There is a common kitchen which is nice. The bedroom was nice, though in the basement, and felt like it was in a basement.

There is a common kitchen which is nice, but there isn’t really a common area to sit and hang out, such as a living room with couches. Everything was clean in general, though there were some pebbles and an earplug on the ground in my room from a previous guest. Check in is contactless, though they wanted me to write down my credit card number and leave it on a piece of paper in the room for possible damage. This does not seem secure at all and is not modern practice. Location is sort of in the middle of nowhere. It was very close to the park entrance, but there are no real amenities in the area. Next time, I would probably stay closer to Hilo and drive down.

We were quite happy with our stay. The amenities were decent, though a comfy place to sit outside and in the shared dining/living area would have been nice.

My least favorite thing was that the hot water was too hot, which would have been fine if the shower had allowed for changing the temperature. If it was on full enough to rinse thoroughly it was too hot. If you tried to lower the temp, the shower was a trickle. This resulted in taking an overlong shower trying to go back and forth and compensate for the bad pressure vs the temp change. There is no oven and the toaster oven did not work at all. This should be replaced.

Great quiet location. Room was within a heritage building and it was so peaceful. Short drive up the road to Volcano Heritage Town and Volcano National Park. Room was very clean and lots of spare towels, soap and shampoo available. Wifi worked really well and lots of storage space in the cupboard. It was safe and secure and we had the property to ourselves for half the time which was a nice treat. Loved that parking was free and had lots of room to move around. It catered well for making your own meals and the staff were incredibly helpful and nice when we reached out to them.

House did have a faint smell of cat and there wasn't a basket of the sort to place used napkins in.

Best accommodation I had so far on the island, nestled within a beautiful garden and very close to the Volcano NP. Check-in is easy and extremely professionally organised. I loved my charming room on the ground floor with a most comfortable bed. Bathrooms were very clean, plenty of towels. Kitchen was equipped for preparing little meals. (Although I highly recommend the Tuktuk Thai Food Truck at the golf course)

Good location and price. Nice shared space with kitchen (might be a little small if fully booked). Parking available. Good internet. Would stay here again.

Fans and light in shared space must run 24/7. Kitchen equipment was good but might need some update. No tea towel to dry washed dishes. Message from host felt a little like spam. Too long messages and all the time the same. A little bit annoying.

We loved our stay here. We were able to eat, sleep, shower, cook, have a place to store food, and more.

Staying with other people that you don’t know could make you anxious or worried but it all worked out for us. We didn’t have any troubles with the other guests in the house.

Very nice place, quiet and relaxed. Close to the national park. It was self check in but they made sure to be there if anything needed. It could have been a bit cleaner. But overall it was good. Would definitely go back there again.

The location was great, very close to my friends home. I had ample space and had an upgrade to a larger bed. Plenty of hot water, towels and soaps. This was a 1st for me with a shared bathroom, but i was the only person on the lower floor for my stay.

The bed was hard. I was able to make it sleep able with the extra blanket and bedspread.
