The staff was welcoming, helpful and courteous, especially, Chad. The location of the hotel was not in the part of Lancaster that I thought it would be in (my fault) but Chad was very helpful in giving us our bearings and pointing out different sites we could visit in the western part of Lancaster. We ended up driving more than we expected (to the Amish communities) and surrounding towns of interest.

We first entered the hotel in the lower (ballroom?)entrance which was dark and deserted and eerie . We were directed to the front entrance which doesn't have great appeal. Again, the overall feel was dark, dated and deserted. We changed our two-night reservation to one. The room, while in need of a bright update, was very clean and comfortable. After we did get our bearings and familiarity with the area we decided to stay the second night after all. It was the attitude and helpfulness of the staff that helped us make that decision.

I found this hotel through Booking.com, so was not sure what to expect, especially since the rate was so reasonable. We were very pleasantly surprised with the hotel, staff and facilities. Also a bonus to have the restaurant and bar attached, which was also a very nice, laid back atmosphere.

The only thing that was more of a small annoyance than a dislike, was that it is very close to a busy highway so we heard the traffic in the background. But it soon became background noise.

I liked the structure it was very nice the rooms were comfy and clean and the staff was very nice.

I didn’t like how hogged the pool was it was a lot of people and they would always give us bad looks and laugh at us since we are Hispanic and it was mostly white people but this isn’t a problem with the hotel because the hotel was great but if you are planning to come here as a Hispanic or black, etc prepare yourself for racism and all over the area as well

A great location, very clean, friendly and helpful staff, easy parking, free breakfast, proximity to restaurant. We needed 2 rooms for our family and the hotel easily accommodated our request for adjacent rooms. Good value given the price relative to other nearby hotels.

Decor was fine but outdated-- like stepping back in time. Breakfast buffet had adequate options but was just ok.

The hotel is charming. It is an older large hotel that has been maintained well. The room was very comfortable and the cost was reasonable. It was quiet even on the main level with two floors above us. The breakfast buffet was good. They had fresh fruit that was a wonderful treat. Getting to the hotel was a little tricky due to construction and the hotel signage being small and not lit well.

While the check-in was a bit strange (the hotel is using a secondary check-in area instead of what was originally the main lobby... not really clear why?), the staff were all exceptionally friendly, and the hotel - while a bit worn - is kept very clean and was very comfortable. I fell asleep immediately in the comfy beds, and the down pillows and duvets are a nice touch. The AC/Heat worked well and was reasonably quiet, the windows could be opened for fresh air, and the vending machine wasn't trying to rip off the guests. I got the sense this hotel plays a major role in the local population - the ballroom was being used for a community event, and the restaurant drew a large, local crowd both nights. I didn't get a chance to try the restaurant, but the buffet breakfast was ample and well made (two types of eggs, bacon, sausage, pancakes, grits or oatmeal, biscuits and gravy, cereal, yogurt, fruit, pastries, and bread!). The restaurant looks like it would be a bunch of fun in the summer/fall - there is a "tree house" in the Robin Hood-themed restaurant (which is surprisingly not over-the-top campy, but reasonably well done!) and lots of beers on tap. I'd come here again.

Still really baffled about the check-in. I was lucky as I accidentally drove to the correct entrance, but the people who checked in after me had been wandering around the hotel because they came in what used to be the main lobby, but which isn't being used right now. Not really a big deal, but I can see how some people could be annoyed by going to the wrong place.

I loved how unique and charming the decor was. So glad it did NOT have a modern cold vibe to it. I also loved how the decor was an acknowledgment to the character of the surrounding areas imbedded with beautiful vintage art, natural materials, and neutral tones. I was in heaven the moment I walked in!

Loved everything!!

location was great. hotel is older but clean and comfortable

when we arrived to check in there was a sign saying the desk clerk had been called to another area of the hotel. I waited more than 40 minutes! no exaggeration 40 minutes! the desk clerk came back obviously from lunch. I complained and he shrugged it off. I paid in cash and he attempted to give me all Pennie’s for my change. it was more than a handful and he did this with a smirk. Had we not just driven 8 hours we would not have stayed.

Staff was very helpful with questions regarding the hotel and nearby areas to eat and visit.

Restaurant took longer than expected to get our food after the order, however we understood there was a huge wrestling event going that the restaurant/hotel on in the area which could've overwhelmed the service that night.

Very cozy rooms and very clean. It was very quiet too. So we had a good rest. Felt like I was home. Beds were also comfy. Lots of open area to walk your dog around premises.

I did not realize it was a little drive away from Amish countryside. The area is more industrial looking near to a highway, that you can't see but you can hear outside only.
