I loved the proximity to the river and the covered porches for everyone. Also, while no cable seemed like a bummer, the Roku TV came preloaded with all kinds of streaming apps presigned in. My kiddos had no nickjr withdrawals at bedtime. Another bonus to the property was it's proximity to Lake Lure and all the shops. If I hadn't had small kiddos I could've walked to everything!

The rooms were smaller than I anticipated, while we made it work with her playpen and walker, etc. It was a cramped space. Our AC unit was also struggling hard to perform, my husband got it working without all the strain, room got super cold after that. My only other dislike was the rooms seemed to be lacking sounds control. We couldn't hear talking, thank God, but every move our neighbors made we could hear.

The location of this motel was perfect: right on the Rocky Broad River and a little out of town. The views of the river and of Chimney Rock State Park were incredible. Our room included a small kitchen space and was perfect for our 4-day stay. It was clean and cozy, and our room had a deck with chairs that looked out over the river and mountains. The grounds had picnic tables, fire pits with wood provided, and chairs and rockers to enjoy the river close up, which we did.

There were only two things I was disappointed with: first, our windows didn't open to the NC mountain breezes and river sounds, and smoking was allowed - not in the rooms, but guests in the rooms next to us and below us smoked when sitting out on their decks. Unfortunately, cigarette smoke, even outside when nearby, bothers me a lot; so there were times I couldn't sit outside and enjoy the views on my deck.

The cabin was in the perfect location. Very close to the mountains and even closer to the river that runs behind the property. We took advantage of the bbq grill out back, through some meat on the grill while the kids enjoyed the river just steps away. Pro tip: request a room with a patio for great views.

The bathroom is tiny but not a deal breaker for my crew. Everything else was nice and cozy.

The view was amazing. Room had what you needed and clean. Loved having a full size fridge. No frills but that's fine with me.

If I had to complain about anything it would be the bathroom needs an exhaust fan so the room doesn't steam up from the shower. It has a window you can open but wife and daughter weren't comfortable with that. I would still come back for the view alone.

The property was very clean and in a great location. 1.7 miles to lake lure or play in the river just out the back door … fun either way. This place gives u the old school camping vibe I remember as a kid in the 80s but with cold AC ! staff was very friendly. i watched the person I believe to be the owner start a wood fire in the fire pit for people to enjoy… that kind of care for guests is hard to find these days.

it’s very old so if your looking for fancy/modern this is not for you but it was clean and comfortable.

I stayed in the best room on the property with a clear and fantastic view of the river. You could hear the roar of the river all night long and the room had a screen locking door that you could utilize just to listen to the surroundings. Small and quaint room, perfect for seeing the sights and just sleep/refresh when you need to.

Unfortunately the bed was very uncomfortable. It needed to be flipped badly as one side had been slept in and the other side never had, so there was a giant uncomfortable lump.

The views were amazing, you could see the waterfall from out room, they have fire pits and seating by the river, my son loved all the rocks and being able to step in the river, the owners are terrific and definitely take great pride in what they do, they were so kind and attentive. Very close to restaurants and. Chimney rock park. If we come back to chimney rock this wl be our place of choice.

Love the location! Enjoyed rocking on the porch listening to the River. Appreciated the fire-pit and picnic tables and swings. Our room was cozy and clean and kitchen well stocked. The bed was very comfortable.

The wall sockets are in terrible need of replacement. My fan and chargers and hair drier kept falling out! ! Also carpet and linoleum is in dire need of upgrade. But it was very clean so no real problem.

We loved listening to the roar of the river in early mornings and late evenings while we lay under the covers. The staff was very nice and helpful. Enjoyed the outside picnic area. My husband was able to enjoy fishing. He caught a 18.5 native trout.

Two things I wish the room had--a clock where you can see the time during the night and a small coffee maker.

the property was easy to maneuver. right at the River, awesome place for a fire which we enjoyed right by the river. our room was very comfortable with a balcony. Rocking chairs to enjoy the view. just loved it. the hosts were extremely nice and welcoming. they went out of the way to make our stay everything we hoped for.
