

It would have been a lot better if we'd been paired up with more like-minded people or even people who were staying multiple days. We stayed for 6 nights, and it seemed that each night our bunk mates changes. Typically they would arrive late disrupting our sleep. Maybe the planning for rooms should take into account who are longer term and who are short term??

We LOVED the kitchen at Inn in the Clouds. So organized, so clean, so sunny. Just delightful. The private bedroom had a comfortable bed (tempurpedic I think). It was a little cool but when we asked, a space heater warmed it up lickety split. The dining room and living room give two nice spaces for people to mingle and swap tall tales of tall mountains. We would have stayed longer but it's a popular place and books out!

Too popular :-)

The kitchen is well equiped, the lounge room is cozy, coffee is excellent. The staff is super friendly and helpful, We liked the garden and patio, ample parking, safety and policies.

The beds in the double room with private bathroom were uncomfortably hard, the matrasses could use a pillowtop. The bathroom has no fan.

The staff was very nice and the place extremely cozy. It's a hostel-hotel mix with few bunk beds and few private rooms. The common spaces are very nice and welcoming while the shared bathrooms seemed enough for everyone. Very cool experience at a very good price!

There's nothing not to like honestly!
