The location right on the water was so tranquil and instantly relaxing. A car is ideal, much easier to get to the supermarket and restaurants. The staff were super helpful. The gym was well equipped and with a view. Drinks at the lobby bar were great, too.

Noisy air conditioning which kicks in and out to regulate the temperature, which made it challenging to sleep. There are opening windows (in the block we stayed in) and it was cool enough to have these open at night and listen to the rain.

we really enjoyed your staff . for example, I asked for towels and they were in our room in 20 minutes. we added an additional night to our stay and the staff was able to keep us in the same room. location is great we will be back.

the only thing that was a b it off was the way you handle the foodservice. disjointed really. food was fine and service was very good but the way the lower restaurant is not affiliated with the rest of the location was disjointed. the pool was also basically out of service and noone had come to deal with it but the access to the ocean was better anyway.

The ocean veiw room on the 5th floor was exceptonal. The first room the had us in had a veiw of the roof and roftop equipment. I would highly recommend te ocean veiw room. Staff upgraded us for free but It would have been tragic to have to have spend 4 days looking at that roof. The staff at the hotel from front desk, valet, house keeping staff, bar staff, entertainment, was all to shelf. I would highly recommend this resort to anyone.

The first room they had us in had a horrble veiw of the roof and mechanical equipment on the roof. They room changed us to an ocean veiw room.

I recently had the pleasure of staying at the Grand Naniloa Hotel, a Doubletree by Hilton, and it was an amazing experience. The suite I stayed in had stunning views, and I loved the bath tub which made for a luxurious and relaxing soak. The property itself was open and welcoming, with plenty of spaces to relax and take in the gorgeous scenery. The staff was friendly and accommodating, and I appreciated the extra touches such as the warm cookies upon arrival. Overall, I would highly recommend the Grand Naniloa Hotel to anyone looking for a comfortable and luxurious stay in Hilo. The stunning views, relaxing bath tub, and welcoming atmosphere make it the perfect place to unwind and enjoy the beauty of Hawaii. I look forward to returning in the future!

I wasn't able to control the AC in the room, and it was set at a temperature that was much too chilly for my liking. While I appreciated the comfort of the room, it would have been nice to have the option to adjust the temperature to my preference.

The location was exceptional in terms of it's proximity to downtown Hilo and some of the areas major attractions. It was walkable or you had the option for bikes which was equally convenient. Dining options for breakfast, lunch and dinner were also easily accessible, when using the hotel restaraunt wasn't what we wanted. Nightly happy hours were a great opportunity to wind down and meet new people.

The hotel restarant was just ok and there was an odd struggle to find seating in desirable areas. Having to request fresh towels, while understandable, wasn't really convenient as a guest.

We liked the location and ambience on the shoreline. Loved the Banyon trees.

Free parking lot was a mess with potholes. The free drinks should be expanded to more than the 2 available.

Exelent view of the ocean and the fireworks for the 4th of July! Big, confortable room.

I had some little ants on the floor in the bathroom. They charged me extra $100 as a garantee, even if i payed the staying on Booking in advance. A lot of noise, smell from the barbeque during the party. A lot of homeless at the nearby bus station and on the main street in front of the hotel.

the food in the lobby bar is basic there was limited cleaning of the room( might be covid related) there are not a lot of restaurants on walking distance

We loved the huge corner suite with views of the water and palm trees. The pillows were very comfortable

The room is old and worn, particularly the balcony and some of the furniture. At night, insects were coming in through underneath the balcony door.
