From the road, the motel looks a little run down, but once you get past the front building, it becomes a lovely quiet bit of heaven in the Keys! Nice clean rooms, clean pool with enough of chairs and even a shaded area. Short walk to the marina with a sandy area to sit and watch the sunset, fish, and swim in the shallow area. This is not a resort for picky people. It is a lovely place for the simple guest. Reminds me of Old Florida, and we loved it!

We are simple travellers that love a clean room, comfortable bed, and nice areas to sit outside. We don't require allot of fuss to make us happy. If you need the big screen TV, fancy lounge chairs by the pool, or organic fluffy towels, this is not the place for you! For us, it was a slice of Heaven! I hope they open the restaurant in front of the hotel again. That would make it perfect!

It's quiet and secluded. BBQ grills around the property with plenty of tables and chairs. Just a few blocks away, there is a Winn Dixie, Publix, Walgreens, and a Race Track gas station. Good Reterants, including a McDonald's. The location is just as perfect as The Black Fin. 1 15 minutes to Key West. 1 hour to Key Largo. The Black Fin is the only place that we will on our next trip to the keys. The boat is coming on the next trip. They have nice docks with a power hook up, the ramp is nice, and a fish cleaning station with lights.

Having to leave and go back to St. Petersburg Florida. Oh, and go back to work.

We arrived after check in time so the property emailed instructions where to get our key. There's a marina behind the lodging that had an excellent beach area. It was a great view of the sunset. It's a basic place to stay. Our room was small but clean. Nice amenities of pool and beach area.

The bed wasn't comfy. It was on some metal platform that sqeaked around and was hard. Room 16. They only gave us 1 towel each ...there were 2 of us...we arrived late so I'm sure if anyone was there they would have given more but office closes early.

We had the studio, and the kitchen was extremely well equipped! Better pans than I have at home. The bed was super comfy and everything was spotless clean. Lovely pool and beautiful view of the gulf, with bonus sunset every evening.

The engine cleaning the pool is extremely noisy, we had to ask to change room because we were too close and could hear it through closed windows and door. The staff was extremely accommodating, but hadn't they had spare rooms I don't know how we could have manged to sleep.

WHAT A TRULY HIDDEN GEM!!! Just needed a place to stay which would not be too far from our final destination which was Key West. Never thought this place would be so perfect and unique. The entrance area is plain and deceiving. Never judge a book or resort by their cover LOL. The Blackfin Resort had everything you could want in a bright comfortable motel room. There was outdoor seating and then a whole area with adorable paths that led down to the marina. At the end of the marina was a small beach area with a gazebo and chairs near the water that we stayed at for 3 hours to just chill and have some beer and wine along with our takeout food. Met a couple from Minnesota who actually towed their boat here for the 3rd year in a row. This place is one of Marathon's little secrets and we are so glad we discovered it. Thank you. Perfect for a quick stop over on route to Key West. You can do laundry on site. Room was comfortable with a nice bathroom and fridge and good air con. There is a pretty dock and seating area by the water at the back. We saw manatees in the wharf in the morning and we sat and looked at the stars at night.

I didnt find any restaurants in walking distance - all were a drive or taxi away but there are good options e.g. IHOP and Dennys. There was supermarkets and coffee shops near by. We found a great restaurant/bar about a 5 minute drive away - Sunset Grille. Pillow was uncomfortable

The location was brilliant and in comparison to other properties, it was reasonably priced. The room was clean with coffee making facilities etc. The pool was good too. Nice and warm! The best bit was access to the little marina behind the motel which was gorgeous and the perfect place to watch the sun rise or set. Was a great position roughly half way along the keys and very near Bahia Honda and Sombrero beach, both of which are worth visiting. Also not too far for a day trip to Key West. Would recommend.

Some flies in the room but not a major problem for us.

We did not try the pool and the breakfast isn't an option but allow me to tell you what is so spectacular about this little gem. The room is immaculately clean and well kept. The employees are courteous and helpful. The grounds are well maintained and they offer washing machines and dryers for people to clean their clothes. The bed is so comfy They are close to anything you would like. There's a Publix Supermarket approximately a mile away. I cannot say mire about this place and if we ever return to Marathon, this us definitely our little hideaway.

Charming cottage-like room with access to beach and driving access to Key West.

Toilet tank did not always fill up expeditiously. A step-up was needed to adjust AC. We had 3 adults and 2 chairs but brought in one of the patio chairs, and used the outside mini-table to organize the breakfast nook, a space I appreciated. More coffee packs would have been nice since making it as directed made a weak brew, and more creamers (though non-powdered was appreciated). More tea bags would have been nice.

Everything! Sweet little place. Rooms were cozy and very clean. Perfect amount of space for two. The property was quiet and private with the pool set at the back just before a nice stroll past the houseboats to the waterside chill area with shade or sun areas and chairs or tables to hang out at. Staff was very friendly and I’m sure would have been helpful but we didn’t need anything. They were around, though. Working on the landscaping and cleaning the property with a smile. Zero complaints.
