what a great find. the place was clean and safe. parking was easy, as there is a lot and if that is full the streets out front are safe, as this place is right in the heart of a neighborhood. the staff was very welcoming and friendly. all-in-all it was a very pleasant stay, and i would certainly return.

Parking lot was bigger than we expected, the place has a classy vintage (almost European) feel and the exterior and interior is kept impeccably clean. Wish I had had more time I would have tried the attached restaurant it looked very enticing. Staff is so friendly and personable this is a very unique hotel.

Because this is an old hotel, there is no elevator only stairs. This was fine for us but should be noted incase you need accommodations on the first floor because of this.

Very friendly and helpful staff at reception. Excellent location - right next to Cedar Creek Park which is nice for a morning jog and a short ride to Jones Beach. We had a suite which consisted of a very comfortable queen bed and pretty comfortable pull out futon. There was plenty of drawer space. Nice having a mini fridge and microwave too! The attached restaurant Toto's was a very pleasant surprise. We had delicious mussels, calamari and grilled asparagus.

We would recommend adding some hooks in the bathroom for hanging towels and having some tissues in the room would be nice.

Location is wonderful for a parent with small children. Safe and next to a popular town park. We really like the old fashioned feel to the small hotel with the pay phone and old fashioned television. The bathroom in the suit was perfectly clean as was the bedroom and the rest of the room.

Not all of the electrical outlets worked but I found one that did for making coffee. The top freezer door was glued shut so couldnt put items in the freezer but the fridge worked excellently. The suite is lovely with a full kitchen, but disappointed there was no silverware or glassware or cooking pots (necessary when traveling with fussy eaters), so would need to bring that if I book again.

I was very happily surprised at the Jones Beach Hotel. From the outside, it doesn't look too impressive, but once we walked into the small lobby, with a very cute parlor and fireplace, I was completely at ease. Staff was great, everything was very, very clean, bed and pillows were comfy and the best perk of all was the lovely restaurant. The food was amazing, no need to go anywhere else for dinner. Ten minute ride to Jones Beach theater and I would absolutely return.

The only things I would say were negatives were that there are only a couple of electrical outlets in the room. I unplugged a lamp in order to plug my phone in and the water pressure in the bathroom wasn't great. Both of these were minor inconveniences and did not affect my stay at all.

I honestly can't say enough amazing things about this hotel. My partner and I have stayed here a few times and always seek out this hotel and look forward to our stays. We make a few trips a year to visit family and for a few rehearsals with musicians we know in the area and every time it is like staying with family. Staying in this hotel is honestly like a trip back in time, before things became so impersonal. From the moment you approach the building you are transported back to the age where humans were not so caught up in the internet and technology and the homogenization of all things. The Jones Beach Hotel is an interactive time capsule. The front desk is gorgeous curved wood, a fireplace, coffee, etc. The lobby is intimate, like sitting in someone's living room. The restaurant off the lobby was a lovely place to grab dinner and drinks, with an excellent selection of favorites. There is charm and kitchyness abounds here where it is clear that the folks running the place treat it as their home and filled with as much pride. I suppose I should include our biases: we weren't looking for the conveniences of "modern" hotels like a phone in the room, keyless entry or fancy credit card like entry systems, 300 cable channels, a business center, a gym, room service, etc. We wanted a place close to friends and family that wasn't too expensive, was convenient to other attractions we were interested in (Jones Beach 5 miles way via trail out back), in a safe neighborhood with clean rooms and bathroom. If you're looking for those other things, then you could go to any of those chains. But if you want an experience that is charming, unique, and human - book now!

What can I say that I didn't like? I don't know, to mess with the jenga tower of experiences and change something feels dangerous. It's worth mentioning that there is no elevator and the stairs may seem steep so I'd say "be aware". However, there are some lovely rooms on the ground floor rear of hotel that are marvelously appointed (my parents stayed there and were thrilled) and still convenient to restaurant and parking.

The rooms at Jones Beach Hotel were comfortable and included a fridge, coffee maker and table and chairs (which are not always standard for rooms of this size). The rooms were clean, the staff friendly and helpful, and there was free tea and coffee in the foyer.

The suburb of Jones Beach is very much set up for cars - we caught the train and the hotel was a 20 min walk from the station (which we were fine with though it would not suit people with more limited mobility). The hotel is also about a 15 min walk away from the nearest bodegas and restaurants.

Manny was an excellent host! Very accommodating, courteous and friendly. Fresh coffee in the morning. I did like the proximity to a public park, literally, right next door. Took our coffee in the morning and went for a nice walk in the park. The rooms were very clean! A/C in room allowed us to control the temperature.

I rented 2 rooms. They were very small. The shower door hit right into the sink and there was no room to put toiletries (other than on the toilet). No hooks for towels. The pillows were very large and uncomfortable. Still would recommend!

The room was immaculate but small. There is a nice little bar to have a nightcap. The staff was extremely friendly. Nice location. Lot's of parking.

There is no closet to hang clothes in. No one ever came and cleaned our room, emptied the garbage cans or brought us clean towels in the 4 nights we stayed there.

I chose this hotel because it was close to my sister's house in Massapequa. After I made my reservation, my niece questioned my choice and said people told her it was run down and had a bad reputation. That couldn't be further from the truth. It IS an older building (1929) in a quiet suburban neighborhood, but it was clean and has been nicely refurbished. The bed was comfortable, the bathroom worked perfectly, and it was pretty quiet. Wi-fi signal was strong and fast. The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful. There is a restaurant in the building that I heard good things about, but I didn't have time to eat there.

The building is old and has no elevator, so I wouldn't recommend it for folks with disabilities. Before we went to bed, I heard what I thought was mechanical noise (pipes) and feared that the noise would keep us awake, but it never recurred and my light-sleeping wife slept through the night. No phones in the room, although there is a pay phone in the hallway. We were traveling by mass transit, and the location is not as close to the railroad station as I would've liked. They don't serve breakfast, but there was a hot pot of coffee, water and tea in the lobby. Not a lot of electrical outlets for charging devices. King size bed did not leave much room for furniture like an easy chair, but it did have a small table with chairs for eating or writing.
