Liked the cleanliness & the upgrades the owner has made to the property as well as its grounds. Very comfortable & pleasant for the most part. Also the decor was mid century modern, with nice furnishings. Creative art work was painted directly onto the wall over the bed.

Would have rated our stay higher except for 2 things. 1) There was lack of sound proofing between units. We easily heard the TV’s & the talking of our neighbors on either side late into the night and early in the morning. They weren’t partying or being roudy this was normal on their end but disturbing on our side. 2) The other thing was that there was only 1 chair to sit on. The bed altho very comfortable for sleeping was too high for me to sit on if my husband was sitting in the one chair. Unfortunately the jacuzzi took up the space in the room which could have accommodated a small table & chairs. We never used the jacuzzi.

The room was clean, however our air unit was very loud. However, when we wanted more space The outdoor areas were spectacular. Several areas to sit and relax. The staff was amazing and pool and hot tub area was very nice. It was very convenient to get to town parks and beaches, especially traveling with our dog, very pet friendly place.

Our room was a bit small with the jacuzzi tub taking up the majority of the room. Again the air unit was loud. No real space to sit if the weather wasn’t cooperating. But again very clean, and outdoor space amazing and secluded.

We really liked that there were plenty of places to relax outside. The firepits and grill access were nice touches. The mid-century design was a fun, modern look and what drew me in. The rooms were comfortable and clean. The location is close to everything. You can even walk to Pennyroyal Cafe from the motel, a great place for an early meal. I'd love to come back when the pool is open.

It would be nice to have a white semi-sheer curtain under the blackout curtain, just so you can keep the sunlight coming in during the day but still have privacy.

Very clean. Simple but nicely updated. Comfortable bed. Great water pressure in the shower. The grounds were nice with multiple fire pits and covered picnic areas. The pool area looked nice too. Enjoyed the little table and chairs outside the room too.

The window in room 14 does not lock, nor did it have a fitted rod to prevent the window from being opened from the outside. When we requested assistance, they brought a rod that was too short. Someone could open the window just enough to reach in and remove the bar.

They took an old blue highway motel and renovated it, so the rooms are modern. It's a family-owned/operated business and they take great pride in their property. They were very friendly and the motel has a lot of amenities that I wouldn't expect, such as electric vehicle charging stations, propane grills, pool and hot tub, and free continental breakfast until about 10:00am. It's conveniently located near downtown Saugatuck. Finally, my room was extremely clean and the bed was comfortable. Looking forward to staying again.

The buildings in this vintage motel are very well kept. All the rooms have been updated in a mid century fashion and are very clean. Staff daily freshen the room, replacing linens, amenities etc. There is a nice pool & hot tub area with outdoor furniture to lounge and sun at. Great overhead “roof structure “ for those that like shade. The breakfast room offers coffee and cold options which are great for a quick bite. More of a continental style.

The only addition I would be to suggest would be an additional chair in the room for seating. We had a garden tub in the room so that maybe the reason why we didn’t have one? Either way we were very happy overall.

Loved the whole vibe! ... Big, woodsy front lawn with several firepits and seating arrangements. The office sells firewood, so we had a lovely little campfire, before settling into our room. Best of both worlds for us! Also, nice pool!

Stayed in 2 different rooms (Jr. suite, only available 1 night). Didn't mind that at all. Both rooms were clean (despite some carpet stains, and some features/fixtures could use an update). Biggest concern: as a woman who sometimes travels solo, no deadbolt or chain locks. Nothing besides the card key lock. In our 2 rooms you could actually see where chain locks had been removed. Meaning anyone with access to a master key has ability to enter your room anytime. Big red flag for me! I'd definitely come back with my spouse, but never solo!

I love the location and the fire pits.

Upon checkin I was treated with very condescending by the man behind the desk. When he addressed me I told him I was here to checkin and he asked if checkin was my last name. Then he proceeded to tell me he would have to charge me again after I had already been charged by Booking.com. Lastly he sent us to the wrong room of which was already occupied. I received no apology from him for any of it. I really enjoy the fire pits and the rooms are clean, but after that I really don’t think I’ll be staying here again.

Love the location. Love the pool area. Love that there are picnic facilities and fire pits. It is super easy to get to downtown Saugatuck or Douglas. Love the easy parking in front of your room as well. We have returned here now many summers in a row.

We had an incidence in which a 3 yr old child carried a plastic wrapped pastry to the pool area. It was on a table no where near us & was not open. There was no intent to open it as we know there is no eating by the pool. The owner saw it sitting and became angry. He confronted us. He took it and threw it away, I understand the no food policy by the pool. But it was wrapped and was an accident. The child felt he was in trouble and was crying he wanted his Danish back. I completely get the no food policy, but it was a mishap and could have been handled in a less intense and punitive way.

Love the location. Very close to downtown Saugatuck. Across from the dune rides and mini golf. Very near a delicious restaurant. And also super convenient to get to Holland. The kids play area, yard games, swing and fire pits were perfect amenities for our little family. And I’m sure we would have used the pool if it was in season. It was nice to have the continental breakfast too, just enough to get us going for the day.
