April 2024
The early 20th century elegance of the Magnolia reminded me of Paris hotels we have stayed at. Yet, the property was much better maintained and spacious than those in Paris. I love that they have chosen not to change the furniture and decor from its 50’s-60’s heyday. Only the upholstered chaise showed signs of wear, but to be expected since it is the main seating if watching TV. The dinner at the on site restaurant was delicious, offered good choices and was convenient. The location is a 15 min walk to the Arch and sports stadium, and Randy at the front desk could not have been nicer and helpful with all questions. He also sought us out in the billiard room to announce fresh baked cookies and milk were ready, a custom at the Magnolia. You cannot go wrong with this hotel choice, unless your preference is for modern decor.

It was beautiful hotel. Parking cost was way too high. They should give guests a discount.
They are pet friendly, meaning your pet can stay there but there are no restaurants in hotel where pet can eat. We ended up walking several blocks to find a place where we could eat outdoors with our dog. They werent helpful in giving us that info either. Had to look it up. Hotel itself great but they need an outdoor area with restaurant so you can stay there and eat with your pet. And valet parking needs to be a lot cheaper.

The hotel is absolutely beautiful- stunning architecture and so well maintained. The room was quaint. The linens were high quality. The bed very comfortable. I felt at ease and at home immediately.
The woman who checked me in and out seemed annoyed- perhaps because I booked with Booking, Com instead of directly with them? The fitness center had a TV blaring and music overhead blaring. I asked for them to turn one of them off but they did not.

History of the Hotel and location. I walked specifically over to locust then up from 8th to the corner of 20th and had an amazing experience. Even saw some people fencing from the street.... Wild city, wild times. 😀
No vending machine for late night soft drinks, but the beautiful bar and tenders are more that happy to hook you up before the bar closes at 11pm. Remember folks tip ya bartenders most importantly.

We loved our stay here! This hotel is gorgeous. I absolutely loved all the details, stained glass, and chandeliers in the lobby and dining area! Our room was a really good size and the bed was incredibly comfortable. The shower's water pressure was also great. This hotel is located a little further from the arch than some others but is still in a great location.
Our Deluxe City View Room had two windows - one which peeked out into a square on the back of the hotel and another that looked out on to a fire escape and the building next door. Definitely not what I would consider an amazing view, but at least we could sort of see the city. I wish the room had better lighting over the large full-length mirror, and although I appreciated the seating area the coffee table was giant and oddly shaped (circular) which meant I banged into it when I got up in the middle of the night. Also, the only parking available is valet and it is very expensive.

The history of the hotel. The building has so many extraordinary features that make your stay there feel like being in a European hotel.
The food could have been better. The bar did not offer a lot of options. It was great if you are a wine or beer type of person. No fans in the bathroom which created a lot of condensation when showering.

Great location, close to ball field.
Texted for the car in the am and received a text back about 15 minutes later saying no valet was available. Went to check out (on a timeframe for airport), and the clerk went into the game room to wake up the valet who then went to get our car. Showers are too small, elevators very small and need work. Only two of the three were operable.

We love the location. The look and feel of the hotel is welcoming. This was our second stay there. We agreed on having this our #1 hotel to stay at in STL.
Where we were I like to look out the window and wasn’t able to because all I saw was a brick wall across from us and an alley way.

The staff was incredibly kind and helpful. The building is beautiful. The hotel bar was very nice and accommodated our large group. Valet parking was fast and efficient.
Everything about the hotel was great, I just wish it were a little closer to the stadium-- that being said it is still an easy walk!

The staff were very friendly from getting checked in to the bar/dining area. The room was clean and they had pool that my partner and I could play. As well, free cookies and milk at night.
We stayed in 1712 and our view was of air conditioners. It didn’t really bother us and everything else made the experience better.
