The staff was wonderful. They were very accommodating and friendly. The beds are the most comfortable we have ever found. We were told they are all new beds in these rooms. The views of the mountains are phenomenal, and it is considerably quiet, considering it is downtown. They have coffee always available. A simple breakfast of cereal, yogurt, and toast with orange juice and coffee is what you find in the morning. In the evening they have wine and cookies. The lobby is quaint and clean with stunning views of the mountains, a TV, and newspapers to read. It is in walking distance of the Nugget, capital building, and various other attractions. It also has underground parking and security cameras everywhere. We are looking forward to coming for another stay and seeing our new Hardman House friends again.

The only thing I didn't care for was the no pet policy. I like traveling with my cat and truly miss his company when he is not around. I do understand the need for this type of policy. After all, not everyone's pets are as well behaved as well as mine.

It was very homey. The location of my room was great too! The staff was very friendly and i love the underground parking option.

At first, I felt discriminated against for being a local. They require you to put a $300 deposit on your room for locals only. Its not even that much for the deposit on the rooms at the Grand Sierra Resort! I explained to the staff that i dont have that kind of money and im only trying to get out of the house to avoid a family fight. After threatening if i thrash the room that they would call the cops, they ended up letting me stay. I was very embarassed and uneasy while there because of this interaction and didnt even wanna come out of my room.

Friendly and helfpul staff - the breakfast started early, which was VERY practical and only time of our whole trip we had that, especially when we had to leave very early to enjoy Lake Tahoe in the summer with its crowd. I liked the raisin cinnamon bread and the cereals - the parking, outside and underground - the elevator (from the hall and the underground parking) - the room had plenty space - comfortable bed - we walked 5min to order and take our dinner to go - fridge in the room

The creepy stained looks in the hallway to our room - we had a pb with the tv one night (but it fixed itself the day after)

I was highly delighted with my stay. I travel between Oregon and Vegas several times per year and was just so tired of Reno options. I've had success in the past choosing older hotels and this also met my expectations. The check-in was fast and easy. Although the hotel is an older hotel, the rooms were clean, the bed was comfortable and most of all, there was no noise. I gave it one less star as the A/C units were not working, some legal issues with the city. Sounds like California, liberal government regulations, have to do with licensing issues to run the air conditioners. Go figure that one out. I stayed one night and got a wonderful night's sleep. I woke up at 6 a.m the next morning to start the last part of my drive. The staff had put out fresh coffee, fresh fruit, cereal, and so on. The standard morning breakfast. I honestly couldn't tell you if they had anything warm to eat. I just got my coffee, glanced at the setup, talked to the nice pleasant young man at checkout, and was on my way. This hotel will stay on my go-to list for halfway hotel stays to Oregon and back.

Not that I didn't like it. Maybe a small attempt at starting to upgrade the bathroom sinks at least to not see chipped porcelain.

staff is great, friendly & helpful

many of the rooms are in need of updates, sign in windows of rooms says to not open windows, bee problem is being worked on - these same signs have been there for years - perhaps they don’t want windows opened for safety reasons? Hallway carpeting on upper floors has sign saying caution, are working on installing new carpeting- same signs in place for at least 1 + years. Owners don’t appear to have any plans to actually fix carpeting problems, it’s easy to stumble on ares of loose carpeting.

This is a great little hotel in a good location. We stayed here when going to Incline Village and Sand Harbor. We were not able to try the breakfast since we left early each morning, but the evening snacks looked great. We would stay here again.

Hallway carpets and common area furniture were kind of dirty but the hotel is in the process of replacing them. Daily towel service would have been nice, but we got more towels at the front desk.

We were in a great room and so was my daughter and family. We had a joining rooms. But my baby sister Cyn Rowe was in 103 and was covered in bedbug bites. I know you were happy she told you right away. But I have pictures I can send you of those horrible bites. I really think you should send her a weekend free to make up for her inconvenience. I love the Hardman I worked as a maid in 1993 for awhile. I would appreciate it if you could make it up to her. She was in room 103 Friday May 6& 7. If you need further info please fill free to get in touch. Thank you Mrs. Leta Bergstrom

Everything else was fine.

Very friendly and accommodating staff. Breakfast was "take away" brown bag with yogurt, fruit, breakfast bar, and a bottle of water. Fine for my husband and I, but not a "full" breakfast. Coffee was available 24/7 at the front desk, which was a nice benefit. There was also a coffee maker in our room that brewed a 5-cup pot. Hotel is dated and could use a "sprucing up," but the room was clean and comfortable. I appreciated the fact that the windows could actually be opened for fresh air. The hotel is centrally located just north of the historic downtown area, so very convenient to that area of town. They have underground parking available, which is a plus in the winter. The price for the room was very reasonable.

The bathroom sink was mounted really low -- I would say appropriate for a wheelchair, but the front apron of the sink would not allow for a wheelchair to roll up to it. I'm only 5'4" and I had to almost bend in half to wash my face. Just awkward.

Very nice people, very welcoming. Close enough to walk to many restaurants. Decor is straight out of the 80’s/90’s, but it was clean.

I didn’t like the need to put a deposit on the room that was refunded later, but I understand why they wanted it. It was just inconvenient, and I had paid online prior to arrival. There were a few tiny maintenance things..,, like the tv slanting and the bathroom fan making a overly loud noise, and the spots on the carpet didn’t look great.
