The buildings in this vintage motel are very well kept. All the rooms have been updated in a mid century fashion and are very clean. Staff daily freshen the room, replacing linens, amenities etc. There is a nice pool & hot tub area with outdoor furniture to lounge and sun at. Great overhead “roof structure “ for those that like shade. The breakfast room offers coffee and cold options which are great for a quick bite. More of a continental style.

The only addition I would be to suggest would be an additional chair in the room for seating. We had a garden tub in the room so that maybe the reason why we didn’t have one? Either way we were very happy overall.

Loved the whole vibe! ... Big, woodsy front lawn with several firepits and seating arrangements. The office sells firewood, so we had a lovely little campfire, before settling into our room. Best of both worlds for us! Also, nice pool!

Stayed in 2 different rooms (Jr. suite, only available 1 night). Didn't mind that at all. Both rooms were clean (despite some carpet stains, and some features/fixtures could use an update). Biggest concern: as a woman who sometimes travels solo, no deadbolt or chain locks. Nothing besides the card key lock. In our 2 rooms you could actually see where chain locks had been removed. Meaning anyone with access to a master key has ability to enter your room anytime. Big red flag for me! I'd definitely come back with my spouse, but never solo!

I love the location and the fire pits.

Upon checkin I was treated with very condescending by the man behind the desk. When he addressed me I told him I was here to checkin and he asked if checkin was my last name. Then he proceeded to tell me he would have to charge me again after I had already been charged by Booking.com. Lastly he sent us to the wrong room of which was already occupied. I received no apology from him for any of it. I really enjoy the fire pits and the rooms are clean, but after that I really don’t think I’ll be staying here again.

Love the location. Love the pool area. Love that there are picnic facilities and fire pits. It is super easy to get to downtown Saugatuck or Douglas. Love the easy parking in front of your room as well. We have returned here now many summers in a row.

We had an incidence in which a 3 yr old child carried a plastic wrapped pastry to the pool area. It was on a table no where near us & was not open. There was no intent to open it as we know there is no eating by the pool. The owner saw it sitting and became angry. He confronted us. He took it and threw it away, I understand the no food policy by the pool. But it was wrapped and was an accident. The child felt he was in trouble and was crying he wanted his Danish back. I completely get the no food policy, but it was a mishap and could have been handled in a less intense and punitive way.

Easy to find, unique and well lit sign which was quite helpful due to town not being very well lighted along majority of the roads. Parking was clean and the spaces were not narrow which myself and many other truck owners could appreciate. Pool, seating area to relax, led light poles. feels quite up to date and well lit. surprised to even see it has charging stations as well

I think the office exterior needs a little something to make it more noticeable, inside is nice don’t get me wrong but the outside will come along eventually I feel.

Very nice older resort with nice pool on beautiful grounds. Relaxing outdoor atmosphere with many patio settings and fire pit. The room was exceptionally clean.

Overwhelming bleach odor when we first checked in, but eventually went away after we aired the room out. Management was very accommodating and offered to switch us to a different room, but we decided to stay in the reserved room. It ended up being okay.

Great location, huge pool and hot tub, lots of wooded area (with fire pits, gazebo etc) that buffers the main road noise. Old motor lodge that has been nicely refurbished in MCM vibe. Charging stations for those with electric vehicles.

Continental breakfast was just ok. Could use some fresh fruit or yogurt. But very clean little area if you don't want to take it back to your room.

Facilities were cute, kitschy, exceptionally clean.

The older gentleman who worked at the front desk was condescending, sarcastic, and rude to me when I asked a simple question about the refrigerator. Not everyone stays in small, family-run hotels and knows the refrigerator rules. Then he said, “Happy, happy!” as if to erase the tone in which he spoke to me. A simple apology would have landed much more professionally.

We went up to Saugatuck during the lake effect winter storm. We debated canceling our trip, but we are so glad we didn’t! We called twice to ask about weather and road conditions. when we arrived, the parking lot was plowed and salted and remained that way the entire weekend, our rooms were clean and even had a small space heater in the bathroom which was very nice to have, and we couldn’t ask for a better location for what we wanted to do.

Staff really nice and helpful. Clean room. Continental breakfast was complete, good coffee. Hot tub and heated pool were at perfect temperature, newly renovated and nice. Wood and starter fluid available in office for fire pit. Charged our car @ 30 cents for a kilowatt-hour. Vending for beverages only. No food fore sale.

Rooms are a little tight on space.
