Hotel is a hidden gem!!! Reasonably priced with ample parking. Establishment is conveniently located steps from St. Augustine Beach and is a short stroll or drive to a variety of local dining, entertainment, and St. Augustine area. Hotel is clean. Rooms are spacious and provide ammenities such as flat screened tv with cable, free wi-fi, fridge, microwave, coffee maker, A/C and heat. Grounds are manicured and well maintained. Over all this is a terrific place to stay. Great value in comparison to other hotels in the area.

Ocean view rooms are obstructed by buildings and trees. Transparency is used with " partial ocean view" rooms wording, but some would perceive this as misleading based on actuality. Also, the increase in price for this room view is not worth the value.

Breakfast choices

The location was good. Lots of restaurants walking distance. Walk to beach was 3 min. Laurie in the front desk was exceptional. She was so friendly, efficient, and professional. She gave us great recommendations for dining and accommodated us at the hotel. There’s a sauna and steam room, yoga Mats, a medicine ball, free weights, stationary bike, and treadmill. The hotel was very clean and the rooms are very large. Tile floor and beautiful spacious bathroom.

Jacuzzi was cold. Check In is at 4 It’s under construction so there’s noise and dust, but the upgrade is beautiful.

Would like to take a minute to commend the staff. We mainly interacted with Rhonda and Derek. They went above and beyond to make us comfortable. After arriving in our room, Derek from the front desk called us to see if our room was OK. He stated he could put us in a better room if we wanted. Our room was fine and we choose to stay put. Rhonda helped us with transportation and ideas for our visit to downtown area. Both Rhonda and Derek always greeted us with a smile, friendly chit chat and helpful ideas. We enjoyed our stay, and stayed an extra night. We felt so welcome. Thank you for a great stay.

There was nothing to complain about, except we do travel on limited income, and although I know it will still be a wonderful hotel, we were sorry that it no longer was a choice hotel. They are going over to Hilton. Hilton is also a great place, but their prices are higher than we can do. This was our 2nd year staying here. Hopefully the prices won't be too far out of reach.

I liked that it was a small facility. The decor was charming and homey. Beds comfy. Large room. Decent size refrigerator. The staff was very friendly. The front desk manager gave us a plan to grow. I would definitely stay there again.

The Castillo is undergoing renovations. Apparently the shower was half complete. The water pressure was horrible and the overhead shower trickled water. There was no dish to place soap or shampoo and no towel bars for wet towels. There was no light over the vanity, just a stand up lthe corner.

The hotel was under remodeling which was well communicated to us in advance. The room was very nice, spacious, clean. Location of the hotel was right next to beach access, on the main beach street, very convenient. There were many choices for dining around the hotel. Commute to St Augustine downtown was not too long. All in all a very nice stay.

Breakfast would have been a nice addition, however, understandably not a possibility with the renovation going on.

It was very close to the beach and out of all the traffic. Close to Shopping and away from the hustle and bustle of downtown.

It is currently under renovation, the renovation did not really affect us. The restaurant was closed. The parking lot was a little small and coming back from doing activities. It was hard to get a good parking spot.

The ppol was great, could have used a little TLC for cleaning tile inside pool. The room was spacious but the couch was old and dirty. We could tell the room was upgraded but new furniture and matrresses would also be good. The hotel has great bones and with a few decor improvements they could offer other lounging or viewing areas other than just the pool. For example, the balconies on 4th floor.

The mattresses could have been upgraded, the in room furniture as well.

Wonderful location, walking distance not just from the beach but to several restaurants and different options, like a Farmer's market, the pier, etc. Nice staff, no issues!

The hotel is under renovation but we truly didn't hear any construction during our stay. Quiet at night and we spent most of our days out. There was a minor glitch with a power outage during our stay, but it was resolved quickly. No issues! Great value for our money! You can't beat the location...

No breakfast served/ under renovations the office manager was very helpful and accommodating! She understood customer service.she financially corrected the dissatisfaction. I would definitely return there.

Noah . He was rude defensive and lacked customer service training. Demanded that I say please. Refused to give me the number of the manager of the hotel. Demanded that I check out before I would be given any paperwork.
