Clean, comfortable and very spacious rooms with exceptional views. Super- cozy and rustic, yet modern, decor. In room Keurig coffee maker, amazing TV,very comfortable pillows and beds as well as a great sitting chair. Staff in the dining room were all amazing! -personable, efficient and professional. Mid- week afternoon tea was exceptional and very reasonably priced compared to elsewhere. The quality of our dinner was 5/5 stars- so delicious. We got the salmon and the organic chicken dish with a side of “not to be missed” mashed potatoes. Both entrees were very tasty and beautifully portioned, presented and cooked. The bar and tavern area also offers awesome lunch items and full bar. Go for the French onion soup. I had it 2 times! The grounds offer so much- hiking, ice skating , a surprisingly awesome zoo and an outdoor sort -of -archaeological and historical museum area with very professional exhibits and spectacular views of the mountains and the Bear Mountain Bridge as you stroll though paved paths in a nicely forested park like area. Overall a wonderful winter getaway with so much comfort and Nature to offer.
Better / more breakfast options in the main lodge dining room besides brunch and grab and go options. For example a reasonably priced buffet or blueberry pancakes or eggs combos or oatmeal and fruit etc.

The area is beautiful and just far enough away from NYC but still close enough to visit. The Inn is gorgeous. I love all the history in the area. It's been updated and clean. We ate at the Hikers Cafe, and the food was good. Staff was all friendly and helpful. The stone cabins are really cute. Loved the fireplace in the sitting area. The walls are paper thin, though.
The signage for check-in was lacking and a bit confusing. The sign for the Inn is right over the door for the gift shop and cafe. There should be a sign for check-in over the door between the sets of stairs. It's fall, and I get leaves are an issue, but the underbrush behind the cabins could be cleaned up for a better view.

The location is outstanding ! The Overlook Lodge is in a wooded area, and there is a wonderful view from the common area balcony. The rustic decor and furniture is unique and comfortable and appealing. The park offers hiking trails and a lot of open space. The common area living room has,a huge stone fireplace. Delightful !!
We purchased take out dinner. That was a bit disappointing. That would not deter me from returning.

The location was beautiful & quiet, the rooms were comfy and had lovely Nature views. Wifi was good, and bottled water & coffee facility in the room was nice.
We did not use the breakfast option as it was an extra charge & the selection was not attractive. No lift option to our second floor rooms in the Overlook Lodge was difficult with several suitcases. Check-in at a different location was also inconvenient

Location, clean and comfortable.
I wish the Inn had more amenities on site, considering it is separate from the main building. Perhaps a simple complimentry breakfast, small bar. We would have enjoyed a warm fire burning in the cozy large lounge area. Especially because it was a holiday weekend and very busy.

Location was excellent. Breakfast was fine.
Overlook Lodge was in a great location. Woodwork in the rooms, e.g. bedstead, was beautiful. No fan in the bathroom. Rest of the decor in the rooms was like a modest motel. We had asked online for accommodation in the Stone Cottages but were booked into the Overlook Lodge.

The location to Bear Mountain was excellent the view from our Stone Cottage was picture perfect so warm so cuddling. I suggest that several couples book Overlook Lodge and get a Stone Cottage there's about six rooms in the one Cottage perfect place for a weekend getaway with your friends very private the location the scenery is breathtaking
I didn't like "at first" my room not having a telephone, I wasn't use to that. I also wasn't use to my room not having a air conditioner thermostat. but once I spoke to the front desk clerk and he informed me of the location of both inquiries it made sense. I'm looking forward to going back up to overlook Lodge with about four more couples

The cottages are cute and comfortable, the view of the lake is very pretty.
We arrived late at night and under pouring rain - it was a bit hard to find the entrance to the cottage, and would have appreciated slightly clearer indication

The location was close to highway, the grounds were beautiful, there were hiking/walking paths easily accessable from the cottages. Our cottage was adorable, rustic decor, very clean, everything we needed (ironing board, fridge,Kuerig, hairdryer, flat screen tv,log for the fireplace)& very comfy room.Gift shop on site as well as restaurants, pool, zoo, carousel, playground.Easy trip to West Point. The bathroom was small but clean & had what you needed. The staff was wonderful. The whole resort was beautiful! We will be visiting again for sure!
Although the food was delicious in the main restaurant, it was very, very expensive. The only other choice for dinner was a smaller room where you could order off a very limited menu of appetizers. I wish there was another restaurant with more dinner choices that were reasonably priced.
